Back when I started to get back into Magic after the long Ice Age that was the Mirrodin and Kamigawa blocks I returned during Ravnica and played a substantial amount during Guild Pact. I adored playing 'Hand in Hand', otherwise known as the deck Black White midrange deck that Olivier Ruel played with and lost to Craig Jones in one of the most famous videos of magic. I favoured the Orzhov Guild, but really liked the play style of the Gruul and the strength of the colours. Ulasht, the Hate Seed was designed as the Gruul 'champion' in the cycle, but was smaller than the guild leader, Borborygmos (and Borborygmos Enraged), and played out in a way that didn't fit the guild at all. In short, Ulasht, the Hate Seed was more of a combo card without adequate tools in standard, extended and modern, not good enough for legacy, although sometimes powerful enough in limited. The very aspects that made Ulasht difficult to play in standard make him brilliant to play in Commander, an offbeat general that is all build-around-me, with a big upside if you can. I first made this deck based off Redpanda's version long ago, but many decks have contributed to it and this version bears my own distinct preferences by now. Ruric Thar, the Unbowed, has also appeared in Return to Ravnica with Borborymos Enraged and is the new 'champion', however I still feel he is easier to build around. I hope you find the Gruul champion that was a fish out of water in standard, a true shark in the expansive sea of Commander.
Why Play Ulasht, the Hate Seed?
Ulasht in the story of the Ravnica Block just wasn't there, much like the Gruul Guild in general, he was however, the guild 'champion' cycle wise, under Borborygmos and was, "revered by many Gruul as a natural embodiment of pure destruction and mindless rage." (MTGS Wiki, Filby). It makes sense then that he doesn't fit in overly well with the Bloodthirst mechanic, but represents the idea of exponential growth, albeit through mana and creatures on the battlefield.
The main strategies associated with the Gruul or Red and Green colour combination are normally:
- Aggressive Beats
- Mana Ramp
- Tokens
- Combo
Ulasht visibly doesn't suit aggressive beats, however, the other three options are all viable and in often in one deck. If you like the ability to change your play style between a token rush or the more cruel outright combo win, this deck is for you. Many of the cards and strategies (although not all) that flourish in decks, such as Wort, the Raidmother, will also work well with Ulasht. The general is a combo piece irrespective of plan and unlike many generals cannot be played out without preparation. To maximize the size and impact of the Hate Seed you need to create a board that either offers value or profit in his immediate death due to pinging or disgorging his counters for saplings. Purphoros, God of the Forge in particular interacts well with token generation. Accordingly, if you like using your general repeatedly and as a blunt weapon, this deck may not be for you, but when you can set up many tokens, there are few creatures that can rival the power of Ulasht!
Sideboards were an optional rule that many play groups allowed if they were informed it existed, until this policy changed recently from the Rules Committee. Sideboards now come under 'house rules' in regards to permission. This decklist formerly ran Living Wish, but could've also ran Burning Wish with a sideboard modified from the one quoted below. Many groups may not feel comfortable with you having an effective ten extra cards anymore, but feel free to direct them to the Official MTG Commander website for confirmation of the 'house rule' to gauge their opinions on it. If your playgroup is understanding they may allow you to continue the former rule.
(This is also a copy of the former official rules regarding sideboards for your direct reference.)
Rather than filling every deck with banal responses, it is preferable to allow some flexibility in the composition of a deck.
- Players may bring a 10 card sideboard in addition to their 99 cards and 1 Commander.
- After Commanders are announced, players have 3 minutes to make 1-for-1 substitutions to their deck.
- Any cards not played as part of the deck may be retrieved by "wishes".
Reasoning:
Highly tuned threats piloted by skilled opponents mandate efficient answers. The minimum number of response cards required to ensure they are available in the early turns can easily overwhelm the majority of an EDH deck's building space.
Sideboards allow players to respond to the "best" strategies in a timely fashion . They should be strongly considered as a necessary defense against brokenness and degeneracy in an environment where no gentlemans agreement on style of play exists.
If your play group is unhappy with the idea of using Living Wish or alternatively Burning Wish in this deck. Merely replace it with one of the existing sideboard cards, such as Marton Stromgald or Terastodon.
Change Log
22/10/11 Scapeshift -> Cauldron of Souls - Using the general with Persist seems really powerful and will potentially lead to a board state unchanged by wrath effects. I'm disappointed I didn't see it myself, thank you Knautschke. Scythe of the Wretched -> Basilisk Collar - I would like some redundancy and this allows the occassional blowout when it connects, as opposed to a double equiped Ulasht for living the dream.
27/10/11 Prismatic Omen -> Gamble - I'm unsure if this is right removal, but this removes last active attempt at facilitating combo. I feel Gamble is needed, but not sure on what to remove. Thank you to Xozzen for idea. Kodama's Reach -> Decimate - Decimate is very powerful, but as with above, not sure this is right card, I want to focus on creatures for searching mostly and this focuses that strategy while providing more removal.
Strategy below needs some revision, but certain parts will apply.
Land Break Down
Here are the numbers that matter:
14 Basic lands.
8 Basic mountains.
10 Mountain in total.
2 Potential Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle.
