I was thinking of creating an Edric deck instead of Grand Arbiter and was wanting to mirror your list to start me out.
I haven't really been playing MtG lately, but this deck is always consistent, and it has never disappointed me. It has a pretty straightforward gameplan, and as long as you follow it, you should be fine.
I just built this deck, and its been loads of fun to play. I play fewer 1 mana creatures, mostly so I could test out the other cards. One little gem I have tried is Curse of Inertia. I usually target the player most likely to have flyers. It can tap down blockers, untap Gaea's Cradle, Maze of Ith, or your own creatures for pseudo vigilance.
Teferi's Veil has been awesome every time it resolved. I don't find myself needing blockers most of the time, and this card removes the threat of sorcery speed board wipes. I would play this over Envelop.

Thanks for the response, I'm going to start building it up. I run an Edric in my Kraj deck as a added utility dude (he and acidic slime are the only creatures without counter based abilities) and Im never disappointed

I don't like Curse of Inertia in the deck, only taps or untaps one thing.
I can see Teferi's Veil being good, but most of the time a counterspell in hand does the job. I wouldn't blame anyone for running it though.
Savor the Moment doesn't quite work either, sure it's an Explore, and you can attack with creatures you played on the previous turn, but that's about it, it's not a game-winning spell like the other Time Walks.
I don't believe Genesis Wave belongs in this deck either, but then again it depends on what you're doing with the deck - my goal is to play creatures with evasion, draw a ton of cards, chain Time Walks and win, anything else just slows our game-plan down. I would say Craterhoof Behemoth is better than Genesis Wave, but he does still cost 8 mana.
Hey Toonami, Just wanted to follow up. So I built the deck. I'm only missing a mox diamond and eladamri currently. Im running steely resolve and a sky shroud ranger while i wait to get them. You were 100% right; this deck is consistent. I only lost the first few play test games. I am extremely impressed with the list you've thrown together and can't give you enough praise. I am yet to throw it into the multiplayer scene; but i am super excited to.
Thanks a ton!

That's great to hear, you're welcome. Just make sure to switch it up so people don't get sick of the deck, lol.
As you can see, It is very similar to Toonamiguy's list, as it was the basis for my list. I really didn't like the vanilla 1-mana conditional evasive creatures, so I added some 2cmc ones that aren't just beaters. I really love Chasm Skulker and Cloudseeder, they have put in a lot of work for me.
Thoughts?
Ninjaedit: I don't run any stax-y artifacts because I really hate not letting other players play the game.

I used to run more 2 mana creatures like Invisible Stalker when I started playing the deck too. As you'll see in the Change Log, over time they just kept getting cut for 1 drops. Imo things like Chasm Skulker and Cloudseeder are just too slow for this deck, as the plan is to win just as soon as possible. But that's just my opinion and the experience I've had, different things will work in different playgroups for different people.

I did as well, but I really didn't like drawing Cloud Sprites after a wrath, and Cloudseeder is a great draw in that situation. I also feel like I always have a lot of mana, plus they are more fun!
Notes: Origins Update. Faerie Miscreant - a 1/1 flyer that is both a Faerie and a Rogue, perfect for the deck. Replaced Trygon Predator which was one of the few high CMC creatures still remaining.
I realize it's been a while but was wondering if this deck is being updated still.
Caustic Caterpillar is worth it. I used it to destroy Ghostly Prison after he already had Propaganda out. That sucked. I tutored for the Caterpillar with GS Zenith and popped it.

Ah man, I can't believe it's been over a year since I had a chance to update any of my decks. Unfortunately just haven't had time to play. I do want to at some point though - just not sure when...
Unsubstantiate is less conditional than Envelop - the opponent shouldn't have enough mana to recast the spell on the same turn, and by the next we'll have drawn another counter.
Beast Within has been on the chopping board for quite some time, going to try out Wrap in Vigor over it and see how many times it's a dead card.
With the amount of cards this deck discards, Temporal Trespass is almost always going to cost 3, making it a better wincon than Biomass Mutation.

Noxious Revival is so awesome I'm playing the strictly worse Reclaim as well. Gotta do the Time Warp again!!!
As far as time warps go, I don't have Capture of Jingzhou, so I am trying out Savor the Moment. If anything, it makes Druid's Repository and Curse of Inertia much better.
Any thoughts on Genesis Wave? Or is it strictly worse than Craterhoof Behemoth?

Other considerations included Caustic Caterpillar & Honored Hierarch.

I haven't tried it, but I don't think the deck needs it. It costs 4 mana, which is a lot in this deck - and it doesn't even win me the game.
Caustic Caterpillar is worth it. I used it to destroy Ghostly Prison after he already had Propaganda out. That sucked. I tutored for the Caterpillar with GS Zenith and popped it.
Another option: Waterfront Bouncer or Crystal Shard to bounce Eternal Witness numerous times.
Ah man, I can't believe it's been over a year since I had a chance to update any of my decks. Unfortunately just haven't had time to play. I do want to at some point though - just not sure when...
I don't love Caustic Caterpillar, mainly because it doesn't have evasion, but I could consider running it over Beast Within?
-1 Grayscaled Gharial
-1 Jukai Messenger
-1 Merfolk Spy
-1 Marsh Boa
-1 Envelop
-1 Beast Within
-1 Biomass Mutation
+1 Mausoleum Wanderer
+1 Slither Blade
+1 Mist-Cloaked Herald
+1 Siren Stormtamer
+1 Unsubstantiate
+1 Wrap in Vigor
+1 Temporal Trespass
Notes: Finally able to play Magic again, so have updated the deck with the past 10 sets!
Mausoleum Wanderer, Slither Blade, Mist-Cloaked Herald & Siren Stormtamer were practically made for this deck. Cut creatures with less reliable evasion to fit them.
