sorry I know I'm dredging up a slightly old thread but i was searching Mayael and I found your thread.
Anyway, ctrl+F and I was astounded to find no mention of Seedborn Muse activate Mayael EVERY turn? I could not imagine not using it in my Mayael.
I used to use the Muse, but found that making Seedborn AND Mayael stick was nearly impossible. My opponents would never allow it.
Also, Mayael builds don't run very many instant spells, which would make Seedborn infinitely more useful outside of her synergy with Mayael. As it stands, the only other creature common to Mayael builds that benefits from Seedborn is Godsire. There are some utility creatures like Kiki-Jiki and Elvish Piper too, but the count is low.
If you're able to get Seedborn to stick with support creatures and equipment buffs, then by all means run it!
The powerpuff girls are nice, obviously. I will also try to find room for Tyrant of Discord, though I play a more budget and troll build. Maya on her own is kinda random and with such random effects you can spice up games quite a bit.
Good spells that make Mayael not random and are symmetrical with the deck's strategy:
Yeah, I know, Skyshroud Claim is something I've been meaning to work in for a while. I haven't been too happy with Sylvan Library when I played it (I rarely have the life to spare in paying for the cards since I'm usually pretty high on the target list), and WAT over Warstorm Surge is a flavor choice.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
No changes yet, but do you think this bad boy's worth a slot?
I've been eyeing this card too. I want to fill a creature slot that deals with giant fireball-type effects, but I feel like platinum emperion does a better job with that utility. The big question: is having trample worth using a card that is a bit worse than emperion mechanically-speaking?
I think EDH games are rarely close enough to where putting your life total back up to 7 is going to be relevant.
if your life total is at 7, you're lucky if you don't loose. all an opponent has to do is get rid of the wurm and then kill. in a multiplayer game, this is going to happen pretty quickly and easily. If I have 7 life left in a game, people are going to kill me as fast as possible because if my mayael deck has been doing what it's supposed to do, I have shown everyone that I have the potential to wreck them fairly quickly if I'm not dealt with asap. My deck generally runs like this:
- really spooky board presence
- someone sweeps
- in a strangely short amount of time my board presence is spooky again
- someone sweeps
- do something really spooky like tooth and nail for realm razer and tyrant of disachord knocking a player or two out of the game
- whosever is left scrambles to get rid of realm razer and beat the S**t out of me before I win.
at this point if I'm focusing on "don't loose" with elderscale wurm instead of "win the game ASAP" I'm probably going to loose. The reason I run emperion is because it's good at any point in the game. if it simply discourages people from attacking me early on, I feel I've gotten the value I need out of it. elderscale can't give me that kind of value.
if your life total is above 7, emperion is a better card to have (unless life gain is a one of the themes in the deck...maybe). So unless someone explains something I haven't thought of... I'm sticking with emperion.
Tyrant is interesting. At worst he blows up a land and is 7/7 fat for the battlefield. I like a spread of various effects laced through the deck too.
I'd like to reiterate that at best he invites realm razor out to play and just wreck someone's day.
my dream combo will probably happen once in the next 50 games if I'm lucky, but it's just so worth it because of how funny it will be. it requires gobs of mana...
Is there some reason that this deck runs where ancients tread as apposed to warstorm surge? I can see flavor, I used it for the same reason back in the day, but surge is like aura shards for utility creatures.
also, just an anecdote. One time I tooth and nailed and the guy next to me reverberated it, fetching kiki-jiki and restoration angel. After spending 2 minutes going through my deck trying to find an answer, the only thing I had in my deck left that was relevant was tyrant of discord. 1 minute later he's complaining about loaded die and how stupid tyrant is after his board got wiped.
Ever though of Ulvenwald Tracker in this deck? It's pretty vulnerable, but you can get it back with Sun Titan and the like and it offers the utility of Contested Cliffs but not limited to beasts. Seems potentially very strong.

Ulvenwald Tracker is a free removal spell with the right creature on the field and is worth the utility creature spot, however he is quite squishy but the risk is worth the reward.

Considering the amount of protection we run, It shouldn't be too hard to keep him on the field.

Strictly flavor. WAT has flavor text from my general on it--I can't NOT run it.

I suggest Brawn; while he does enable trample to all your fat beats, most of them have trample of other evasion making him not as necessary imo but I could be wrong.

+1 to Fires. Anger is too conditional, Crossroads is too hefty a penalty, and Fervor, well, pay the green instead for Fires and get the boost. The +2/+2 is great with Gisela, Mosswort Bridge, and Greater Good.
After years of playing Mayael, I have found her greatest strength to be with enchantment tool boxing. I run 4 enchantment tutors, one of them in the form of Academy Rector which I also have 5 ways to tutor for. In essence, I have 9 paths to find whatever enchantment I need, be it for removal, draw, beatdown, protection, mana acceleration, tutoring, or recursion.
Ugh, academy rector, why you gotta be such an expensive foil =< Knew I should have picked one up when I had the chance. Yeah, I agree now on Brawn--he's gonna get the axe for Rector and I'll just add some enchantment that gives trample or something. Any good trample-granting enchantments that Rector can fetch?
Never liked Urabrask the Hidden cause it doesn't activate on Mayael, and I rarely felt the haste was relevant due to Mayael or your cheating mechanisms putting fat on the board at end of turn.
EDIT: Wow, the only global thing that grants trample is Primal Rage. What about Roughshod Mentor? I think I'm gonna give him a try.
Most of the guys in your list have has, but I'd recommend Kessig Wolf Run if you're not already running it as a great trample enabler. Just for fun I'll also suggest Rancor because 1) It's only one mana to cast to anyone and 2) It recurs as long as it gets attached on a body.
