Couple of reasons.
When Jin is a thing there isn't much reason to reanimate anything else.
Iona and Void winnower are about the same in strength. However I find far more multi color decks in here
I think Thrasios is a better card overall than Tasigur. However I think Tasigur may be a better general for this deck.
Adding 4 colors makes a manabase that wants to be Black Blue much harder to pull off. The white adds were all good but there are decent subs for all of them outside of those colors (Karmic guide -> Phyrexian delver)
Eldritch Evoultuon, pernicious deed, and toxic deluge are way better with Tasigur and they all help a ton against the decks that I had trouble with when running Thrasios.
Call me nuts but I'm thinking this is the route I'm going down for now
Also looking to test out these guys
Imperial Seal
Natural State
Pithing Needle
Stifle
Leovold
Tarnished Citadel
Thinking of doing these changes
Phyrexian Tower -> Tarnished Citadel. Love this card in 4 color but not sure it's needed here
Riftsweeper -> Stifle. Probably doing this, I don't really need riftsweeper and 1 mana effect counters seem good. Great way to stop faerie Macabre

back to tasi? may be it is better, cause i try 4c too and problems still exists. In tasi way easy to use mana base properly.
some questions to you:
1)why you want to cut riftsweeper? still thinking that it is good. in tasi we have 2 combos: inf mana, lab+pac. so if somebody exile they - we only have some lock plan like void+jhin
2)why confidant? we have many 6+ costs. BUG also cut our life hard with tutors, fetches, crypt etc. do we need that painfull type of draw? 3 cmc and 2 cmc is a big deal but phyrexian arena looks not so suicidal
3)Do you put stifle only for macabre? in our meta we havent macbre so ... think how stifle good in other situations.
4)Loam still good card? it looks great but after around 0.5 year of playing tasi, im dont see it usefull. and loam looks slow
5)Leovold looks good. one of probles of this deck, we havent extra draw. yes, we have some ponder like stuff, some tutors, but our hand is weak part of this deck. Leo not a draw but other people dont draw cards too
6) somehow thrasios is solve problem with draw, but im think that recursive style of tasigur is better for our deck in terms of politics.(but im hate than people return to me targets for reanimation).
7)Do you still plan to add some another combos as you say when use thrasios?

1) Haven't cut him yet. I'm thinking about sliding him out for Stifle because the main source of exile around here is Faerie Macabre and stifle at least stops that and isn't dead against other decks
2) The average cmc of the deck is still less than 2. So on average we take less damage from him than sylvan library if we took an extra card, and speaking of library if we have both on board (Or top) we can pretty much make sure we don't take any damage off bob
3) Stifle also kills fetch lands, stops planeswalkers, mindslaver, and a few other situations. It's not a counter but it's helpful
4) Loam gets back Bazaar of baghdad for me. However even without bazaar I'd play it since it makes it much harder for us to miss land drops
5) He looks solid. I'd use him as both protection for my creatures and a denial for the wheels in everyone's deck
6/7) I think other combos may help in the future. My issue was once I switched my Win/loss ratio took a hurt so I felt like Tasigur was better but in my meta. I don't know about how it fairs in other groups or which one would be better since both are similar but one is an extra color but in my own group and experience I like Tasigur better

@DtDB, I'm going to keep playing the old 4-colour version for a bit before switching back to BUG – could you weigh in on the +Pull From Eternity -X discussion that was happening a while back? It's a bit after the fact now given the changes you've made to the deck, but I'm curious what you'd swap out for that card since there was discussion of adding it in. Thanks!

Yeah, if you really wanna stay reanimator Tas is best. Back when you were voting, I just said Thras just because I agree, overall it's a better card. But to change that here would def invite enough changes to make it an entirely different deck. Just given all the info/popularity here, I think it'd even be bad for the community to move even one step from how reanimator it is here. I've been showing friends the benefits of going back in threads to read and they certainly come back more informed, making it a lot easier to teach.
"If fetch lands are reprinted I really believe they will be in allied colors (aka Onslaught fetches). If the fetch lands are reprinted you better believe that we'll all be fetching up basics. This would lead me to believe that the set after THS may have a reprint as the temples can't be fetched but it's pure speculation." - posted 03/22/2014 proved correct during Khans spoiler season.
"The set releases for fall 2015 (Blood, Sweat and Tears) and fall 2016 (Lock, Stock and Barrel). One or both of those 2 blocks (I'm betting) are going to contain either Fetch reprints or (more likely) Filter reprints. Filter lands still need a reprint. They are getting pretty high up there and it's been longer than ZEN so it makes a little more sense that Filter lands would see print earlier that fetches." - posted 03/22/2014 proved incorrect about filters coming earlier than fetches, still pending on filters in Origins block.
Not really.
I'll likely be cutting stifle for phyrexian delver for testing. I'm going to another 2 headed giant tourney with another reanimator deck so there's more life to mess around with. Phyrexian.metamorph will also be added for the event only.

