Ok thanks. What do you think of Sire of Insanity with her? Would you use it or would the advantage of playing cards from your GY not be enough considering you can't play them on opponents turns and there is no guarantee she will be in play.
I pretty much take your word as gospel when it comes to Reanimator decks. Sorry for taking the discussion away from Thrasios. Are you going to try her too or are you confident in this partner deck?

I think sire is worth a slot in Kess. At least to test out. The graveyard is basically a second hand for her.
I won't be switching either. Green is very valuable for me and Thrasios being able to win with infinite mana is even better.
If Kess had an ability to draw cards or something with a mana sink then I would at least try her out as the general but without that I think Thrasios is better

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
The problem with Sire is that it makes you vulnerable to their topdecks, and Kess won't solve that. He's much better in a deck that locks the game and takes away their ability to cast spells.
I am actually interested in Grixis reanimator with Kess at the helm, I really like the red splash and although she isn't a outlet for infinite mana you don't have to go for infinite mana anyway. Good old Twin combo is a good away to finish the game and works from Buried Alive piles.

With thirst we often discard value cards rather than reanimation targets since there are so few in the actual deck. I may change these later.

Hey Dies, good to see that Red finally made the switch. The Partner commanders have been great at enabling some new deck strategies, and I think Reanimator gets the best of that. I played an Atraxa Reanimator deck that was more of a Tier 2 kinda deck, and it was a lot of fun to be able to play the best of UBGW targets. Question for you: have you played against Stax and Storm lists? I've been sleeving up Teferi Stax and I've played some cEDH games online, and they all seem to be variants of Storm, HulkFlash, or Stax. It gets kinda boring after a while (even if I'm playing one, haha). How are your match-ups against it? I feel like pure Reanimator can attack a meta game in a very unique and hard to handle way. Grixis and BUG are the best colors for this, and being able to merge them into one deck is great.
I too will echo the sentiments about your expertise on Reanimator. I always checked this list when I was still playing Tasigur and adhered to it very closely.

Once the stax player floods the board it's very very hard to catch up. I suggest Pernicious deed if that's a huge problem. I turned to Cyclonic rift as well since it's lower cmc and often just better.
The thing about Reanimator is it must be answered within the first few turns or you will win. Dropping Jin, Void Winnower, Con Sphinx, Razaketh (Sometimes), or worldgorger combo early on either ends the game or makes it very hard for opponents to catch up.
In my own group there's Thrasios/Tymna storm, Thraios/Smasher Ad Naseum, Breya stax, Karador Stax, Teferi Stax, and Oloro Flash Rector as the top dogs to fight.
Against Ad Nasuem it's really about making sure you counter the right spell. Assume they are faster and play defensively, same thing for Oloro Flash Rector.
Breya, Karador, Teferi stax all play lock down spells like Orbs and sphere effects. We don't really care about Winter or Static orb but Sphere of resistance and Thalia must die. We need to have mana open to keep our Jin or whatever alive through one turn.
Now I have been playing against these decks for months if not years at this point and been playing Reanimator for nearly the whole time I've been playing magic so I may be taking it for granted. A lot of my choices are meta calls (Gilded drake, Carpet, Spellskite)
With that said most of the time it's seeing what opponents have and Mulliganing into appropriate things. Against Teferi I highly endorse Spellskite and things like Thrasios/Tymna I think Gilded drake is great. Stealing their own mana sink into your own is amazing.
Hope I answered what your question fairly well. Not exactly sure what else I can say

What cards do you like gaining access to in red? Any red reanimation targets?
The only red reanimation target that I like is Dragon, but without an outlet in the command zone it's not as good. Loot effects are strong with Izzet Charm, Dack, Faithless looting and Wheel, they really speed up the deck. Blasts and Vandalblast can be good depending on your meta. Fire Covenant is a good mass removal. Gamble seems interesting as well, but I have no experience with it.
That said, Inalla just needs you to get Wanderwine Prophets into play to be able to win the game, so maybe there's an argument to play her over Kess.
And also Grixis doesn't have the means to abuse Razaketh. You really benefit from having green, which dwindled my interest in the Grixis and Breya's versions.
Tidespout Tyrant is not good here. Every time I add him I find him just mediocre since he's fairly bad outside of 1 v 1 control and his infinite requires specific pieces and still needs mana open or green/blue cards in hand with Chrome mox. Just found him really meh and went for Worldgorger or Jin far more often and when I did go for him it was...eh. I may add him again in the future but I probably won't like it then either.
Anyway I'm going to try out Rakdos charm in his place.
Stops Protean Hulk combo, Blood pod combo, Kiki, hurts Karador, and plenty of relevant modes for the decks in my meta. I think I will like it a lot (Enough that I just bought the foil instead of a regular one)
Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.

