I really liked how Mizzix of the Izmagnus was designed and can be pretty devastating if built correctly. I was thinking of trying to make a deck that takes out some of the shenanigans like extra turns, constant counter spells, and just your normal goodstuff deck to allow for all of those wonderful instants and sorceries that allow me to gain control of target creature. From them I would use it against the owner and have a sac outlet.
After some fishbowling I realized that I do not have a big enough draw engine to make Tibalt useful so he is out. Remand doesn't seem that useful either but it is hard to say especially when I am not playing against anyone. Quicken doesn't seem to be useful most of the time as well.
On a positive note I am getting Disharmony in a trade.
At the moment I am looking for some more artifact tutoring besides fabricate, could someone help with that?
I actually kind of like this more casual take on Mizzix. The idea seems to contribute towards a more enjoyable experience in a multiplayer setting, rather than the usual combo/solitaire style.
Personally, I'd swap out the artifacts costing more than 1. Get rid of the enchantments. Get rid of the creatures. Add a bunch of blue clone effects (+ Phyrexian Metamorph) or add more spells that simply permanently steal the opponents creatures. Add a few X card draw spells, and a few red boardwipes/aoe damage spells. Add [[Evacuation]]. And I'd make some spring cleaning amongst the existing sorceries and instants. The concept of stealing would still be there, but the clones would act more as identity theft.
I agree, the casual aspect of this deck is more fun and creative than the infinite UUU turns that are generally myopic and boring in nature. I play loads of X burn spells like Banefire, Fall of the Titans , and Red Sun's Zenith and forking them with Pyromancer's Goggles and Reiterate. Effectively being able to deal 54ish damage for three R.
The major suggestion I would make is to limit the non-instant/sorceries wherever possible (If there are any effects that can be on non-permanents).
Also play spells like Blue Sun's Zenith and Stroke of Genius just for nice draw synergy. You seem to be using the general as it was intended by using big spells, keep doing that. A good way to do that is by using X spells, because they will always add an experience counter to you.