7 Lands that have no way of producing coloured mana without Prismatic Omen.
1 Fetch land.
2 Land destruction lands.
2 Sacrifice creature lands.
2 Lands to get counters onto General.
10 Lands that potentially come into play tapped, 7 of which are unavoidable.
The deck has a lot of colour intensive spells, such as Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker or Regal Force, but it also needs sufficient basic lands for the numerous creatures and sorceries that fetch out lands. Primeval Titan solves all these issues, but that isn't always a given. To meet these needs all the Red and Green producing lands that can potentially come into played tapped have been used, as well as those that produce every colour and even then Copperline Gorge is suspect.
The Valakut Combo Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle has been included in the deck, along with Vesuva, 10 mountain cards (including Taiga and Stomping Grounds) Scapeshift and Prsimatic Omen was recently cut, but is still possible to get some value without it. I believe it is worth trying though and one could potentially include more mountains at the cost of fixing.
The Utility Lands
High Market and Miren, the Moaning Well - Homeward Path has no place in the deck due to how poor a quality the creatures generally are, but sometimes life is needed, which of these facilitate while discouraging theft. Diamond Valley of course produces no mana and is therefore undesirable. These lands can also sacrifice Anger and Genesis.
Kessig Wolf Run - This slot used to be allocated to Skarrg, the Rage Pits, but Wolf Run does the exact same thing with more versatility. In much the same way this card functions in standard KWR can be a game ender or just a trick to kill a guy. In many situations it will be one of first to be searched for with Primeval Titan when you have a stable board.
Kher Keep - One of my favourite cards in the deck, I always wanted a home for this card and here it has one. The tokens are red, which counts for Ulasht and they make great blockers, not to mention that with Seedborn Muse out, you can get up to 4 a rotation of players.
Oran-Rief, the Vastwood and Llanowar Reborn - Ulasht works on a counter basis, which can work very well with the these two lands, even if one is single use. Oran-Rief has the additional bonus of bolstering the whole green side of the army that arrived that turn, which includes whatever Ulasht produces.
Raging Ravine - The sole man land of the deck comes from a good Jund pedigree and fits both colours that Ulasht, the Hate Seed cares about. Besides this though, it is good colour fixing and can become a threat after just one turn of attacking, especially on a stalled board.
Strip Mine and Dust Bowl - The first of these Strip Mine is an auto include for every Commander deck, no one should hold any illusions about that, without answers for Cabal Coffers or Gaea's Cradle we only have ourselves to blame. Dust Bowl is my standard inclusion for decks that don't run Crucible of Worlds yet, as it is reusable. Some may like to run Wasteland instead and use Crucible or Life from the Loam.
Spinerock Knoll and Mosswort Bridge - Both possible hideaway lands have a place in the deck and can be triggered without too much effort, just be wary of hiding a green creature underneath or a creature at all, due to the presence of several tutors.
Reliquary Tower - Another auto include for most Commander decks, there are times when there will be too many cards, which is why this is included.
This has to be most obvious one and operates with the following cards: Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle; Vesuva copying Valakut; Prismatic Omen to make everything into a [CARD]mountain[/CARD. Scapeshift would normally follow, but it's been a bit inconsistent in this deck, so its been cut for now, as has Prismatic Omen, although it could be included.
This doesn't have inevitability, but it can surprise people that you would actually run it in Commander, for better or worse. The low mountain count can make it a finisher for the last damage, but rarely for multiple players.
These components are very much interchangeable and one can profit greatly from even just the interaction of two of these parts. The great thing about Ulasht, the Hate Seed is he can lock into the combo at the token generation stage for creatures and mana and later make himself bigger without too much cost to recast. A creature that grants haste, such as Anger or Urabrask, the Hidden, also makes the creature option instant kill.
3. Squirrel Nest + Earthcraft
Perhaps one of the best known combos around, this one merely requires you to cast Earthcraft and then cast Squirrel Nest on a forest or mountain. You may now tap a creature to untap and retap to make infinite squirrels. If you have Anger and Urabrask, the Hidden you also now may not give them haste. Some people may be very bitter about this way to win.
The general is also a pinger and giving him deathtouch with equipment like Scythe of the Wretched or Basilisk Collar is pure profit, especially if killing the creature gives it to you, as with Scythe. the life gain doesn't hurt either.
This is barely a combo, but it draws you cards when you kill Ulasht's counter generated tokens or others, but it felt worth pointing out.
Notes About Cards Not Being Used
Slate of Ancestry - I tried this initially, but often didn't want to ditch my hand, I'm trialed Garruk, Primal Hunter instead. Some people may prefer the slate in their build. Garruk was also cut due to concerns about speed. The high number of tutors makes neither option necessary or mana efficient. Sword of Kaldra - Very good with Ulasht's pinging, but quite expensive. The curve is already very high and I don't see something that expensive as being worthwhile. (Thank you to Xozzen for suggestion).
I'm going to be writing more in future, but I hope this is informative so far!
As always I'd be happy to listen to advice for deck and experiences with general. I'll note all change suggested and who suggested it if a change is made on those recommendations in the future change log.

