This is the fifth and final in a series of Origins commander decklists I'm building. The basic idea behind each of these decks is to build around a particular Origins Walker, both in flavor and in function, making use of cards associated with that character from worlds that character has visited.
Nissa's main focus is on land, with some creature support. This of course means her deck wants lots of ramp, landfall, and other land interaction effects. On her original card, Nissa had a focus on Elves, and Elves happen to play quite nicely with land. Plants and Elementals frequently show up as part of Nissa's arsenal of druidic tricks. +1/+1 counters play into the theme of growth.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I've always felt weird about playing multiple cards for the same PW in the same deck. I guess it's the fact I can't have more than one on the battlefield at a time. But since the decklists include the Oaths as part of the Origins 5's pivotal life moments, it would probably be handy to include multiple PWs so you can get multiple triggers off the Oaths.
EDIT: And now that Ixalan removes the planeswalker uniqueness rule and makes all planeswalker cards legendary, I can comfortably include past Nissas in this decklist.

Also, is there a budget constraint (or something other than theme)?