Rakdos Charm is great in my wife's Kaalia list. At the very least, it can kill a mana rock that is generating too much value for an opponent (she's killed my Gilded Lotus a few times with it, and it feels really bad).
In regards to the cEDH match ups that you play, I think it's a decent break down. I've observed that there are a number of games where the cEDH game is light on removal, and so getting a Reanimator target into play quickly seems really quite good.
On a different note, with the number of wheels I think you're playing now, does Waste Not find a home here? The excess mana it generates can be dumped into Thrasios for extra cards or hard casting a big guy. I'm not surprised if you don't run it, mostly I'm curious to see if you've evaluated the synergy that it potentially has in grixis colored decks (which has the highest preponderance of Wheel effects).
Right now I'm only running Wheel of fortune and I'm not certain about its place.
While it's decent turn 1/2 it often means I'm done that turn and my opponents drew a new 7. Later it's great but I find myself pitching it early game and if I drew it off Jin there's no way I'll keep it since it refuels opponents.
Windfall I also cut a while ago so I can see Wheel gone as well.

So last night the deck did very well but was facing a new deck with Kess Storm and taught me one thing.
I should add Kess here. I had a few games where stealing her with Gilded drake won me the game. Being able to play reanimation twice, tutor twice, or even double nature's claim is great. I want to test her out, when with her higher cmc.
That said, here are a few of the other cards I'm considering and what input on.
Fire covenant
Forbidden orchard
Noxious revival
Predator's grasp
Perniocus deed
Bloom Tender
Talisman of Indulgence
Null rod
Seedtime
Shaper's Sanctuary
Buried alive
Lotus petal
By Force
Vandalblast
Kess, Dissident Mage
That's quite a bit of adds and the only things I can think of cutting right now are Wheel, regrowth, and maybe beast within.
Thoughts?

Kess, Dissident Mage is the real deal. Especially in a spell-heavy deck like this. I think cutting Beast Within and Wheel of Fortune are worth trying out for Kess and Fire Covenant. It may just be me, but it seems like dork a dork decks are everywhere. Killing them at EOT and disrupting their tempo seems like a great trade-off for 3 CMC. Although, By Force has been really great in my wife's Kaalia deck. Being able to kill three artifacts for 4 mana is a great rate, especially with how prevalent mana stones are in cEDH.

I'm actually considering Null rod over By force or Vandalblast. We don't really care about shutting off our rocks since our curve stops at 3 (4 with Kess) and storm decks in my group cry against Null rod.
I'm thinking Kess, Null rod, and Covenant as the next tests. Beast within has been great but I find myself pitching it a bit.
Wheel has been eh, I'm not super impressed and regrowth has been ok. It doesn't seem super powerful since most of the game matters within the first few turns but I may regret that.

I think the list you have of test cards is a great starting place. I think Fire Covenant is going to do the most work for you, possibly followed closely by Null Rod. It's hard to evaluate Kess, since she's so new, but I think she has a metric ton of potential, especially in your Reanimator list.
I have come to really despise the draw-7 effects. I feel like the few times I have cast it, my opponents have benefited more from it than I have. While I do value the ability to reshuffle my 'yard back into my deck, I really, really have grown uncomfortable with giving my opponents fresh options to disrupt my strategy or execute their own. Unless I'm a Nekusar deck, I'm not running draw-7's anymore. What are your thoughts, Dies? I tested them in my Teferi Stax list and it backfired for me a number of times, while also not being very essential in furthering my game plan.
I think it hugely depends on the deck. In here my opponents will benefit from the 7 first most of the time so its much worse.
I adore them in my breya deck that makes all the wheels either mean that I'm combining with engine, nuking hands with thief or mask, or dumping most of the hand Anyway.
I think wheels are very strong but only in certain builds and in those they're insane.

Did lots of testing today.
I think Fire Covenant and Kess both earned a spot in here today. I wasn't missing Wheel or Beast within at all. I may add Regrowth/Noxious Revival but not sure yet. And I didn't draw Null Rod today so not sure how great it is. Wondering if Vandalblast or By Force would just be better.
Anyway, I had an absolutely insane game where Worldgorger and Jin were Exiled within the first few turns. Thankfully Lab man was in hand when this happened.
I was facing Reyhan/Kraum Food chain, Atraxa Stax, and Thrasios/Vial Smasher bad version of my deck. I stole the Jin on board with Gilded Drake and the other player scoops (Lame). The Atraxa player got a smokestack on board and was at 40 life while I was at 10. I tutor and do two damage to the wrong place with Vial Smasher. During Reyhan's turn I logic knot for 40 countering whatever he played and killed the Atraxa player. He had a smokestack going to 6 shortly while I had a total of 5 permanents, he had over 20. A few turns later I finally cast Lab Man and in response to Reyhan casting a spell I tainted pact and Bazaar my deck away. So intense

I think with Kess and Snapcaster in the deck, you would probably favor instants/sorceries, but Null Rod is just so good at stopping so many decks. Tough call.
The Reyhan/Kraum Food Chain deck sounds really interesting. Most Food Chain decks have their commander chosen specifically because it has synergy in some form or fashion with Food Chain. How did this one work?