Neko-Te is another one among these, which is often overlooked. Sword of Kaldra is really expensive, but it also exiles and leaves a nice beater behind, which can deal general damage. Quietus Spike is great obviously, ping their creatures and then attack to take a chunk out.
Yeah, being a beater is good, although when on my general I typically want him to die when last counter is removed, so he can be recast for profit, so no buff is desirable, just deathtouch.
Neko-Te is very intriguing, I wonder if it's worth it, or just being too tricky.

You know, give Ulasht persist, turn all it's +1/+1 counters into tokens, ulasht dies, and returns back to play even larger? Doing that each turn?
That does seem smart, unlike me, now I need to work out what to take out for it. Hmm, I also noticed a lot of Sorceries are missing, need to fix that ASAP.
Edit: Fixed, I'm still thinking. Any ideas on what to remove?
Edit2: I'll just remove Scapeshift for now for cauldron. The combo is somewhat rare to achieve.

I don't like Insurrection, it's a cheesy way to win. I run all the deathtouch equipment, granting deathtouch to Ulasht is never a bad thing. Nice that there's someone else who found the Scythe combo. In addition to Ulasht I've added Goblin Sharpshooter, Squallmonger, Silklash Spider and Balefire Dragon to make good use of the deathtouch equipment. Inferno Titan and Magmaw are in the same category, but I don't have the titan and I'm not sure about Magmaw. The deck is a proper machine gun, it shoots on sight and kills in one hit
You could consider Warstorm Surge instead of or in addition to Vicious Shadows. Ashnod's Altar also makes it easy to go infinite.

