What's the verdict on filter lands? Twilight Mire, Sunken Ruins, Flooded grove
I plan on cutting more lands when I finish up the 9 fetches for the deck and I was wondering if they would be better to cut than the basics.
I guess if you need to cut some lands for more fetches, they are a fine choice. I really liked the UB and GB filter lands back when we were able to run Prime Time to grab Urborg and Cabal Coffers since they could turn all that black mana into other colors, but they are not quite as useful now. They are still nice for allowing you to use a Forest to cast Counterspell and things like that, but they are definitely below duals, fetches, and shocks, and probably below the checklands since you will almost always have duals to make them come in untapped.
Would it be better to cut basics to maximize hermit druid?
I feel like cut too many basics I run out of targets for fetches late game and too many basics means hermit druid is less good.

I don't run Hermit Druid, and personally I don't think he's good enough unless your using him to dump your whole library and combo off. We really aren't looking to mill ourselves since it doesn't have any effect on the board state.
I ran druid when I was self mill and loved it. I didn't have the combo in it but still liked it. I ran around 18 basics at the time with a bunch of search for basic ramp, and it dumped a good portion mid game.
On TnN I run it without a "package", and it's still great. I feel its one of the cards that is pretty hard to make bad plays with.
I run just over half a dozen basics with lots of reanimation so druid has been consistently good for me.

Updated the decklist in the OP to reflect the changes that I have been trying out. I'm sad to cut Birthing Pod, but I think I like the deck better this way because it's a lot more focused than it was before.

Hi I'm Infecter4life and ironically I only play GBx decks.
No, I don't really think so. Like I said before, I often felt like the deck was trying to do too many different things all at once, so I decided it would probably work better to pick out a couple of those things and focus on those, while saving some of the other strategies for different decks. This build has way more potential to do scary things with bomb creatures that can take over the game quickly. The old build was awesome at grinding people out, but I always felt it was lacking the raw power or explosiveness to really dominate a game, which is something I feel this version brings a lot more of to the table. Ultimately it is going to take a lot more testing to say anything for sure, but I like where it is headed.
Hey dTrain, interesting changes. How was the switch from ramp creatures to mana dorks for you? Aren't Farhaven Elf, Solemn Simulacrum and others better than BoP and Deathrite Shaman? Or at least more reliable?
Yes, Farhaven Elf, Wood Elves, and Solemn Simulacrum are more reliable mana creatures, but Birds and DRS are much faster. DRS also acts as graveyard hate and gives late game reach if my fatties aren't getting it done, which is especially nice since it hits each opponent with the "lose 2 life" ability. The life gain is actually pretty relevant as well since this deck tends to do a lot of damage to itself. As I just said above, I have been trying to find ways to make the deck more explosive and less grindy / durdly. I am not 100% sold on the mana dorks yet since I have not had enough testing to say whether they are consistently good enough, but I think they have a lot of potential.

No because paying 4 for 1 and paying 1 for 1 are very different things solemn is a slow as crap card elf is ok but also slow and inefficient. Im slightly surprised he cut pod but not completely i like how your deck looks currently.

Would you have left the Pod in? I just felt like certain spots on the curve were getting a little bit too thin and I have a complete hole at 6 mana, so the options for Pod are a lot more limited than they were when I was running like 28 creatures with a lot more ETB guys. Ever since the Prime Time ban there has been this giant empty spot at 6 mana that I have had a hard time filling.

