I would be nice to get some more card draw in. I'm torn between Regal Force, Hunter's Insight, or something like Momentous Fall/ Life's Legacy. The problem is they're all situational draw spells. One requires creatures, the other an unblocked combat and the last a fortuitous situation where I have 4 open mana and a creature that's about to die. I'm leaning towards Regal Force, but I could use some input here.
I wouldn't call Momentous Fall or Life's Legacy situational. You're playing Titania, you pretty much always have a 5/3 spare - whether a token or your general - and while MF is best if you would be losing the creature anyway, it's not necessary to be in that situation to get a good bit of value out of it. Even Hunter's Insight isn't that hard to pull off: there's often someone open, and if not, there's generally someone who you can get through - either they don't want to put their creatures in front of a 5/3, or they've only got 1 blocker and you can send two elementals at them or so on.
Thanks again for the good advice. I think I'll try out Life's Legacy. Regal Force has been not bad, but it's sometimes hard to pull off.
Lotus Cobra has really proven itself in testing. It's a really powerful card that ramps like no one's business. I even lived the dream of turn 2 Cobra into turn 3 Verdant Catacombs making two more mana into Titania bringing back the catacombs making two more mana and playing Sylvan Library. That Cobra allows crazy turns like that is insane.
If you want to really break Lotus Cobra, see what happens when all your opponents accept a Tempt with Discovery with it in play....
IIRC, it went something like this:
T1 land, T2 land, Cobra, T3 land, Tempt
I get Wooded Foothills, they all accept, I get Windswept Heath, Thespian's Stage and Dark Depths
Crack one fetch, get forest
Titania, recurr fetch
Crack two fetches, get two elementals and two more forests
Cast Nature's Lore
Thespians Stage copies dark depths, legend rule kills the latter, former get sacrificed, get Marit Lage. And two more elementals.
So, by the end of my 3rd turn, I had 7 lands, 4 elementals, my general and of course a 20/20 indestructible flyer
For some reason, my playgroup don't accept my tempting offers anymore (though I still run it because it's an unconditional land tutor)....
Definity not, I dont see a Gaea's Cradle in your list so no I do not believe tempt is a better card. Also you need to know your playgroup are they gullible enough to take the Tempt?
Definity not, I dont see a Gaea's Cradle in your list so no I do not believe tempt is a better card. Also you need to know your playgroup are they gullible enough to take the Tempt?
I missed the lack of Cradle in his list, so yeah, that's a downside, but that also applies to the other land tutors he's running like Expedition Map. Of the two, Tempt with Discovery is easily the better card for me (I would probably put it above Sylvan Scrying too, but that's at least something debatable). And it doesn't need people to actually be tempted for it to be decent. Getting any land into play untappted isn't bad for 4 mana. Even if it's just a fetch, early game it guarantees you next turn Titania with something in the yard to recurr, or late game, ramp and an elemental. The only land tutor I consider to be outright better is of course Crop Rotation.
Two other newer options for land search are Traverse the Ulvenwald all star for mono green for additional search.
And Ulvenwald Hydra a legitimate threat plus reach and any land into play for 2 more than tempt. Keep your tutors cheap unless its scapeshift so you can cast bigger meaner things, like greater good. Selvala, Heart of the Wilds is also digusting ramp, Tapping 1 for 5 or more is worth the cost.
Gaea's Cradle is not something I really want to spend money on for now. Eventually I might splurge and get one.
I do have a Thespian's Stage and a Dark Depths, however. This is probably something I should have in the deck but it feels a bit cheap (I use it in my Kuon, Ogre Ascendant Tiny Leaders deck).
Reflecting on the Tempt vs Map debate, I do think Tempt will generally be better. I think my friends are generally wary of what I do, so I would never expect them to all go for the offer, but I think they will think it's advantageous for them to do so from time to time (if only to fetch a Wasteland or Strip Mine to mess with me). The fact that the land comes into play untapped is so much better than it going to my hand. It basically makes it the same cost as the Map, when you look at it that way. It's not as good if you're strapped for lands, however.
Splendid Reclamation with Cobra in play is pretty insane too. Cobra is a great combo engine that allows for extremely explosive turns.
Upkeep, I have noticed you went away from the Stax-elements. Do you ever miss them? While I haven't really abused something like Smokestack yet, Winter Orb has proven it's worth. To me, I see the Stax elements as a backup plan if we are forced to grind out games. Maybe I'm wrong, and we should go all-in on trying to combo for lethal in a turn?