Basically, with Eternal Scourge/Misthollow Griffon you make infinite creature mana. Cast Kraum with Haste and make him Infinite size with Reyhan by saccing him to Food chain over and over.
Also with Razaketh plus a dork you can tutor up Life/death, then LED, sac a land and in response crack LED for green and cast Food chain. Now you can have a bunch of Infinite power lands on top of Kraum as well

Hey guys so the question I get asked most here is how do I make this deck on a budget. Even four years later it's easily the most asked question.
I wrote up a budget thing years ago and honestly, it hasn't been updated and may be fairly bad at this point.
So I'm taking a page out of the Laboratory Maniac's page and made 3 decklists for 500, 800, and 1500 dollar budgets.
While they're not perfect they are pretty much "Optimal" ways to play the deck on a budget.
I quotation that because I have very very very little experience playing it on a budget so it may not be the exact best way but I'm sure it's fairly close. And of course different metas and different folks.
Anyway, here's some links, and I'll be editing these into the front page.
Feel free to let me know if you would change anything on these budget lists and maybe I'll change it.
Also thinking of trying these guys out and would like input on that as well:
Forbidden orchard
Noxious revival
Perniocus deed
Bloom Tender
Talisman of Indulgence
Seedtime
Shaper's Sanctuary
Buried alive
Lotus petal
Vandalblast
Ancient Grudge
Vexing Shusher

I'm a huge fan of Forbidden orchard. ETB untapped, taps for all colors and doesn't cost life. Even if you just play Orchard as a 5 color land and nothing else the 1/1s are practically worthless. Just don't give spirits to a player that can take advantage of them.
There are also bunch of random synergy that you can take advantage of.
If you were to go back to 3c for whatever reason, would you go back to Tasigur or would you go Kess?
Tasigur
He wins with infinite mana and I found green much better than red

Null rod was changed to Bane of Progress.
Bane is abuseable and can be a massive beater after dealing with the board. If he's killed or bounced the damage is done. And with Null rod there was no way to get it back if it dies.
Kederekt became Pestilence demon.
I adore Kederekt, honestly it's one of my favorite cards but it's become too slow. A lot of the better decks run low cmc things so unless I can pair it with Necromancy it wasn't good enough and with worldgorger being a route I want to save enchantments more. Pestilence demon handles things like hatebear decks and Tymna/Thraisos decks which have become more powerful. I've tested him a little today and liked him a lot. Won me a few games.
Cyclonic Rift became Winds of Rubuke.
I never overloaded rift. Winds can bounce my own things to save them and the mill is relevant. I have a game today where I played a turn one vamp tutor and then used Winds to mill a worldgorger and reanimate it turn two. Being able to hit your things and the mill to mess with top of deck tutors seems better.
Sensei's top became Lotus Petal.
This doesn't seem like a top deck. While picking the best of the top three is good it has been less relevant lately and more so with faster groups. Petal allows a turn faster plays and better turn ones.
Of the changes, I can consider Kederekt or Top coming back but didn't care for Rift or Null Rod.
Thoughts?

I support the changes that you've made for the deck. I think Kederekt Leviathan is better in the mid to late-game, when you can lock the board with it and an Enchantment Reanimate effect. But, cEDH is getting faster and faster, with Hate-bear decks and dork-a-dork decks becoming way more popular. The Demon will handle the dork-a-dork decks more effectively, since it puts the cards into your opponents grave instead of back into their hands.
I'm sad that Null Rod didn't work out. It seems really powerful, but again, I think that the meta has shifted to favor creature based decks currently.
I'm still a fan of Counterbalance in my Memnarch deck. While it's really quite useless against the deck I play against most frequently (Kaalia Stax, in my signature), I think that it has an incredible utility to stop cEDH decks cold. The Top, in conjunction to with the Balance, can keep the game on lockdown for your opponents since it's so easy to counter a card with a blind flip in cEDH. But, I think that your deck is more explosive than controlling, so the Lotus Petal is probably a better card in the grand scheme of your deck's strategy.
Winds of Rebuke is a card I didn't know existed. That's pretty cool tech, actually, especially with how relevant top of deck tutors are in cEDH. It even enables your Reanimator strategy, as you mentioned. Good stuff.
I pretty much take your word as gospel when it comes to Reanimator decks. Sorry for taking the discussion away from Thrasios. Are you going to try her too or are you confident in this partner deck?

I tested them in my Teferi Stax list and it backfired for me a number of times, while also not being very essential in furthering my game plan.

I adore them in my breya deck that makes all the wheels either mean that I'm combining with engine, nuking hands with thief or mask, or dumping most of the hand Anyway.
I think wheels are very strong but only in certain builds and in those they're insane.

So intense

There are also bunch of random synergy that you can take advantage of.
etc.
BChainer, Dementia Master(Big Mana/Reanimator)
BRRakdos, The Showstopper (Mass Life Loss/Ramp)
BUThe Scarab God (Zombie Tribal/Control)
BWKarlov of the Ghost Council (Life Gain)
BGJarad, Golgari Lich Lord (Stompy/Dredge)
BRGProssh, Skyraider of Kher (Tokens/Non-infinite Combo)
Tasigur
He wins with infinite mana and I found green much better than red

-Cyclonic rift
-Kederekt Levithan
-Null rod
+Bane of progress
+Pestilence Demon
+Winds of Rebuke
+Lotus petal
Thoughts?

Good stuff.
