Player/Deck History:
I started playing magic in between the releases of Ice Age and Mirage and zombies have always been one of my favorite tribes (despite being so few of them at the time). I was ecstatic when Tempest came out as i had many new zombies to make my deck better. Over the years my zombie deck was always a mainstay during my legacy years. I started playing EDH about a year before the release of the first Commander product and i had tried to build a zombie tribal but i always felt something was missing it wasn't until the spoilers for Innistrad came out that i fell in love with Grimgrin. The deck was relaunched as a Nekusar deck once he was spoiled but lately i haven't enjoyed my games with him so i decided to go back to my roots and start again.
So please welcome back.... Grimgrin's Zombie Apocalypse
How does it win?:
Well the first way (which is the way that I find the most fun) is to swarm your opponents with a massive horde of undying flesh. Going on from that you can storm your opponents out, you can also drain the life out of them or you could rip apart their whole side of the field so all they have left is tapped lands, no creatures left in play and zero cards in hand.
Was just at GP Vancouver played in four four player side event games, went 2-1-1.
Game one i won with a horde of rampaging zombie tokens + Lich Lord of Unx doing his thing.
Game two was a 4 player draw, one guy was about to lose so he cast Quicken and drew into Earthquake. Rest of the table (myself included) had a WTF looks on our faces. But it was fun.
After GP Vancouver i got a lot of good feedback from a bunch of players (which included several pros) and i realized while Enter the Infinite can get really stupid really quickly with Omniscience it isn't needed as i have better ways to draw cards.
As for the Pontiff, it was inevitably going to be added to the deck it was just a question of when.
Have you considered Frantic Search as a source of card draw, graveyard filler, and no tempo loss? In my zombie tribal deck I've found it great. Can also be used to untap cabal coffers for some really fun plays. Not sure where you would cut - Lim Dul's Vault? Read the Bones?
Lately i have been thinking of cutting Butcher of Malakir, Omniscience and maybe Grave Betrayal as I want to reduce some of the decks costs, but so far it hasn't been a factor in any games i have played since the deck's reincarnation.
I am still undecided at the moment. I just put the deck back together before GP Vancouver so i am still testing how things work.

Thanks for your input.
I'm surprised I haven't even commented on your list before, I used to reference it until I decided what I wanted to do with my own deck (thanks for that, by the way).
I wanted to chime in on Frantic Search. I've used it before when I had a reanimator heavy build and it was absolutely fantastic for filling the yard, grabbing fuel, and untapping some of the key lands you have mentioned above. Works very well when you want a bit more out of your Zombie Apocalypse. If you're looking for another draw spell, I'll echo what OutcryQQ has said and say consider it.
Some closing comments, I'm glad to see you've switched back to Grimgrin from Nekusar. He's very build around me and there's not much variety that you can have in a deck where he's your General, and I feel that Grimgrin just has so much more potential for deck themes and paths to victory than the new kid. Welcome back, MaelstromX.
Yeah Nekusar is very one-dimensional and general-centric. I always had fun with this deck so i decided to rebuild it. Nekusar was boring to me after a month or so.
Managed to get quite of few games this weekend between pre-release rounds as well as afterwards and Butcher of Malakir really came through for me many times, so i won't be cutting right now. Omniscience however, continued to disappoint me so its axed for Frantic Search
Both corpses are too over costed for what they're need to do (even with Rooftop Storm). Corpse Connoisseur and Nim Deathmantle only work in one combo each and i hardly ever get to use them for it.
Opposition is a card that I have been wanting to add for awhile as it works so well with my tokens. Servant of Tymaret works well with my life loss theme, Siren of the Silent Song is a nice control card, and i love the fact that they say each opponent and work off Opposition
In my experience most of the "lords" have been a waste of space. I have tested all of them in my old Grimgrin/Nekusar thread. the only exceptions so far are, Diregraf Captain as it fits in with my life loss theme and Zombie Master which is awesome with Urborg.