I currently play Akroma's Memorial to give creatures haste (as a back up to Concordant Crossroads). Are there any better options out there that I may be missing?
I don't really miss Smokestack and I never ran Winter Orb. The only Stax-like elements left in the deck are the land destruction spells with Life from the Loam or Crucible of Worlds. I would like to keep my friends, so Winter Orb is not really conducive to that. I played the card once in another deck; not only did it basically halt the game entirely, but it made me the #1 target and I died shortly after. It's a very effective card, but it's just not fun at all for anyone.
Aside from creating tokens at the end step just before your turn, those two are the only haste-givers as far as I know. I'm fine with just running Crossroads.
For your card draw issue, I can see liking what you have suggested. If elemental bond and garruk's packleader have been good, there is an older, more risky variation of it known as kavu lair (risky because your opponents can use it too). You should always have the most advantage, though. I still stand by my evolutionary leap suggestion, though. If the tokens are dying anyways, might as well turn them into something good.
Kavu Lair seems perfect! Thanks for the great suggestion!
Evolutionary Leap seems fine, but I don't think I run a wide enough variety of creatures to really fetch for with a large number of dying elementals. Thanks though.
Evolutionary Leap seems fine, but I don't think I run a wide enough variety of creatures to really fetch for with a large number of dying elementals. Thanks though.
I love Evolutionary Leap. I use it even in a deck that makes tokens that runs about eight creatures. I know that every time I use it, I will get something powerful. Another plus, is that it protects your creatures from STP and Control Magic effects. It is powerful, but doesn't draw as much hate in a multi^player game compared to a Survival of the Fittest.
I recently finished up playable draft of Titania, but there are soooo many good green cards to consider that I'd love some help weeding out cards that I shouldn't waste my time with.
I started with a good looking shell I found on tappedout.net and have just started tuning it after getting a couple games in. Here is my current list Titania prototype
So far I've cut
-Akroma's Memorial
-Ghirapur Orrery
-Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
-Doubling Season - Both token doublers have seemed like win more to me, but maybe others can tell me different
-Parallel Lives
-Squirrel Wrangler - Too expensive and loses value after removing the token doublers
And I've added
+Triumph of the Hordes - Seems like a much better finisher than the Memorial
+Horn of Greed seems like it will net me more cards than the Orrery
+Regal Force will hopefully net me more cards than Butcher, but I also didn't like that Butcher shuffled your graveyard back in because that can really kill my value engine
+Woodfall Primus for general removal
+Woodland Bellower for digging through the tool box
+Heroic Intervention to protect from board wipes, but maybe Natural Affinity would be better.
Any advice and discussion is appreciated!
*Edit* I realise my maybeboard is huge. So even picking and choosing a couple cards you have opinions on is perfectly fine with me. I plan on getting some games in tomorrow night and hope to have a few revelations my self.
Hey! Thanks for bringing this deck back! I've built my version of Titania and am doing amazing things with it.
Groundskeeper turned out to be a really weak card for me. I haven't regretted cutting it.
Natural Affinity is a must-run. This card wins games with Titania in play.
Instead of running Tireless Tracker, Top and maybe even Horn of Greed, I would highly recommend the trio of Kavu Lair, Garruk's Packleader and Elemental Bond. This card draw an insane amount of cards for you, making it feel like you're comboing off.
I ran Creeping Renaissance for a while, but ended up cutting it because it wasn't pulling its weight in the deck.
Certainly looks like a solid start Driemer84. Here's a few of my thoughts:
Contrary to Upkeep, I've found Tireless Tracker to be pretty useful. He's not a great topdeck later in the game, but getting him out early can provide a solid bit of draw over a game. Horn of Greed is not something I've been impressed by though. Unless you've got Exploration or Azusa, Lost But Seeking it's basically symmetrical card draw, which is not a good thing. If it triggered of lands ETBing, it could maybe work thanks to our heavy use of fetches, but even then, heavy fetch use ain't something limited to Titania. I prefer things like Hunters Insight (3 mana draw 5), Momentous Fall (4 mana draw 5) or Shamanic Revelation (draw lots and the lifegain is a nice addition). Rishkar's Expertise should be good too, but I'm yet to actually cast it.
Asceticism is not a cards that I'm that fond of. Just costs too much mana. If you want something similar, Steely Resolve or Dense Foliage are better options. Their not as powerful as Asceticism, but the mana costs make them so much more playable. Although to be honest, I typically just accept things are going to die. Heroic Intervention is a good thought though, it's performed amazingly in my Edric deck, so I should try it here.