Have you been feeling the same way as me towards recent sets? I feel like there's been a decline in support for the graveyard - even in products like Commander and Conspiracy. After Innistrad v2.0 there hasn't been much love for the graveyard. Practically all sifting cards in the Kaladesh block place cards at the bottom of one's library instead of the graveyard. Reanimator and graveyard-matters decks don't like that . The only recent block/set that made the graveyard important has been Innistrad 2.0.

So I've been doing some testing here and there with adding in aetherflux reservoir and Leovold. Not sure how much more active this thread is going to be but I figured I'd offer my 2 cents. Aetherflux has been interesting. It has saved some games because I usually go down to very little life and bring able to get life off of a counter spell war has been useful a few times, it has never really felt dead but never really been so instrumental that I need to keep it in. Leovold has been fairly nice. There are some players that like to draw a bit too much for my liking in my playgroup, and they play a ton of draw, so leovold helps with that. Really I think he is a meta inclusion and not standard in anyway. To be honest, I love Tasigur but I no longer think that reanimate is the best strategy for him, as I have found politics control tasigur to be a bit more consistent, but of course not as explosive. I might be jumping the reanimation ship and heading to control, but as of right now, both leovold and aetherflux reservoir are not as fantastic as I would have liked. Let me know how your decks and matches have been going.
It's difficult to argue either way since Tasigur has plenty of viable archetypes.
He works very well for control, politics, combo, and reanimator. I personally think the combo version is the strongest but he's still insane in the other builds

What is the difference between the combo and the reanimator version? I was under the thought that they are connected because you essentially get to the combo via reanimation.

It's a high tide/bubbling muck deck instead of reanimation. You generate infinite mana without the use of the graveyard and then win via Tasigur.

A. I have always wanted to play that version, but I simply cannot justify the TimeTwister and the candelabra as expenses just yet, and the deck seems almost unplayable without them, or very much less consistent. I think I will stick with the reanimation strategy and play this version online until after school and then I'll pick up what I need. I suppose there is no budget solution to the most expensive cards is there? And how needed is the candelabra.Does it make/break the deck ?

I really wouldn't know that. I don't really play storm/ High tide decks that often as they're not really my style. Candelabra isn't a card I've ever owned either but I know it's very powerful and often tutored up in decks I face so I assume it's pivotal there.

So cutting Stifle because it's a meta choice
Cut Tainted pact because since I'm the only one with counters it is risky if Lab man is killed.
Cut Dark petition because last time I never got to that much mana to cast since rounds don't often last that long
Cut Noxious Revival since it's a meta choice
Added Delver to test and with 60 life per game the combo is far more likely to not kill us
Metamorph copies teams creatures (Mostly Iona)
Remora will either draw me a ton of cards or opponents don't play spells and my teammate and I can go off
Citadel because 31 lands seems more comfortable for now.

Thankfully it was only four rounds so I can sleep at a reasonable time.
Round one vs Krenko and Edric.
I'm playing Tasigur and my teammate plays Karador.
I open with Careful study discarding Void Winnower and he reanimates it turn one.
Turn two he green sun's for Sylvan safekeeper and turn three he buried alives and I exhume so he can get Elesh norn and I animate dead the Iona.
That was quick.
Round two vs Teferi and Derevi
This seemed inspired by the team that won the event last time.
Unfortunatly we beat them three times in between rounds so this wasn't going well.
Turn one Thoughtseize on Teferi to remove his plans and into turn two Iona
I Eldritch Iona into Jin and my teammate reanimates Iona. Game over
Round three against Venser and Rhys
They have an insane start with leyline plus cradle and so much mana and threats. Venser taps out to Bribery and he gets Aven Mindcensord.
I Toxic deluge to wipe the creatures from Rhys and then we reanimate Elesh Norn and Void Winnower into win.
Round four against Teferi and Derevi
These guys were the winners from last time and I was hoping to face them finally.
Teferi mulls to six but keeps a turn one mana crypt+ metamorph. Sadly we have Nature's claim and I have a turn one spellskite that hoses Derevi and Teferi THE ENTIRE GAME.
They tap out to cast Teferi and Derevi to get some stuff which lets my Teammate assemble Saffi/Sun titan/Altar of dementia and have plenty of counter back up.
Now to the good stuff...the prize was a box of Eternal masters...and I wish we got 2nd because the 75 dollars in store credit would have been so much better.
The highlights include a Natural Order and nothing else.
But all in all I had a good time and I think I'll keep Tasigur around for things like this until I settle on a truely powerful tier one deck

Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)

So I haven't done any changes to the deck in a while. I plan on switching Imperial Seal instead of Dark petition once I get one soon but these cards caught my eye.
Basically you can cast the second part out of the graveyard. Hoping to see something interested in the new set because it's been way too long since we have something worth while here
