I own the card, but haven't fit it in the deck. It's actually pretty good if you can get it into play as the turn you combo off you'll just need mana and have a lot of cards in hand. The issue is... I've never had time to cast it. Five mana is a lot and in this deck spells that cost 5 or more mana should win the game or contribute directly to doing so.
Cadaverous Bloom can't be used to start the combo, but much like Dark Ritual, it helps get the combo off the ground faster. One you get going, it can also be used to fuel up the mana needed to cast Necromany, activate the Skytherix Haste ability on your Necrotic Ooze, or even be able to use it to cast available disruption during the combo. It works best in the Titan-loop version, where since you are drawing your entire deck, you don't need all 40 lands to loop, since you can loop a smaller deck at a lower density.
With the Titan version, I can see exiling cards actually becoming a benefit, as it will help you combo off more easily and allows you to simplify the explanation of the process. Also, having 40 mana available to you could help combo, just in case.
Starting to build this deck. Couple of questions. What are some trap cards I should avoid? What about Land based ramp instead of dorks? I feel dorks get wrapped up in board wipes quite a lot in EDH and have generally avoided them in past BG decks i have built. Also what do we do against permission decks?
The mana dorks are one of the major reasons the deck can win so early. They're simply at a better rate than most of the land ramp you could play. You're typically winning before all but the cheapest board wipes come down anyway. Not to mention you'll need fodder for Dread Return.
If you're playing a slower, less combo-y version of the deck the mana dorks are better served as ramp spells. I have a version in my sig and there are a few others floating around that play a more value game as opposed to the more competitive combo approach.
Replacing a handful of the worse dorks. While those cards are functional card disadvantage they provide the ability to recover from early-mid-game sweepers due to the increased lands on board.
It'll depend on the meta somewhat of course, but extra land drops are extremely powerful with Gitrog even on the combo plan.
I recently got around to building this deck and the deck is amazing! In a 4 man multiplayer EDH, I find myself winning once or twice out of 5-6 games. Our decks are pretty powered so we usually get games settled by turn 5 or turn 6, but overall it's been a good deck!
Some things I noticed:
1. Once your playgroup knows what Gitrog does and how the combo works, it gets progressively harder to keep it out for longer. Rather, my friends decide that it would be time to win once they realize that having me untap with it would make me win instead.
2. I noticed that the initial non-titan combo deck doesn't have an alternate way to win, I've tweaked the deck to remove things such as Thoughtseize and Cabal Therapy, as our Multiplayer games don't really get me to benefit from it much. In replacement, I've added some big mana creatures and wincons (Mike and Trike with Tooth and Nail, Regal Force + Avenger of Zendikar) and I'm looking to add more things for alternate wincons while keeping the Necrotic Ooze combo intact. It's also against indirect GY hate, and anti-"counter the flashback of Dread Return".
Lastly, Splendid Reclamation seems like a great card for the deck! Any thoughts on it?

The issue with those cards is that you still needs lands in hands for them to functionally do anything. I run both Exploration and Burgeoning in my list, but it's more a 75% list rather than the tuned combo deck being worked on here. Those cards just aren't reliable enough for the speed this deck needs.
Excuse my ignorance but how does the 'titan' version work. I'm assuming the use of an Eldrazi titan?
It uses the titan's to reshuffle your graveyard along with Lotus Petal to create infinite mana. There are a number of in depth descriptions on the first 2ish pages.

Thanks a lot for the reference! (Though, hey, if you want to link back to us too... ) (Though, I know that I've never finished the OP on here either)
It's really well written, and you cover a lot of the main points that were discussed in this thread. I certainly drew a lot of close parallels. I don't know if you want to discuss side options, such as what cards are cutable, and what other cheap disruption could be worth bringing in, depending on the meta?
With a few tweaks to the minor missing sections for primer threads, I think you could easily post it here and get it primered.
I was thinking about the interaction of Gitrog with Bazaar of Baghdad anda Dredge. Would like to know if the following is correct:
1. Activate Bazaar, changing the first draw for a Golgari Grave-troll dredge, dredging at least a land (Trigger Gitrog 1);
2. Change the second draw for another dredge hability, finding another land (Trigger Gitrog 2);
3. Discard both dredge cards and a land as a result of the discard of Bazaar (Trigger Gitrog 3);
4. Repeat dredging mechanics and trigger lot's of times more, as long as you get unlucky and do not hit a land.
My doubt is if i HAVE to draw cards as a result of Gitrog's triggers BEFORE discarding cards due to Bazaar's abillity.
I also would like to know a few other interactions with Bazaar of Baghdad on this deck.
Gitrog is a triggered ability, and those can't resolve while another ability (bazaar) is busy resolving. In fact, they won't even be put on the stack until bazaar is done resolving (no one gains priority).
