Here's the list of my Vendilion Clique EDH deck. It's quite simple, it just look for 21 point of commander damage.
20% of the deck are counterspells of some sort (without taking in account the effects of some cards like Venser, Shaper Savant or Time Stop.
The are some cards in he deck that my look a little subpair, like Sunder and the Time Stop itself, however the first one works against as some kind of finisher (I cases when you have full board control, in some sort of Armageddon way), and the Time Stop works against uncontereable -Eldrazi- creatures as an option to Mindbreak Trap and Venser, Shaper Savant.
Two of the other three creatures in the deck have flash, to avoid tapping on my turn. Note: I count the Phyrexian Metamorph as an utility artifact instead of a creature (as an improved Sculpting Steel).
Run four equipments: Runechanter's Pike cc: 2 Can be searched with Muddle the Mixture, give first strike to the Vendilion and in mid/late game can make one-shoot kill with the Inkmoth Nexus. Umezawa's Jitte, also with cc: 2 works as control against swarm decks and helps protecting Vendilion. Sword of Feast and Famine nice protection and the card advantage really helps, untapping lands generally only is usefull in the turn you play/equip the sword. Sword of Fire and Ice also nice protection and card advantage, and the 2 damge is god against swarm decks too.
The main idea of the deck is pretty much the same that in any Vendilion Clique Deck, play it ASAP and aim for 21 points of damage. However, there are at leas 2 ways more o winning in this deck: First the Combo Vendilion Clique/Hinder/Spellcrumple + Tunnel Vision. The other way is the infect damage of Inkmoth Nexus (especially if is equiped).
The other two creatures in the deck have flash, so it avoid tapping on my turn.
Just run two equipments: Runechanter's Pike and Umezawa's Jitte, because the cc: 2. The Swords of X and Y really don't works as it means tap 3 mana on turn 3 (the turn the Vendilion Clique is supposed to enter in play), and 2 more mana the next turn to equip, this means a great tempo waste.
There is no planeswalker either for the same reason that the Swords are left out. Taping 4 mana to play Jace, The Mind Sculptor, is very risk because you want to protect the Vendilion Clique as it's you main winning condition.
Although I'm not a Clique player, I liked the deck in general. However, I do agree that Aether Spellbomb seems questionable. Most of the time, if it's for tempo I'm not sure which creature with pro-blue would be particularly devastating.

There is no planeswalker, taping 4 mana to play Jace, The Mind Sculptor, or 5 to play Tezzeret the Seeker is very risk because you want to protect the Vendilion Clique as it's you main winning condition.
Besides the 11 artifact cards (incluiding 3 mana acelarator and a creature), the deck only have 5 more sorcery speed cards, this is to reduce the need of tapping on your turn. Note: Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, and Time Spiral really doesn't count as tapping, so only 13 cards makes tap on your turn. From this 13 cards, 4 cost one mana: Preordain, Ponder, Sensei's Divining Top and Relic of Progenitus; 6 cost 2 mana: Sapphire Medallion (wich also works as mana accelarator), Runechanter's Pike, Umezawa's Jitte, Spellskite, Spreading Seas and Standstill (almost never played before the Clique); 4 cost 3 mana (the only wich really interfers with the Vendilion Clique casting cost): Vedalken Shackles, the Swords (again, almost never played before the Clique) and Phyrexian Metamorph (wich cc is 4, but most of time is played for 3); and 2 cost 5 (Bribery) or more mana (Tunnel Vision), wich really doesn't affect casting the commander.