While Bribery is a really good card it doesn't suit the deck anymore. Thousand-Year Elixir helps the deck with the untapping of Grimgrin as well as the new inspired zombies I recently added (and as a bonus lowers my curve a bit).
Awesome primer! I had a fun Grimgrin deck that was similar to yours, but you have some nice combo/synergy cards that I didn't think of using before. I ended up rebuilding mine as a Thraximundar control/aggro zombie tribal with Grimgrin as a lieutenant. It still needs some upgrading but it is also super fun and recommended. What I like is that I get more flexibility with a little red thrown in the mix with cards like Vandalblast and Mystic Retrieval. Tymaret, the Murder King is also a great recursive sac outlet that adds to the zombie tribe. Not to mention that Thraxi is a force to be reckoned with as soon as he hits the board.
This deck started with Grimgrin and then I experimented with Nekusar/Thrax for a bit but ultimately went back to Grimgrin as I always had fun when he is at the helm of the deck. I'm not saying that Nekusar/Thrax are bad it just that they don't suit my personal style.
Yeah Grimgrin is definitely fun to play in more of a combo build. I like the more control/midrange build that Thraxi offers and so far I'm enjoying it more than Grimgrin. I still have the ability to combo out with Grimgrin in the deck as well. Zombies FTW
My deck is more of a fusion of the three main archetypes, but I have been adding more control cards to the deck since its first conception to help with different situations and I liked the results thus far.
It has also been my belief that the deck suffers a little bit when a third colour is added (at least it felt like it did when i tried it). But anyways to each their own. If you have a version of your deck list around somewhere i wouldn't mind taking a peek at it.
While testing Fatestitcher, it got really insane in two games I played this past week by tapping and untapping (in conjunction with Opposition and Thousand-Year Elixir) Siren of the Silent Song. I managed to strip my opponents remaining few cards and safely combo win both times using different combos.
The reason for Bloodghast is I am trying to stick to a tribal deck as much as possible and the five non-zombies I have now do far better for what the deck does than it could.
As for Skullclamp... ... ... Well as they say, back to the old drawing board.
Have you considered Kokusho, the Evening Star? I think it would be very powerful in this list, especially considering the number of sac and recursion outlets you run.
Pontiff of Blight is too mana intensive and Kokusho can take out a big chunk on life in one go and he's been on my mind for awhile.
Grave Betrayal is a good card but costs a too much as my meta is getting to be a bit faster. Tombstone Stairwell has managed to worm its way in after some resistance on my part but on how the card is worded it works really well with Eldrazi Monument.
As good as Frantic Search is, Skullclamp is at least twice as good and i feel really stupid for overlooking it in the first place.
While Hinder is a great card it just sits in my hand most of the time. Nim Deathmantle was taken out because of its lack of use, but with there being a few more uses now and the fact I have been having trouble getting some combos off without it, I decided to bring it back in.
All in all I am happy with the changes, but as usual they're subject to change. So far none of them have bit me in the butt through out testing, but time will tell.
Same effect with lower casting cost and also reduces the number of non-zombie creatures in the deck (which isn't that big of a deal but it is a nice bonus).
Thanks to DNC at Heros of the Plane Studios for the awesome banner

Works very well when you want a bit more out of your Zombie Apocalypse. If you're looking for another draw spell, I'll echo what OutcryQQ has said and say consider it.
If you're looking to cut Butcher of Malakir, Omniscience or Grave Betrayal to lower your CMC, have you considered using Crypt Ghast? There's the obvious synergy with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth but it would also allow you to cast higher CMC cards with ease, allow for larger Exsanguinates and Read the Runes, would allow you to get more mileage out of Geth, Lord of the Vault and possibly Lich Lord of Unx activations, and there's also the build in extort which is never a bad thing.
Some closing comments, I'm glad to see you've switched back to Grimgrin from Nekusar. Crypt Ghast seems like it could fit in rather easily in place of Butcher of Malakir.
I am a little wary on cutting Grave Betrayal at the moment as it has been very good for me.
