It's only really mana intensive early on due to lack of red sources, and that's because more other cards require those sources. That's not a bad idea, and could allow me to run more cool enchantments, or grab Sacred Ground in response to a huge boardwipe, and save all my lands and trigger ETB triggers! Nice catch

was nuts. Turn 3 i was pinging aggro decks off the board. Then got focused down and lost first, but note to self: dont explode out of the gate, and keep Glacial Chasm on the field.
In addition, lifegain might be cool off of a land to help support Glacial Chasm.
Innocent Blood is cheaper, and hits each player. It's more risky for us to be playing due to the fact we could kill Azusa. Run with Volrath's Stronghold.
Darksteel Ingot replaces Leige. I cant stress how worthless of a wincon Leige is. He can also be Briberied, which we are trying to cut down on those targets. A strength of this deck is the ability to have very little things worth stealing besides... our lands.
Leige was always mulligan'd, and even when I had eight mana, it's hard to justify dropping 8 mana on a non evasive creature that wont win me the game. And is a huge liability. Yeah.
And this deck needs colored artifact mana. At times, we really miss not taking advantage of it like other decks. But this one is THE BEST in this deck, as it survives the death of Child.
You don't run all of the support that I do, but I still think you'd find it quite worth it in your deck.
Noted. We both run different land decks, so yeah our support and creatures will def differ. But I cant believe I didnt think that would be an amazing idea. Thanks!
mana rock > more tutors. Need to avoid mass land hate more, need to get the colors I need earlier, and accel faster. We sac too many lands to afford less ramp.
Yeah, it enters play tapped. Bad. But it lets us hit three different colors, and most importantly, it's a Forest. Many times I'd have fetches hit nothing end game due to fetching or pitching all my Forests.
Lotus Vale was a tempo loss typically. It may also make its way back in, but with the current build, nope. It'd be great if we focused primarily on Assault and Harvest for wincons I'm sure. I've just never been happy to see it unless I was already winning. We'll see what works.
In addition, Ad Nauseam is looking worse and worse. I love drawing and casting it, but with all the life we lose through other effects we have, as well as throughout the game, Ad Nauseam is on the cutting block, probably for more removal.
Ad Nauseam, while useful, hurts more than helps. Like when it was in standard and extended, we dont use enough 0 and 1 cost spells and mana to take advantage of it. I would hurt myself for 15 life to draw 4-10 cards. Meh. Too variable without Scroll Rack, and basically, Glacial Chasm hurts us so much that Ad Nauseam was counterproductive.
Zuran Orb allows us to sacrifice lands that will die anyway, and gain some life to help with Glacial Chasm. It's not bad, especially since we run Crucible.
- Lightning Greaves + Last Stand
I typically am going for Valakut kill since it seems to be the most consistent and easiest to pull off, especially while under Glacial Chasm!!! Last Stand is better than Zuran Orb in gaining us life, protection, and CA, ESPECIALLY while under Prismatic Omen! I figure Last Stand would be a better card to topdeck than Greaves.
Greaves rarely matter since there's so little singleton spot removal in the format, and mostly wraths. I always mulled it away, and I cant even remember anytime I was happy to see it. It was a feelgood card.
I also was Wasting and Strip Mining his lands away, being able to reply these from the grave multiple times per turn was just plain mean.
PLUS I never let Glacial drop or hurt my life total.
I just hit him with Valakut+Prismatic Omen.
So each time I put Strip Mine into play, he took 3, then lost a land, and quickly folded. Fortunately, multiplayer games have enough removal to prevent this deck from being that mean.

If you're cutting Ad Nauseam, that opens up your curve to entirely new Shenanigans because you don't have to warry about trading blood to get them such as planeswalkers (Garruk Wildspeaker, any Jace... ever, any Liliana, Nicol Bolas, Karn Libertated, Elspeth, Venser, etc.), especially Koth of the Hammer given you pull out Prismatic Omen. Granted I understand you wanted to keep the curve low to keep doing multiple things in one turn... but you can move the curve slightly higher now.