I have a question for those playing more graveyard-oriented builds. How do you fight gravehate? In my meta, dominating decks are Child of Alara with grave recursion package, my Mimeoplasm, Shaarum and that bgw legend manipulating with +1/+1 counters, tokens and sac outlet. And gravehate, obviously, is now packed in every deck in some form (usually ooze or annoying bg enchantment; don't remember the name). I feel like I.can't win with such hate on the table. Sure, I do play removals and tutors, but it can take few turns to dig for the answer.
The best way to make sure you don't get blown out by graveyard hate is to avoid overextending, the same way you would avoid overextending into a Wrath effect if you were playing an aggro deck. Just put 1 or 2 things that you want to use in the next turn or two into the graveyard, and keep other things in your hand. When I am using Buried Alive, I usually don't want to put 3 bomb creatures into my graveyard unless I am going to immediately follow it up with Living Death or The Mimeoplasm. There are a few other ways we can deal with the type of cards you mentioned, mainly just by killing them with things like Aburpt Decay and Beast Within. Krosan Grip gets a special mention here because it can kill whatever card they are using for graveyard hate without allowing them to activate it in response. The creature equivalent for taking out that Scavenging Ooze or Withered Wretch would be Sudden Death. Voidslime also works well against grave hate that needs to be sacrificed to be used, such as Tormod's Crypt and Relic of Progenitus. It also one of the only ways to stop a Bojuka Bog from wiping out your graveyard. Lastly, there are a few more narrow answers if you are really desperate, like Witchbane Orb, which prevents them from targeting you to exile your graveyard, or Ground Seal, which prevents their graveyard hate from targeting individual cards, but also shuts off a lot of the things that we are trying to do, meaning you will need a way to get rid of it at the right time.
Hrmph. I guess I must of missed it on the front page of the thread.
Yeah I actually mentioned the change back on page 58 as well. I've been using it for a little over a month now and it has worked pretty well for me so far.

Did some work on the strategy section. In particular broke it down into a more obvious Early Game, Mid Game, and End Game sections, as well as minimizing references to cards I no longer run, like Birthing Pod, and adding a decently sized section on some of the best Life from the Loam engines in the deck.
Thoughts on Gilded Drake ? I just acquired one, but does it have a place in Mimeoplasm...seems like it can be really really good or just awful.
I would usually just rather have a clone because you get to steal ETB effects as well, but Gilded Drake is great for taking creatures that have very strong static abilities, like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. It's also very good if you have ways to abuse it, like Capsize. I'm not running it in my build, but it is one of the better 2 drops available if you want to run it.
I remember a very interesting game involving Gilded Drake when I was playing against my friend's Merieke Ri Berit deck. This was a while ago, so my deck was a bit different than it is now. I had my Havengul Lich out and he played Gilded Drake to take the Lich. Later he drops Avacyn, Angel of Hope, but I have a Phantasmal Image copying the Gilded Drake and taking Avacyn. He sacs the Image and recasts it with Lich, once again copying Drake and taking Avacyn. Finally I get Rite of Replication and cast it kicked targeting the original Gilded Drake, which basically lets me take all of his creatures and leaves him with a pile of 3/3 flyers. That was a pretty wild game.
Gilded drake is just overall a good card to use. Most decks with blue should run drake

I really like your list... But what you think about phyrexian altar or ashnod's altar?
Edit: sorry for my english.. I'm italian
Your English seems fine to me. I wouldn't have known the difference if you hadn't told me.
I'm not a huge fan of the Altars in a build like this because the only role they really fill is as a sacrifice outlet. I have run them in other decks before where I could generate a lot of tokens, and they definitely worked well there to make mana, but in here I don't have enough creatures for that. If you want another sacrifice outlet in addition to High Market, I would suggest Phyrexian Tower or Miren, the Moaning Well. Having your sac outlets as lands is really nice because they still make mana when you don't have anything you need / want to sacrifice.
I guess if you need to cut some lands for more fetches, they are a fine choice. I really liked the UB and GB filter lands back when we were able to run Prime Time to grab Urborg and Cabal Coffers since they could turn all that black mana into other colors, but they are not quite as useful now. Notion Theif + Windfall or Timetwister is the nuts. I've decided to go with Timetwister as 4 man will net you 28 cards.
I've also included Mikokoro, Center of the Sea to compliment Notion Theif.
