Eh, my deck is what it is. Putting any sort of permanent-based threat or committing more than 0% to the field would really make it a totally different deck. I built my CoA from the ground up and I'm proud of how strong it is, I just have to accept that it's not a deck I can use in polite company.
I totally agree with your assessment of why this deck always becomes archenemy, it's sort of hard to avoid. Generally the only way I've figured is to avoid using the corpse dance until you can handle the hate, but that's hit-and-miss as most tutors are conditional and even if you use an unconditional one, people who have played against the deck will know what's up. That said, as long as you're playing a deck as the archenemy, mine is pretty stellar because it generates so much virtual and regular CA it's just ridiculous. Usually I only care about, like, 5-10% of people's decks. Plus it's got so much recursion, counters, and tutors that it's impossible to stop it.
I am glad I am not the only one that is crazy enough to play a land deck. I would like to add a suggestion. Squandered Resources with Faith's Reward. I love this combo with most of the card in your decklist. For example High Market and Eternal Witness infinite life and mana. Not saying its the most efficient combo but sure it fun.
What an awesome archetype! I think I've chosen my second EDH deck. I like running more lands and fewer spells. I also like the Gate plan - extra colour fixers that can back into a win.
I haven't read all the posts but could someone explain to me how come Dark depths works with Thespian's Stage and not Vesuva? And how it takes the counters off?

If Vesuva comes into play as a copy of Dark Depths it comes into play with the counters on it., if Thespian Stage comes into play it won't have any counters, you can then target Dark Depths and because you don't have counters it becomes a Marit Lage.
What might it do over the existing mana rocks and would it be worthwhile after a child wipe? That is how i evaulate artifact choices as i go on. "Do i want this back over chromatic lanturn?" Or other indestructable mana rocks? "Is q a mana rock really what i wanna topdeck?"
In other builds: depends on how often youre wiping with child. Ill let those build's and their owners speak on their views on it, but ive noticed a trend of few mana rocks, if any. Mostly just lantern for mana fixing.
Ok got it thanks. Btw if I'm too poor for tabernacle what else would you put in? And of you were on a budget would you rather do the vivid lands or shocklands?

legion - coalition relic (and, imo, chromatic lantern and every other mana rock not named darksteel ingot) is bad for the deck because it gets killed by child when it dies. Now, sure, you COULD recur it, and you COULD think you won't set off child very often so it'd be worth it, BUT you're playing green. So for a similar cost you could just use a ramp spell that will be nearly as efficient (or sometimes more efficient) to get the same mana boost, except that it won't get killed by child of alara. I would rather have any ramp spell than a mana rock. Except maybe the ingot (I eventually cut ingot from my build but it's still fine).
between vivids and shocks...weird comparison, vivids are dirt cheap whereas shocks are moderately expensive. Bang-for-your-buck, vivids. Shocks are more likely to make it into your "final" manabase, although I only run 2 (WU and WG for emeria). If you can get fetches, shocks become a lot better. Without fetches, they're just decent. There's other lands I use that are actually cheaper than shocks - i like a few of the ODY filters, and the cycling lands are excellent thanks to lftl. If your budget is low, I'd go with cheaper options than shocks, they really only get good when you have fetches. If you think you can eventually get fetches, then go ahead and get shocks. Otherwise, there's lots of other, better, cheaper duals out there.

