One card that I've been very happy with, and see missing from a lot of lists, is Mystic Retrieval. It acts as the second and third copy of any spell in the deck, as well as being able to "reset" cards with Overload and Flashback.

Mystic Retrieval is an excellent card for recycling wheels or even casting many of them in the same turn if you have an insane amount of mana at your disposal. However, a 4cmc card at sorcery speed just to retrieve one instant or sorcery from my graveyard doesn't cut it as a 1/99 in my build. I could use that space for something more useful or dangerous. There are many more wheels than the ones I run, and I don't run anymore due to the fact that the amount I have is enough. Sure, it could also bring back to my hand a tutor or a Cyclonic Rift or something else that could be useful, but in all honesty my deck can live without it.

Would something like Bösium Strip merit a look at in this deck?

Be a lemming hunter. Don't be a lemming. Really, all you had to do was explain to him the popularity metric, not give him the lemming hunter manifesto...
I've played with Nekusar since it was released and this thread was by far the best source of help I have had. Now I feel comfortable enough to give some feedback based on my latest experiences.
At first we started to play EDH at my LGS when Commander 2013 arrived there. I bought Mind Seize and in the first week I realized Nekusar was a better pick than Jeleva as general, then I switched to him.
In the next months I tried to get closer to MCR's list spending a lot of money on cards and the other players got scared of my EDH deck and stopped to invest on their decks, and the format got almost dead here.
Luckly in the last two months we got back playing EDH every Tuesday's afternoon. And I had the chance to tweak my list to survive the hate.
Basically this is how it goes:
1º - I'm the first and only target of the table, no matter who my General is. (Nekusar draws hate!)
2º - Once I have been eliminated from the game, the other players will fight each other.
Two weeks ago I won a game in a big table with 7 players on turn 4. In the next turn I was going to be dead but I hit the Mind Over Matter + Temple Bell combo. The next game I switched deck and I was eliminated in the first turns, the match took almost 2 hours and now we decided to not go more than 4 players in a table. (which is good for me!)
First I'll show what I have changed in MCR's list and why:

Nekusar is my favorite commander and I have experimented with a lot of cards and I noticed you dont run yours nearly as aggressive. I will post my deck list tonight but mine is really good at keeping the board clear or winning by turn 5. It messes up anybody's chance of an infinite combo

I'm curious to see your build. Though I will say that most of the people who posted here post on the thread linked a few comments up. I'd suggest seeing the builds we've got over there.
I just looked at that link there are some pretty impressive deck lists there. I noticed not a lot of people are running nin the pain artist, spell crumple, telepathy, toxic deluge, cyclonic rift or whirlpool warrior. I love putting out telepathy on turn 1

That link is basically the de facto thread for Nekusar now. Before you posted in here, the last post was in October, basically because we combined the decks in here and made a newer thread for use as a community thread. That is where 99% of the discussion concerning Nekusar is now.

this really comes down to preference, testing, and play style. Maybe meta as well. A lot of decks run no counter-magic. I, personally, only run 2. Also keep in mind, if the card doesn't push us further it probably should not be run. Unless you are running a critter heavy build (which I'm not), there are better creatures you could run than those two. Deluge is a fantastic card. Not sure I'd want to kill any of my minimal critters unless I'm already winning. Which at that point, we are already winning. I'd give better thoughts if I want sleepy and if want late. I may come back to this later to give better thoughts.
Such as...?

Many of the added cards haven't showed up on the table yet...
Glacial Chasm is a house! I've won a lot of games thanks to it. It stops Spiteful Visions and pain lands/accelerators from hurting you.
Tolaria West can search Chasm, another land or Pact of Negation.
Expedition Map and Hex Parasite are mainly for tutoring Chasm and rebooting it.
Damnation and Chain Reaction are pretty decent board wipes on multiplayer.
I hope Propaganda No Mercy and Thunderstaff can save me from early threats.
Flash cards are there to surprise your opponents and hold Nekusar until last opponent's EOT so you can have the best of Nekusar.
Helm of The Ghastlord is just insane. Also Anvil of Bogardan + Notion Thief.
Half of the deck(50 cards) is dedicated to Lands(35) and Accelerators(15).
Most of the time I can combo on turn 4-6. I just remember losing two times with Nekusar on the last month. And I use him at least twice a week.