You object to Insurrection being an easy win? Or against the theme of the deck? At its mana cost it certainly isn't undrcosted and people often have sacrifice outlets, so it is strong, but by no means garranteed.
Yeah, I know scythe, but don't actually run it now, need to edit guide to explain that. The scythe shifts to creature you kill, which requires mana to reequip, so it's a tad clunky and requires multiple charges to be removed unless using death touch equipment. How does it normally work for you?
Magmaw seems awful, Inferno Titan is certainly legit and worth considering, although against token theme and more in favour of pushing death touch. I like that you pushed death touch there further, although I view ulasht as being more swarm than Avatar of Woe replication. In the iteration you see now I scaled it down substantially fom even running two death touchers, when i could run at least 3. I'll review the death touch theme since your post has given me ideas, although I try not rely on general, often no creatures exist to help him, and as you know, he needs some kick starting to be powerful.
Currently the deck has the capacity to go infinite, although it requires more pieces (unless going Squirrelcraft route), my play groups dislike infinite, so I set the bar a bit lower and don't run Ashnod's altar and only Phyrexian, although that is certainly a valid idea.

I'll keep Insurrection in as it's viewed as fairer compared to infi combo.
You're certainly right about that last part. I don't run any infinite combo's in any of my EDH decks My main objection against the card is that it can swing a game around completely (which is cheesy), but in a lot of cases doesn't end the game but just prolongs it as the board state after your turn is likely reset to zero creatures. Anyway, it's a personal preference. I've run it myself and had fun with it, but there's only 99 cards that can go in the deck. As it is on the end of the mana curve of my deck, it was one of the first cards I cut after looking at the mana curve.
Initially I had my Ulasht deck as a swarm token deck, but I felt that wasn't working out and that I didn't support his other ability properly. I was also very vulnerable to flyers since I don't run many fliers myself. Once I added the "reach shooters" the deathtouch theme came naturally.
One nice trick with Scythe is to make tokens with most of the Ulasht counters and shoot itself with the last two counters (or just a single one if you have a sac outlet), then Ulasht comes back with the Scythe attached to itself. Anyway, the third theme of my deck is a minor "I steal your stuff and then sacrifice it for profit" theme. You have this as well in some form, in Sarkhan and Insurrection. I have some more sacrifice outlets though, plus the Scythe. At least I'm confident I'm packing enough creature control
Speaking of sacrifice outlets, I run Greater Good. If this is any good depends on what you sacrifice to it, and tiny saprolings won't cut it. Beastmaster Ascension is never a bad card, large tokens are better than tiny ones. Muraganda Petroglyphs is another token booster that can get tokens up to GG size.
Three random card suggestions:
Spike Weaver is awesome and plays nice with Cauldron of Souls (like all other spike creatures btw).
Night Soil is a weaker version of Necrogenesis, but if you need more graveyard hate it's worth considering.
Vigor. Just Vigor.
I had wort, trying to work out how to squish her back in, such good creatures available already!
Verdant Force can die without doing anything, as can the aura. I prefer ETB triggers for a garanteed result. I run Curio for bounce as it is free and mana is needed for Ulasht, good idea though.
As for overrun things, I suppose I try swarm rather than use pump effect, I could try one or two for that effect though.
Shabbaman, I'll respond soon!
Edit: Wort added, I'll be adding in Petroglyphs when I can get one (today ideally).

I've now added the Petroglyphs over Reiterate, a card that is removed from a lot of my decks lately.
This means Warp World is a possibility again, although sorceries would need to be cut down as I have mostly sorceries that won't end up used.
I also need to still include an overrun effect potentially. What are people's thoughts? I'm going to try run this deck a bit more, maybe later tonight even.

I think you could cut some of your sorcery-ramp for more creatures. Overrun comes in creature form by the name of Kamahl You could replace Harmonize with Sylvan Library, and T&N with Defense of the Heart.