Definitely Vivids on a budget. The Planeshift bounce lands (of which I still use a few) are great color fixers as well. They also work well with landfall effects if your build likes those.
I typically dont care to recur mana rocks like Sol ring and Chromatic Lantern. The lantern is typically use to help cast Child earlier if I cant find Prismatic Omen, or to cast stuff like Last Stand. I can see it being cut for something more efficient.
In addition, I've updated the first page with the Maze's End variation. I'll keep tweaking at the different builds. I was also told a second build of this deck would be cool to have in the first page. If anyone wants their deck featured, let me know!
In addition, fixed the typo on the count of sorceries. Thank you.
I like the idea of land deck, also playing with all 5 colors is what makes me happy.
Sadly, there is a problem with the first post - deck count doesn't add up to 100 (missing Mountain?), and in the second one, Zuran Orb is listed twice.
fixed thank you! was doing heavy modifications to it and i'm bound to miss something!
Played two games last night; finally got to play Norin deck! He had out Confusion in the Ranks and Possibility Storm, so Omnath and I were unable to play any of our inhand answers. Luckily, I had prismatic omen and Exploration out. Stormed into a Last Stand with 8 lands out, and proceeded to win the game from there with Valakut triggers. It was hilarious.
Finally got primer status! Again, I'd love to continuing to add to it, so if anyone wants to volunteer a Maze's End or Seismic Assault variant decklist and short strat section, I'll add it to the first page!
Goes well with lots of lands, and can possibly help. We'll see.
Won a game today
T1: Crop Rotation Forest into Krosan Verge
T2: Drop Swamp and pass.
T3: Get KOTR from Oath of Druids, Crack Verge, grab Tropical Island and Plateau
T4: Dromar's Cavern, Phyrexian Arena
T5: Sylvan Scrying for Thespain Stage, Rites of Flourshing
T6+: EOT for last player search for Dark Depths. Play both lands and Child, search for high market, crack, nuke board and have marit lage.
From here, I play Prismatic Omen, search for Valakut, Last Stand Mimeoplasm out of the game, and Valakut -> Scapeshift with Vesuva and Thespain Stage as Valakut to win.
Opening post will be updated shortly with new proxies. Want to try these out before i buy.
-1 Verdant Catabombs + windswept heath
I need this slot to fetch WX mostly. And WX duals are typically cheaper, and I own a few. So there.
- Dromar's Cavern + tundra/hallowed fountain
proxied for now (will use the rav dual in other playgroups), but I need access to WU more than B. Especially when I run low on items to fetch with flooded strand. My build is primarily a Bant build with a strong black splash. Red barely exists. This is my first attempt at a modern rebuild of the manabase, from the old Seismic Assault build.
Here's my Maze's End/Seismic Assault build. I'd like to fit some bounce lands and Amulet of Vigor in for some extra speed, but I'm not convinced it's worth it. I mourn the loss of Primeval Titan. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=535511

Restore from Commander 2 looks like it has promise. Can return your own key lands when you cant find Crucible or LftL, or those get removed. Or, grab an opponents maze of ith or their cabal coffers to prevent ensanguinate or other degenerate things, or heck, just more colored lands
tempt with discovery is getting added asap. It could fail and just be a more expensive Sylvan Scrying that puts stuff onto the battlefield for us (key) or net us Thespain Stage, Dark Depths, Valakut, Maze of Ith, and Vesuva!
I understand Sunder+Seismic assault builds may not lile these. Mazes end lists probably will though!
Global Ruin was never going to be one sided for me. Ugh. Oh well.
Terravore has been a horrible beater ever since I went away from Worm Harvest. Which will get the cut soon.
And Windfall could make another appearance.
The following can be cut for Guildgates and Maze's End
Slime always hits something, Predator can hit more things over the course of a few turns, and comes down 2-3 turns earlier, but is bad for group politics and typically will eat removal early and often.
Slowly updating the primer. Maze's End has been added! Many weak wincons were dropped. Give me time and the primer will be good as new. Alot of links and text to remove and change.
Hmmm, I run a Junk Landfall deck that runs similar to Eggs, and one of my absolute favorite cards in there is Nantuko Cultivator. He normally draws me anywhere from 5 - 20 cards. For me he's an absolute house, not sure how good he'd be fore you.

He seems like absolute HOUSE in Seismic Assault/Borgybormos Enraged builds, especially post Sunder. You'll basically win, especially if you have Creeping Renaissance
- Garruk Wildspeaker + Ad Nauseam
His land untapping ability, while useful for gates still, his other abilities are fairly pathetic for the current deck. We dont run Worm Harvest anymore, so Overrun is meh. Beasts are poor blockers, etc.
However, I've been wanting Ad Nauseam to come back. Now that were up +8 lands to over 50% lands, this needs to come back to refill our hand, to be cast end of your opponent's turn to get some gas.
While Garruck may slip back in, and I hate running so many tutors and carddraw, this deck needs it to find business until more functional reprints are made of cards like Prismatic Omen. The blue one drop from Dragon's Maze may make an appearance to make our lands mountains.

Some thoughts:
Manabond is potentially awesome. Activate it with a Valakut plus Prismatic Omen in play after resolving a Creeping Renaissance, Sunder, Ad Nasium, or Treasure Hunt.
Piracy will probably cause your opponents to tap out in response to keep you off their mana. But with a Strom Cauldron out this is just awesome!
Mana Vortex seems like a good choice.

-Ensnaring Bridge + Global Ruin
Giving this card a shot to stop other ramp players and Esper players hard. Bridge isnt working with the current strat, and rarely wants to be seen.

Fixed! Thank you! The primer is a mess and is getting slowly updated. The deck just got a major overhaul so it's gonna take me some time!