Speaking of accepting things are going to die, All Is Dust might kill most of your stuff, but having a proper boardwipe can be very useful.
Get a Carpet of Flowers. It's probably the best green ramp spell in the format. Ramp wise Ancient Tomb and Mana Crypt are also amazing if you can afford them (not that that should be news, but just saying from experience that they're particularly great in a deck like this - turn 2 Titania can lead to some disgusting plays).
Natural Order says "this token is a Craterhoof Behemoth". Or in other words "I win". It can also get any number of utility creatures if necessary. Similarly, Eldritch Evolution has some nice targets, especially off of Titania herself. This into Bane of Progress has saved my arse on more than one occasion - and while I do run a fair amount of enchantments that the Bane will hit, it's well worth the sacrifice given how badly he can wreck other people's stuff. I'd run it above either Primus or Terastodon. Duplicant is another good removal creature for a tutor target.
Glad to get some feedback! What I'm running tonight is
-Groundskeeper
-Asceticism
-Creeping Renaissance
-Manabond
-Horn of Greed
+Carpet of Flowers
+Oblivion Stone
+All is Dust
+Eldritch Evolution
+Natural Affinity
The cards I'm taking out have been on the chopping block and your feed back confirmed they are worth cutting. Manabond was really never that great unless I had the perfect hand.
I'm going to give some sweepers, ramp, and a new win con a try tonight with these additions.
Ancient Tomb and Mana Crypt are in a different deck at the moment. I may transfer them over, but I want to see how the deck performs with out them for now.
I have been running Titania since shortly after she was released and I strongly advocate the inclusion of lots of sweepers. The deck can recover very quickly and often be in a position with 15 or 20 power immediately after clearing the board.
It's a little greedy with so few creatures, but I run both Birthing Pod and Survival of the Fittest and they are just as strong as you'd expect.

Would you mind posting a list? I like the idea of control with the deck. It's seems like everyone agrees the deck can recover super fast so I'm leaning more towards that kind of build.
I was playing around with Rec Sage and then Acidic Slime, but as a couple people have mentioned in the thread, this deck rebuilds super quick so I'm opting out of some of the targeted removal for more sweepers. I've cut Slime for Wave of Vitriol and had made cuts previously for All is Dust and Oblivion Stone. I really have never been disappointed in seeing them.
I'm also giving Natural Balance a try though I'm still on the fence about this one. Scapeshift can be powerful, but I'm not sure I would need more than one of this effect in the deck.
Akroma's Memorial has been put back in the deck because I'm finding that giving haste and trample are some of the more powerful things the deck can do and it'd be nice to have more than just Concordant Crossroads. I cut Avenger of Zendikar to fit Memorial back in. Avenger hasn't really done much for me as powerful as it is. It may be a mistake as it is a win condition in the case that I don't have access graveyard land recursion, but he's out for now.
I got some more games in over the past week. I got to cast Natural Balance for the first time and I am completely sold. I was able to sac most of my lands to Zuran Orb with an Elemental Bond in play gaining two life, creating a 5/3 and drawing a card each time. Then when Natural Balance resolved I fished out 3 more forests while everyone else sac'd down to 5. With my Gaea's Cradle in play I was able to float a bunch of mana and play most of the cards I drew, including the Concordant Crossroads and Craterhoof, sealing the game.
I've been able to trim a lot of the fat out of cards I've been considering too. Almost everything I was looking at usually just had a better version in some other card. Stonehoof Chieftain for example is outclassed by Kamahl, Fist of Krosa in my opinion. Stonehoof can be exiled when I move to combat, where Kamahl can hit play, activate, and the damage is done. I used this method to cut my maybe board from 30+ to under 20 card. Now I think it will come down to more games to figure out the rest.
How has Realms Uncharted and Lotus Cobra performed for people who run them? Realms has seemed pretty low impact, but maybe I'm not using it right. I'm usually just grabbing Drownyard Temple and some other land I want to retrieve with Titania.
Also, how do you feel about cards like Kodama's Reach and Cultivate over cards like Nature's Lore? Getting two land out of the deck is nice, but I like that Nature's Lore can be cast on turn two and that the forest comes into play untapped.

Last week, I played a game against Daretti, Scrap Savant, Rakdos, Lord of Riots (I lent the deck out) and Liliana, Heretical Healer. I completely mopped the floor with them by going with Exploration into turn 3 Titania into turn 4 Scapeshift and turn 5 Triumph of the Hordes killing everyone. I felt almost sorry for what happened.
