[Updated] The main focus behind this list is to ultilize Arcum Dagsson's ability to fetch artifacts. Although using my general to reach victory is preferred, finding other paths to winning without relying heavily on Arcum Dagsson is paramount. Im not too sure on adding more card draw and mana acceleration as I think it may hamper my current list. If anyone has experience playing Arcum Dagsson i would welcome any advice or suggestions. I am currently playing in a very competitive playgroup i.e Maze of Ith and Mana drain main listed in their decks but I dont really have that large of a budget xD.
Arcum is considered by many to be kind of a dbag commander, so expect to catch a lot of hate right from the beginning of the game. Most Arcum decks just ramp him out and then drop N-Disc, Darksteel Forge, and Mycosynth Lattice to lock everyone else out of the game.
So basically I would be using the Myr from Myr Turbine to maintain Possessed portal and lock my opponents out even further from the game. setting that aside I feel I may be making a few cuts to my creatures to add more Artifact-Creatures, to give Arcum Daggson more food. Im thinking a Myr Propagator may be a decent addition.
switching to memnarch would not change the being hated out of the game, he also is a dbag commander. Then again most mono blue commander's ar enot well liked
Lifeline would actually allow me to recur creatures such as Mulldrifter and Aethersnipe barring Lifeline Is on the field when I evoke. Ill have to try it out and see how well it interacts with my list.
Just to clarify, you can double arcum's ability, but you'll need 2 artifact creatures for each activation
anyways, Rings of Brighthearth is a great adition, you can generate any number of colorless mana in combination with Basalt Monolith so you can vomit your hand onto the table and win the game on the spot
maybe play more mana artifact dudes?, son arcum can enter reliably on your 3rd turn at least, and have a suitable target for his ability, something on the lines of Manakin and Millikin
I can just about imagine a swarm of Indestructible Artifact creatures, especially after a Nevinyrral's Disk board nuke, seeing as my stuff will be safe a sound thanks to Darksteel Froge. That being said, I figure Rhystic Study could go, seeing as no one lets the blue mage draw but there is also Mind's Eye, even stronger presence in the list, Which alows me to just draw with my Opponents
Oh and to clarify Rings of Brighthearth The Rules text specificly state "Whenever you activate an ability, if it isn't a mana ability, you may pay {2}. If you do, copy that ability. You may choose new targets for the copy. So that being said I would need to Sacrifice two Artifact Creatures to activate the the ability on Arcum Dagsson twice.
Anyways the deck will be getting its first real test today, Sunday, so afterwards Ill be more aware of what works and just doesn't pull its weight. I'll also be picking these following cards up for possible/Confirmed spots in my list
Play mystic remora over study it's better than ansetreal recall or a 5-0 fact split no one wants the blue Mage to draw but no one pays 4 or Skips dropping there mana Rocks And fall behind
