V 2.0. Intet has proven to be the perfect general for this.
This is not your average Chaos deck. This is a deck designed to get creatures and spells into play without necessarily knowing what they are going to be. If the function of the card somewhat resembles that of Unexpected Results, the coolest card in all of Gatecrash, then I want it in here. I'm not in the business of screwing everyone else at the table, so nothing like Confusion in the Ranks or Thieves' Auction, please.
Obviously, you have to have some fatties for the lottery prizes. The Primodial cycle seemed like a great place to start.
I've had a bunch more fun with this deck since I've dismanted FOR SERIOUS Riku and I'll be picking it up more often. The list is pretty close to what I'm actually running, minus the Sol Ring (we've decided to play without it, so Explore instead) and maybe one or two of the clones.
Some cards I've had in and out of the process that are currently on the sidelines:
Im building a Intet deck too! Though mine is aimed a little more seriously, I love this and am gonna use it while building my deck, since you're the best RUg Commander expert EVER!
In my deck I run Prime Speaker Zengana because she draws soooooo many cards, and along with some other ETB wizards and back them up with Riptie Labratory. Maybe that could be included? But awesome list

I'll probably stay away from Zegana/Riptide Lab for couple reasons here. 1: I'm a little cheap and I don't want to pay 12 bucks or whatever for a copy. 2: She's only slightly on theme. I'd rather play more big guys before I added her. I'd hate to flip into her without a board presence, unlike most of the other fatties. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Looks like a lot of fun... I love Unexpected Results as well! Have you considered Soothsaying for more top-o'-the-deck manipulation?
That's another good one. I don't think I want too much topdeck manipulation because I kind of want to keep some element of randomness to the deck. If it turns out that I really want more of it, I'll know where to look. Thanks.
I'm still worried about Bribery and Knowledge Exploitation being too "tutor-y". I might try Desertion and Twincast instead as cards that fill a similar role but don't tutor for anything. Also I remembered Clone Shell is a card. Maybe I'll try him instead.
Goldfishing this was hilarious. I may need an Expedition Map in there because High Market is really good with Gamekeeper and Molten Primordial, and would be with Clone Shell as well.
I've been thinking of making a deck that has a "random" feel to it. This thread serves as the perfect inspiration for my own ideas. I can't think of anything to suggest for you to include at the moment. I love that you even included Temporal Aperture. It was a favorite of mine back when Saga first came out.
How about thicket elemental as a "random" guy? I think it's pretty underplayed in the format.
He definitely fits the theme. One thing about him that sort of turns me off is the high cost of entry- you're paying 7 mana to flip another creature. And if you ever get him into play off, say, Oath of Druids or something, you don't get to pay the kicker cost and you're left with a 4/4. So he doesn't jump out at me as a "must-play" but he is on theme. I should get a copy.

I first saw Temporal Aperture played years ago when I was just getting into EDH. I was thinking of building a Niv-Mizzet deck (I went with something a lot more janky), and one of the guys at my LGS played this card in his own Niv deck. I knew it was a "bad" card but I thought it was so cool to play that even though that guy had a mean streak in him, I found it impossible to hate on him because HE PLAYED TEMPORAL APERTURE. I mean, he was out of gas and just ripping cards off the top and hit an Oblivion Stone or something to save his butt and we were all like "WOAAAAAAAAAH DUUUUDE". I want to capture a bit of that with this deck.
I'm sleeved up but I can't play it yet until this weekend- the playgroup didn't get together last weekend so hoping I can report on this by next week sometime.
Finally, note to self: I don't think Moldgraf Monstrosity is going to be that good in here- there's relatively few creatures for him to get back. Maybe a Lorthos or Trench Gorger or Magmatic Force would be more appropriate...
