So, I've read through the entire thing. Yep. It was a journey. But now I've made an account so I can offer input and receive advice and criticism.
First, it's been a while since I actually read through it, and I have a question: Mox Diamond and Chrome Mox. I see diamond in the above list, but what about the chrome mox? It seems like I have enough colored cards to pitch to it, usually. Granted, I have neither of these cards, so this is theory. Recurring them multiple times seems like a pretty poor idea, so I want to know: are they worth it? Just one of them?
With Chrome Mox, you can only remove nonartifact and nonland cards from the game (i.e. all your card advantage and tutors), and the card is gone forever.
On the other hand, Mox Diamond always fixes your mana since it produces all colours regardless of what you discard.
Plus you can replay the land with Crucible of Worlds.

712.5b The controller of another player can't make choices or decisions for that player that aren't called for by the rules or by any objects. The controller also can't make any choices or decisions for the player that would be called for by the tournament rules.
Example: The player who's being controlled still chooses whether he or she leaves to visit the restroom, trades a card to someone else, agrees to an intentional draw, or calls a judge about an error or infraction.
D'oh! Of course it's not - I suppose I mixed up with chrome. :$ I've just bought An EMA crypt for $77, as well as vampiric tutor and top. Im working on trading for Transmute Artifact from a buddy of mine. Other than that, acquiring the Thopter foundry combo is priority. I'll post my lijst when I get back from my vacation, if you all would be so kind as to take a look at it!
Thoughts on running Bubbling Muck? I get that it may not be good in the engine build, but going Urborg, Muck, Time Spiral seems *really* good. It is pretty niche though, so perhaps I'll save it for a stormier version.
although, since I do run several untap cards (time spiral and frantic search come to mind) it might be worth a look. Speaking of, what is y'all's option on Frantic Search? It's not amazing, but a "free" loot 2 effect seems good.
Frantic Search is a card that's gone in and out of my own version. It's a great way to dig into your deck and selectively feed your discard pile for free at instant speed.
I'm not a fan of Frantic Search myself, as my deck prefers the extra card and doesn't really do much with the tempo opportunity.
Hey, a new possible utility land was spoiled. I'm not sure if I'll play it, since I'm minimizing the colorless lands anyway, but it seems very interesting.
It's like a really bad bazaar. At least now there is a budget option.
Edit: Eldritch Moon generally has me throwing up in my mouth. There are a few gems to be sure, but the flip card style of mechanics are a severe turn off.
Still don't have anything really useful from that set yet.

At this point, do we just wait until Kaladesh releases?
So for me!
Magic Origins gave us a cool preview of what could be Kaladesh with Hangarback Walker and Artificer's Epiphany.
I don't believe we'll get Esper colors artifacts, most probably UR colors. Maybe a good UR artifact commander.
I'm on board with all of the above. You give me a RU Goblin Artificer, and I'll die a happy man.
I'll take just a RU artifact commander tho.
Me too
Red R can bring so much to an artifact EDH deck: Welder, Wheel of Fortune, Daretti, Scrap Mastery, etc..
But we'll lose all the best tutors and the Thopter Foundry/Sword of the Meek/Time Sieve combo
Pending on what black and white's role with artifacts is in the upcoming sets (hopefully all 5 colors are involved in a positive way) I think it's possible the Yore-Tiller leader coming out in the next commander set is artifact based. Pending on if they roll with one linear idea in them vs the concept of two color combos coming together (I've heard believable rumors the idea will be to have them have two unique hybrid mana in costs or abilities) I think something artifact based has a pretty good shot just because I don't think they can go too crazy with land-bases. This is all just my take on it so far and I only share because man oh man did an izzet goblin commander that's Artificier's Intuition get me excited on so many levels.
So, what happens if we get the WUBR legend, and it has some artifact synergy? Would it require a whole new build, or is it something we could roll Sharuum into? I know one of the strengths with Sharuum is the resiliency of her going back to the command zone instead of permanent exile, so I'm hesitant. However, being able to play Welder, Wheel, Gamble, and some of the other red cards is tempting. I know speculation now is tough, but let's say that, for example, that the WUBR legend is vanilla, would it be worth it to run, kind of like how Jeleva is leading storm decks for the identity. Obviously, her ability can come in handy, but we won't take that into account concerning our new legend. Would Sharuum be part of the 99, or would it be too much strain to set up the combos?
Well I mean, Sharuum is our wincon most of the time. I would imagine if there is a four color artifact commander and it's stronger, we wouldn't play a Sharuum deck anymore. Can you imagine trying to Bitter Ordeal without having Sharuum always in your hand? It's hard enough to have Ordeal, a copy, and enough mana - I don't think I could handle having to find another 6 mana card.
So in short, no, I don't think Sharuum can be part of the 99 of a "Sharuum deck." Sharuum's ability is very strong and unique, and her biggest weakness is her heavy mana cost. The only thing I can think of that would top her in this style of deck is a general that puts something from the library into play, or Transmute Artifacts on ETB, both of which are absurd.
I have a question about the mana base - are the filterlands worth it compared to, say, the painlands? Their primary benefit is producing double mana of the same off color - a Plains and a Fetid Heath can make BB while a Plains and a W/B land can already make WW and WB. Sharuum is not a deck that often uses double color mana. Off the top of my head the only cards in the entire deck that do so are Transmute Artifact and Necropotence, and most of you don't run Necro. Perhaps you're casting several spells of the same color in the same turn while not having any other sources of that color?
I don't own them, but I've proxied them a few times and I end up with only colorless mana surprisingly often. What do you use them for where a painland would not suffice?
Homestly, painlands are fine if your OK with paying life to manafix occasionally. Especially in the early game where you very well may have a handful of pain lands or other colorless sources. Having abu, shocks, and fetches is far more noticable.
Along the line of fast combo, have Tainted Pact or Demonic Consultation been tested? I think I'll try to grab a copy of each to run alongside Ad Nauseam.

Mox Diamond isn't in EMA unfortunately. But Mana Crypt is! And better to spend the money in the Crypt, you can play it in any Commander deck!
