I have to say that this deck surprised me. At least in our meta. I have only played it (4th Feb 2014) maybe 5-6 times total and won three of the games. Maybe our meta just isn't prepared for this kind of deck. First win was with Helix Pinnacle + Serra's Sanctum etc. Second was with having about every tax/creature prevent (Humility+Night of souls's Betrayal etc) down, and then removing those and continuing with Angel beats when I could make several in a round while destroying everything everyone else put down (Enchanted Evening + Arenson). Third time was with Primal surge that nobody countered.
EDIT: Several games later I still think this is pretty nasty deck if meta is not full of "destroy all enchantments" -cards.
Our group isn't very lenient on breaking any official EDH rules, so I chose a real creature as my commander. I thought Cromat was the best choice for this deck as it is quite cheap and it really is a toolbox when the most important thing it can do is stay on board and maybe protect me too. It can block flying creatures, regen, protect itself from almost any wipes and also acts as deterrent for attacks on me with anything without indestructible or unblockable.
EDIT: And it's final ability is just borked with Spreading plague on the table.
Changes:
4.3.2014
Nothing to report.
6.6.2014
Zip. Enchantment creatures are still creatures so no for those.
17.5.2015
-Fertile Ground+Frontier Siege
-Future Sight+Hedonist's Trove Don't know if I should have removed Greed instead of Future Sight. With FS, I reveal everything I draw and it costs 3 blue to cast, while Greed saps life and costs mana to use (but does not get stuck on a land).
23.4.2016
-Hedonist's Trove+Grasp of Fate Hedonist is nice idea, but costs way too much. I might try it again some day, but Grasp of fate should provide me with cheap and quite effective protection.
19.7.2018
-Necropotence+Sandwurm Convergence Necro was still somewhat risky play. I have to see if I can work without it. Sandwurm gives me more proctection.
Hello. My answer is only 3 years late, sorry :).
Well, assuming you ever see this answer, I kinda stopped following new sets in MtG around 2018, as it seemed to become more work than fun. And whenever I happened to check what is going on, it always seemed more and more lunatic :D. Million different packs, boxes, sets, secrets, extras, moderns and such.
I have not changed this at all during the last 6 years, except for one thing. Last week I ordered Go-Shintai of Life's Origin to be my commander for this deck.
So sorry, no other changes for years. I have played my old decks once in awhile and they have worked quite well still (in kitchen plays, not competitive).
I have noticed that the new precons and such have so much synergy, though. You put stuff down from 2 mana onwards, then whenever you do one thing, seven other things happen as well. My old decks are mana-go-mana-go, until I get to 5-6 mana and then its one powerful card and go. There are some two or three-card combos, but no such synergies as current precons.
Ah, the only thing I even visited here again was that I'm copy-pasting my decks to Archidekt.
However, I have changed some cards and want to keep a list of my own.