Finally played a couple of games with this over the weekend! I lost the first- mono-green started strong and Greater Good + Kessing Cagebreakers = we all died fast. I won the second after a tense 3-way standoff between me, Gisela Sunforger and Doran voltron. Some thoughts on some cards I played:
Intet actually did a lot of the heavy lifting in game two- she was responsible for most damage to all players, actually, with 2 commander kills. Who know a 6/6 flyer was good for beating face? Her ability was pretty nifty but it usually turned up lands or a ramp spell- I didn't get to cheat in a whole lot, even with Top around to fix the top card. Chalk it up to the small sample size. Anyway, I'm confident she is the right choice for the commander.
Oath of Druids was nuked on sight. Guess I should keep running it
Stolen Goods and Unexpected Results are a lot of fun to cast. They make me very happy I made this deck. They don't always turn up a bomb but I got a couple decent cards out of them and I'll be happy to cast them again in the future. One thing to note about Stolen Goods, Telemin Performance, etc: If your target opponent has a Scroll Rack, you should probably choose someone else. I almost made that mistake...
Stormtide Leviathan is AWESOME. He just shuts down so many boards. I put a set of greaves on him to lock up game 2. I can't believe this guy wasn't in the early version of this deck.
Tyrant of Discord is just a 7/7 with minor upside. He's so on theme that I can't really cut him just yet but with RRR and no *real* payoff for it besides a big vanilla, he's almost always just hitting a land or so and that's it. I knew what I signed up for though.
Proteus Staff was an all star and made it very easy to tuck opposing generals like Gisela. I didn't get to use it on any of my own guys yet, but I hope to soon.
Mindclaw Shaman + Crystal Shard was a thing one game. I whiffed once, but another time hit an Austere Command (and you know how good that is).
Otherwise I think I will have to meta a bit against some super ramp. I have the voltron already covered with a few tuck spells but it wouldn't hurt to have a way to strike back against super ramp mono green. Propaganda is decent but I'd like to do better. I'm a little too mana-hungry for Constant Mists... I definitely want to look into a few fog options like Moment's Peace and Spike Weaver, or perhaps Tangle.
Finally I wonder if a card like Reito Lantern would be good here, to make up for an obvious lack of recursion. It doubles as somewhat expensive grave hate too, which would have been handy against Arcbound Reclaimer getting a Puresteel Paladin's swords back...
Overall experience? SUPER fun. A+, will definitely play again. One guy commented something like "If I had known such a deck was possible, I would have made it first".
It was a lot of fun! I tried to cast the random spell guys when I could but because of the amount of ramp and etb shenanigans at the higher mana costs I didn't often run out of gas.
I really enjoyed casting things like Unexpected Results, Temporal Aperture, Stolen Goods, Clone Shell... just things that surprised my opponents. Currently I am taking this deck apart to rebuild my "for serious" Riku deck which I haven't played in about a year but if you are looking into the concept I'd say definitely give it a shot. It's a great change-of-pace breather kind of deck when you want to take a break from the tactical decisions of Izzet WheelStorm or something similarly more difficult to play.
Are you going to run Possibility Storm? I can't wait to get my copy from Wanderer.
I think I would run it. I would gauge my group's reaction to it though- if it pisses them off too much then I would probably leave it out because I'm not concerned with messing with other players' decks-- just my own.
This deck is on hiatus for a bit so you'll have to tell me how you like it!
I've started playing this deck again and made a couple preference-based changes. Strategy, Schmategy is pretty much the coolest thing ever. I think also more coin-flipping might be in order with stuff like Stitch in Time and Fiery Gambit (though this is not gonna be a Krark's Thumb deck).
Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
Eh, I guess I just feel like he's a bit too try-hard for the deck. He's insane though and I thoroughly recommend him if you are into the usual ETB heavies. I think as a rule I am trying to stay away from creatures who are poor on their own? I'd hate to flip into him with nothing good to copy... but yeah, the payoff is huge.
Why, oh why, if you're looking for big prizes without knowing what they are without intruding on other people's stuff, are you not playing Lurking Predators? L Preds is basically an auto-include for all my green decks. And in a deck like this, it's so on theme and it provides such kickassery that I can't see a reason not to. Have you tried it?