I thought about Defense of the Heart, but I don't aim to let them in a position where they have 3 good creatures and that is often over-extending, although it is certainly possible early game. The other two are good ideas I'll look into it.

2 parts,
1: I see you have fauna shaman, but wouldnt it be practical to run Survival of the Fittest considering its a swarm deck and ppl will more than likely board whipe u just to save their own skin.
2: Along the lines of SotF and Fauna Shaman, ever thought using Squee, Goblin Nabob cause i know that gettin a free creature tutor a turn definatly sounds right in theory, though never tried it.
I'm not overly reliant on cycling creatures to get better ones, so squee isn't essential, although certainly a nice card. I understand SOtF is a better card and more resilient, but it also doesn't add the counters on Ulasht in its own right. Perhaps both might be advisable, but both have different advantages.
A recent change I made was removed Worldly Tutor for Living Wish. I have all of my currently desired SB for this purpose, although I would like a Crater Hellion to finish it.

i like your list!
im making a ulasht deck myself and will "borrow" some ideas
am i right or wrong Blade of the Bloodchief combined with Ashnod's Altar would give u infinite colorless mana?
would be great to cast a genesis wave or some kind of fireball i think...
even without this "combo" i think the +1/+1 counters for ulasht are pretty good with this cheap equipment!
i would also add Godo, Bandit Warlord as he is a the only equipment tutor u cann get in these colors...
Edit:of course with mana echoes on the board, phyrexian altar is even better, as it provides u infinite green/red mana
Thank you!
Blade of the Bloodchief is of course great and could help you go infinite, but it is worth trying to survive without general, so I don't focus on those synergies too much. Ashnod's Altarcould be included and was included at one time.
I found Godo extremely expensively, 6 mana for a tutor is insane! You do have Gamble in red, albeit risky and several green tutors, but the deck can survive with just a swarming non-equipment based strategy. It just depends on how you embrace the deck.
I do use Phyrexian Altar for the coloured mana as it lets you cast your hand but both altars are great. I hope to hear how Ulasht works for you.
I also included Crater Hellion in wish SB, so good times.

I'm unretiring this deck. I'll start by changing Sensei's Diving Top for Sylvan Library, due to the fact I prefer to use all of my mana and changing Nim Deathmantle for Blade of the Bloodchief for the more explosive plays. A second altar will be included, but I will test these two changes for now.

Glad to hear from ya bud. I havent noticed as much activity from you of late. I hope you are still playing marton. I might need someone to bounce ideas off of here soon my list is getting sort of tight but I just cant settle on the last 3-5 cards it seems like.
I guess I have to ask, have you thought of expanding your goblin package in here? Goblin Matron even just for kiki / the gang still seems fairly decent. Moggcatcher probably wouldnt work here but I think the Matron and possibly Krenko, Mob Boss when he comes out might be worth consideration.
I havent been playing as much for a while, but I'm gonna try play more and see if I can improve. I am still playing Marton, although most recently I used my Ruhan deck to beat someone playing him (somewhat conflicting when others play your deck and both cant win) to win me a Planechase deck :). The deck did function just found some grief against Propaganda (despite getting rid of Peacekeeper). I'm glad you feel deck is getting closer to perfection, one thing to irritated me before a long break was a Karador deck that could use Karmic Guide/Saffi combo (he had capacity to go infinite effortlessly, but always claimed it wasn't despite being able to at any time) to recurr Massacre Wurm at will, which meant deck was too slow. This should be able to be overcome though.
Goblin Matron seems like a great idea, there are several targets, you're right in that, there aren't enough for MC. Krenko is certainly interesting, I'm unsure on whether he would do enough at the start, although after two turns would be very explosive.
I think I had Ant Queen and took it out, but if the early game allows for a slow 5th turn, which it probably does, the card could return. I'm unsure on whether this is style deck that wants to kill its tokens, although going infinite does make that an instant win with all my mana, so perhaps you're right.
I'll see how I can fit in AQ, GB and GM (most important of 3).

