Hello! I'm looking for advice and tips on this deck!

-1 Overrun
+1 Garruk Primal Hunter


-1 Scryb Ranger
+1 Primeval Bounty

-1 Ant Queen
+1 Time of Need

Agreed need to replace the ranger. Perhaps with a sorcery that finds legendaries I can't remember the name now. Fauna shaman was there to find rosfellos.

Well, I don't think you have enough creatures for Fauna Shaman, and for the Extraplanar Lens I'd recommend you use Snow-covered Forests so your opponents that have green won't get a mana boost from it.

In my meta everyone uses Snow-Covered Lands. Basic forests are actually less used..Lol.

I would run Rude Awakening alongside Early Harvest.

The only thing I had against Rude Awakening was sorcery speed. I might test it again though

I can't imagine how overwhelming stampeded or overrun would deserve a spot over Rude Awakening. They are pretty weak and I would consider removing them.

Good point. I would see overrun being replaced. Kamahl does it better anyways.

Although some parts of this deck seem really killer to me, there are a number of things I don't like:

1. Scryb Ranger: The only creatures in your deck that are really untap-abusable are Fauna Shaman and Rofellos, and neither of those seem worth an extra slot to untap them.
2. Yeva, Nature's Herald/Vedalken Orrery: Why take two slots up just to give stuff that doesn't need flash flash? Nothing in this deck is really valuable when cast during an opponent's turn or on the stack, especially not the creatures, so it just appears pointless to use these cards.
3. Fauna Shaman: To agree with Grim Zealot, there aren't enough creatures or good enough ones in my opinion to justify playing this card. I'd instead use the slot on another buff/mana effect or something.
4. Silklash Spider: Isn't this just a nothing card? Do you need a card that just kills flying stuff? Do you have such a huge problem with it to warrant its inclusion. The only way I can understand this is if it's a meta call, which is totally possible.
5. Patron of the Orochi: Too win-more and removal-attracting for me. If you got to 8 mana with Omnath and aren't fearing removal, then you should've already won the game.
6. Eldrazi Monument/Akroma's Memorial: Since you're not running a mass amount of creatures, and this is mainly a voltron deck, why not use swords or Auras instead of stuff that's more expensive and powers up your whole arm - wait, you don't have that many.
7. Skullclamp/Greater Good/Momentous Fall: I think that these, when used, should only be for large creature count decks that are aiming to sacrifice them for value, not for the opposite. This looks like the opposite to me. Although, I suppose sacrificing a huge Omnath to Greater Good/Momentous Fall in response to death does seem really good, so I guess you could include those.
8. Pretador's Rapport: While this can give you a lot of life in select situations, a lot of the time it won't, and the card will be dead. Even when it does give life, do you really want this slot? I think it could be used for better purposes.

Sorry for the rant, I do actually see a lot of potential in this deck. Keep working on it and it'll be amazing

2. The reason is to flash in Omnath to not lose your mana when he dies. Competitive metas run more spot removal and a high threat general like Omnath will die. Some people want to run all the possible flash outlets like Alluren and Winding Canyons as well I only run Orrey and it works well. Flashing in Kamahl in response to a wrath is fuffiling as well.

3. I agree. Survival of the Fittest is way better.

4. Good decks run answers. And Silklash Spider is THE answer to fliers.

5. Everything in an Omnath deck should be attracting. Patron gives your creatures vigilance while producing a ton of mana on each players turn.

6. Agree (except for the part about voltron. I'll get to that later)

7. Momentous Fall and Greater Good are two of the best cards an Omnath deck can have, He should never ever ever cut either one of these. Ever.

8. I agree. Cards that just gain life are bad.


Having piloted Omnath for 3 Years I can say that focusing on making him a voltron general is the weakest way you can play him. He is best built as a psuedo-combo/value engine. I routinely draw 81 cards, make a billion mana and can win about 10 Different ways on turn 6. This is a hyper competitive meta.

The best thing about Omnath is you can STILL get 21 general damage without trying.

Green has the strongest draw in the format, and Omnath utilizes that ability. I chain draw spells into each other while dropping doublers and land untaps to not run out of steam. And it's incredibly consistent.

Fair enough, you make good points. I'm not super experienced with Omnath, so I was just judging on what I could see. However, I still think Silklash Spider should be replaced with a more valuable card, as I just don't see one flying answer being that much useful game after game.

Soul's Majesty, Garruk, Primal Hunter, and Momentous Fall, along with the already mentioned Greater Good, are all great. Omnath, Locus of Mana can ramp by himself. He needs card draw to take advantage of his ability.

Souls majesty may draw me far more cards than I can use.

It would help if you kept a change log so we can see what changes you make. Since I don't know your list by heart, it's hard for me to see the changes you made.

Something I discovered the hard way was people hate city of solitude. Everyone Ganges up on me and has me to 10 life... Uncounterable genesis wave for 40 into memorial ends games, that's why I run a memorial.
Predators rapport is simply there because niv mizzet is in my meta and I can get outside of burn range.