....Why would you cuz Ad nauseaum? Its easily the best card in the deck.
You draw till you hit manabond, drop all lands into play or just straight up win with Seismic Assault
Here's where you're wrong; your deck and mine are completely different. You have 20 more lands, I have 20 more spells. My avg cmc is 2.79. Which means on average, if I draw five cards, I'm taking almost 15 damage. I dont know how you can argue that it's the best card in the deck, when I'm paying ~15 life and five mana for 5 cards. It has literally happened three games in a row for me. It's just too much of a silly casual card for this deck, when I'm now playing in semi competitive metas.
But right now, Ad Nauseam isnt working. I'm liking protecting myself with Glacial Chasm which hurts me a good deal as well without the Crucible and Azusa engine. I just had to make the cut.
ninjaedit: I also run almost 20 less lands than you. That makes a big difference too.
Ad naseum definitely isnt good with beseech the queen lol now that i look at your decklist more thoughrally
Have you tried out Treasure Hunt? It'll atleast let you draw 4-5 cards.
Another thing you can do is use Thespian Stage to make a copy of glacial chasm (or maze of ith) to be able to reset the upkeep to 2 life w/o having to sac a land.
Have you tried borb 2.0 and manabond? They both make Sunder nutty good.

Treasure Hunt suffers the same flaw: half my deck is still spells. I tried it in my original list to no luck. If i need to fill a slot, by all means I WILL run it, but Sunder is a definite possibility, Borb i dont think would work any better than Liege did, since I rarely wanted to see him or have the mana to cast him. He may get proxied.
Thespian Stage is a great suggestion. I originally didnt want to run it. Ill find a foil and add it in.
-1 Seedborn Muse + Reliquary Tower
Adding this was a derp. It should have been in here from the beginning. Plus Seedborn is just a card I dont like to see. Seems good on paper, but without Mikoroko or other things to do at instant speed, she loses gas. She DOES untap Maze of Ith, but meh. At 5 I'm usually trying to find a wincon or losing. She helps with neither.
-1 Dark Depths + Garruk Wildspeaker
DD seems legit, but suffers from being dead in opening hands, and a mana sink that I've only got there with once. With it's combo card I'm sure it would be better, but for now I need things that synergize with my deck. Garruck will untap allllll the lands and occasionally create a blocker. Then, overrun with worm tokens?
- Beseech the Queen + mystical tutor
with the move toward more specific sorcery speed answers, obvious. BtQ had an awkward mana cost as well, and rarely got cast.

meekstone kills KotR. And many other fatties of ours. Never really helped. Austere Command is a more specific answer to big board states.
-windfall + maelstrom pulse
I need more ways to deal with threats, especially at a table. Windfall was cute but never what I wanted, except to pull it off T2 or 3.
-Oblivion Ring + Reclaim
I need a way to recover wincons and pieces like Prismatic Omen. There isn't a land to do so yet, so this will have to do.
played two games today with some really nice people. There wasnt much removal, so I basically combo'd out game one, and overran game two.
g1: Got Prismatic Omen, Valakut, Vesuva, Azusa, and Crucible out. Was pinging for 6 per land until Scapeshift ended it with 48 damage. Everyone else conceded.
g2: Enough removal and permanent stealing was happening, but I got Oboro and double Valakut to stick. Once I got Prismatic Omen, I was pinging at a fast rate, but not fast enough. 46 power worth of Beast tokens and Rampaging Baloths got there however.
I'm realizing the deck is reaching a really good point, as I'm less disappointed by my hands and topdecks, and especially now that ive learned what's best to tutor for.
giving this card a shot since Mists had been lackluster as hell for me. Hated drawing it, hated seeing it. It came in handy so little against so many decks. Glacial Chasm does this protection better regardless.
The new Legendary Rule change makes me want to run Dark Depths back in the deck to use with Thespain Stage. Realms Uncharted on T2 (earliest) can set up a possible T3 20/20 flying indestructable token.
Due to the legend change, DD comes back in. Grabbing it with Tutors to combo with Thespian Stage is incredible. Realms Uncharted or Intuition almost ensures we get a 20/20 flying indestructable token soon. And with Crucible and accelerants, we can do it every turn!
establish control of the board and then have a combo finish that one shots one or more players.
The main difference is that you run a lot more nonland permanents.
I just noticed the reclaim... how is that working out for you? do you ever wish it was just straight up regrowth? Noxious Revival is strictly better, no?

Already run regrowth.
And yes, but I just traded mine away and need to find another.
Looking to add more artifact mana. Mystical tutor was underperforming and slow. Doesn't really work in this deck.

I support this inclusion. I run a GSZ in my own Rith Lands build, and I love it. Accelerate with a Dryad Arbor on t1 (in my build). Removal with Acidic Slime or Qasali Pridemage (in my build). Recursion with Eternal Witness. More tutoring with Knight of the Reliquary.