In my Ulasht tokens deck Craterhoof Behemoth can kill every other player at the table in the right situation. Strongly recommend it.
It seems like a fun card, how early do you play it? I'll consider it over another late game card. It's also less disatisfying than losing a near-infinite chain of hasty tokens.

Usually I will not play Craterhoof unless I can take the game with it by killing everyone at once or killing the major threats and leaving the weakest players to finish off. I run Overwhelming Stampede for the same reason, but you'll need to play Ulasht to get the same effect with Stampede.

I like the idea of Stampede/overrun etc, but do prefer creatures. To this end, Tornado Elemental will be coming out from my SB for my pet cards, Marton Stromgald. Craterhoof will be maindeck as Green Sun's Zenith and other tutors can search for it. Once I get a copy I'll add it.

Hello guys. Got back into Magic last year with my kids. Mainly playing EDH. I always liked Marton Stromgald, but could never get him to work well in the past. Then I find Pathfinder's EDH primer... very nice. But what I "really" wanted to do was use him as a wincon drop in a token-specific deck. Was thinking of a G/W token deck, but then I found Ulasht! The rest is history. This deck has done well (4-1) against a fairly cutthroat meta full of board wipes and removal. We usually play 2-4 team multiplayer. I have to speed it up a little though when playing 1v1. Thanks for all your advice, in the past and the future.
I really wish EDH had a 120 card limit! Cards with the > arrow are ones that are possible removals. The City of Solitude is only there cuz of the meta. Cards that I've played/considered and/or taken out are:
Warstorm Surge - (replaced with Vicious Shadows, they hate me now)
Godo, Bandit Warlord - (I struggled with this one)
Spearbreaker Behemoth - (a favorite, but just never worked right)
Nim Deathmantle - (interchangeable with the curio/cauldron, generally)
Sprout Swarm - (I really wanted this one to work, but eh...)
Bogardan Hellkite - (got too many expensive cards as it is...)
Triumph of the Hordes - (love this card, just not enuff slots)
Symboitic Wurm - (expensive?)
Coat of Arms - (Beastmaster/Marton are better/cheaper)
Overwhelming Stampede - (replaced with the Craterhoof... run both?!)
Nullmage Shepherd - (replaced with the Slime)
Bladde of the Bloodchief - (hmmm, was wondering about this one...)
Abundance - (replaced with Lurking Predators)
Cream of the Crop - (replaced with Abundance)
Druidic Satchel - (hmmm...)
Hornet Queen - (never tried, people recommend it)
Saproling Burst - (really liked, just never came off right)
Stonebrow, Krosan Hero - (recommended by others)
Fangren Firstborn - (possibly in a Bedlam build, with Lambholt)
Bedlam - (a go weenie, whole deck strategy rebuild option?)
My current build as you see, has the infinite-combo ability utilizing Cloudstone, Mana Echoes, and the Altars. With this in mind, I really want to include Spike Breeder to the deck. Whatchathink about all this?

I understand your concern, Cavern of Souls or Insist may be options too, as city hinders Ulasht in other turns.
Warstorm Surge - You're right, Vicious Shadows is better, but that may be too expensive at times.
Godo, Bandit Warlord - It is a great card, but you don't need the pinging that badly. Gambleis a cheaper tutor.
Spearbreaker Behemoth - I agree, this doesn't suit deck, its more for fatties than tokens,
Nim Deathmantle - This definitely has a place in some builds, just requires a sac outlet to fully abuse.
Sprout Swarm - It's a great card, not in EDH, go the better option with Squirrel craft.
Bogardan Hellkite - Too expensive and not token affiliated at all, as you said.
Triumph of the Hordes - I personally dislike poison, but you could legitimately run this to blindside someone. It means you need fewer guys to win out of nowhere too.
Symboitic Wurm - Too expensive and can be exiled for no gain. Only go for ETB trigger creatures.
Coat of Arms - Besides Beastmaster and Marton, this is symetrical, we don't like that.
Overwhelming Stampede - Just run creature versions, they are tutorable and benefit Ulasht.
Nullmage Shepherd - I run this and slime, consider the need for utility removal.
Bladde of the Bloodchief - I am always on edge about it and equipment in this deck in general. It's very good with your deck due to certain combos.
Abundance - You are right, this isn't needed.
Cream of the Crop - A luxury really, I'm using Sylvan library instead right now.
Druidic Satchel - Too cute, doesn't do enough for mana investment.
Hornet Queen - This is great token maker and rattlesnake. I run it.
Saproling Burst - It has potential, but needs some working around.
Stonebrow, Krosan Hero - Not worth it, wont help unless you make it work. Murganda Petroglyphs helps without jumping through hoops.
Fangren Firstborn - This would work, but would be more tempo than rush since it's weaker Marton.
Bedlam - I always come back to this card and cut it quickly, who cares about no blocking? Just killing with vast numbers.
My current build as you see, has the infinite-combo ability utilizing Cloudstone, Mana Echoes, and the Altars. With this in mind, I really want to include Spike Breeder to the deck. Whatchathink about all this?
I like your deck, although creature line up is noticibly different to what I envision for this style deck. I'll elaborate more in next post.
I also play Weiss Schwarz, Chaos, Vanguard and Wixoss.

Introduction

Living Wish Sideboard:
If your play group is unhappy with the idea of using Living Wish or alternatively Burning Wish in this deck. Merely replace it with one of the existing sideboard cards, such as Marton Stromgald or Terastodon.
Change Log
Scapeshift -> Cauldron of Souls - Using the general with Persist seems really powerful and will potentially lead to a board state unchanged by wrath effects. I'm disappointed I didn't see it myself, thank you Knautschke.
Scythe of the Wretched -> Basilisk Collar - I would like some redundancy and this allows the occassional blowout when it connects, as opposed to a double equiped Ulasht for living the dream.
27/10/11
Prismatic Omen -> Gamble - I'm unsure if this is right removal, but this removes last active attempt at facilitating combo.
16/11/11
- Birthing Pod, Garruk, Primal Hunter and Quietus Spike.
+ Birds of Paradise, Insurrection, Nim Deathmantle.
18/11/11
Godo, Bandit Warlord -> Wort, the Raidmother.
15/12/11
Reiterate -> Murganda Petroglyphs.
20/12/12
Worldly Tutor ->Living Wish.
17/01/12
Night Soil (SB) -> Crater Hellion (SB).
22/06/12
Sensei's Divining Top -> Sylvan Library.
Nim Deathmantle -> Blade of the Bloodchief.
29/06/12
Tornado Elemental (SB) -> Marton Stromgald (SB).
01/08/2012
Cauldron of Souls -> Craterhood Behemoth
07/09/2012
Valakut, the Molten Pinacle -> Grove of the Burnwillows.
Vesuva -> Dryad Arbor.
Primal Command -> Punishing Fire.
09/09/2012
Cloudstone Curio -> Llanowar Elves.
02/10/2012
Primeval Titan (Post banning) -> Crop Rotation.
11/10/2012
Blade of the Bloodchief -> Survival of the Fittest
08/03/2013
Scourge of Kher Ridges -> Hellkite Tyrant.
Comet Storm -> Signal the Clans.
07/10/2013
Living Wish (sideboard rule change) -> Purphoros, God of the Forge.
Murganda Petroglyphs -> Xenagos, the Reveler.
Signal the Clans -> Zealous Conscripts.
11/11/2013
Nullmage Shepherd -> Primal Vigor
03/12/2013
Explosive Vegetation -> Elvish Mystic - Creature mana ramp is more useful for the Commander, hence why a clone of Llanowar Elves was used.
18/05/2014
Indrik Stomphowler -> Revel of the Fallen God - Revel is good value and there are other answers to artifacts.
The Valakut Combo
Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle has been included in the deck, along with Vesuva, 10 mountain cards (including Taiga and Stomping Grounds) Scapeshift and Prsimatic Omen was recently cut, but is still possible to get some value without it.
The Combos
This has to be most obvious one and operates with the following cards:
Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle;
Vesuva copying Valakut;
Prismatic Omen to make everything into a [CARD]mountain[/CARD.
2. Mana Echoes + a token generator (Avenger of Zendikar, Hornet Queen, Siege-Gang Commander, Deranged Hermit or general itself) + Phyrexian Altar + Doubling Season OR Parallel Lives + Ulasht, the Hate Seed = near infinite mana and near infinite creatures.
4. Ulasht, the Hate Seed + Scythe of the Wretched AND/OR Basilisk Collar
The general is also a pinger and giving him deathtouch with equipment like Scythe of the Wretched or Basilisk Collar is pure profit, especially if killing the creature gives it to you, as with Scythe. the life gain doesn't hurt either.
5. Skullclamp + Tokens
This is barely a combo, but it draws you cards when you kill Ulasht's counter generated tokens or others, but it felt worth pointing out.
Notes About Cards Not Being Used
Sword of Kaldra - Very good with Ulasht's pinging, but quite expensive. The curve is already very high and I don't see something that expensive as being worthwhile. (Thank you to Xozzen for suggestion).
Cards under Consideration:
I'm going to be writing more in future, but I hope this is informative so far!
As always I'd be happy to listen to advice for deck and experiences with general. I'll note all change suggested and who suggested it if a change is made on those recommendations in the future change log.

Yeah, being a beater is good, although when on my general I typically want him to die when last counter is removed, so he can be recast for profit, so no buff is desirable, just deathtouch.
Neko-Te is very intriguing, I wonder if it's worth it, or just being too tricky.

TLDR: I like Inferno Titan and Quietus Spike (again), I'll keep Insurrection in as it's viewed as fairer compared to infi combo.

Vigor. Just Vigor.
Verdant Force and Verdant Embrace are pretty awesome token generators.
Erratic Portal is a way to bounce Ulasht that can be used defensively.
No Overrun? Or Overwhelming Stampede? Not even Triump of the Hordes?
RRRHeartless Hidetsugu: The Ogre for TrollsRRR
BBBSeizan's Perverted VicesBBB
I had wort, trying to work out how to squish her back in, such good creatures available already!
Verdant Force can die without doing anything, as can the aura. I prefer ETB triggers for a garanteed result. I run Curio for bounce as it is free and mana is needed for Ulasht, good idea though.
As for overrun things, I suppose I try swarm rather than use pump effect, I could try one or two for that effect though.
Shabbaman, I'll respond soon!
Edit: Wort added, I'll be adding in Petroglyphs when I can get one (today ideally).

This means Warp World is a possibility again, although sorceries would need to be cut down as I have mostly sorceries that won't end up used.
I also need to still include an overrun effect potentially. What are people's thoughts? I'm going to try run this deck a bit more, maybe later tonight even.

I thought about Defense of the Heart, but I don't aim to let them in a position where they have 3 good creatures and that is often over-extending, although it is certainly possible early game. The other two are good ideas I'll look into it.

A recent change I made was removed Worldly Tutor for Living Wish. I have all of my currently desired SB for this purpose, although I would like a Crater Hellion to finish it.

Ant Queen seems like she deserves a spot as well considering you run Seedborn Muse.
Goblin Bombardment seems like a shoe in as well. The ability to wrap up tokens into control seems right in line with what your deck wants to be doing.

I understand your timing, the cost can be prohibitive early too. I'll try play this deck more to see what would work best.

I like your deck, although creature line up is noticibly different to what I envision for this style deck. I'll elaborate more in next post.
