I never really felt Sign in Blood to be that effective for EDH standards. Only reason why Dangerous Wager could be good is because it's monored and it's instant. There are enough other black draw options that you shouldn't have to rely on things like Sign in Blood.
True, it's kinda wimpy, but I really don't have any of the other big power draw cards. I came into this format with a kinda crappy collection, so I've had to buy a lot of things. If nothing else, it could just be a placeholder. /shrug

So Mephidross Vampire and Triskelion are going to be dropped. I have enough spot kill for the big creatures, and my creatures that can kill etc can take out the little dorks. Massacre Wurm will be coming in when I can get a hold of one, will need to think on the other card.

I officially have a Massacre Wurm, Painful Quandary, and Dark Imposter on the way :D. Wurm and Imposter are replacing Guul Draz Assassin and Mephidross Vampire, maybe Quandary will replace Triskelion. Think I'll do that.
unless of course you dislike two card-combo wins. i wouldnt blame you
I'm not sure how I feel about combo in EDH yet, and he's a zombie. One of my high school buddies is a big zombie player, so I don't want to intrude on his domain, so to speak. Besides, Trisk is getting dropped anyway.
Well, I suppose the combo thing isn't fair, considering I'm running a few two card kills. But I view those more as card interaction than an infinite combo.

Have you considered Exquisite Blood? It rewards you for everyone beating each other up (damage = loss of life). That and it works so well with Sanguine Bond. Probably can't hurt to add in some cycling lands.

Although she brings up an interesting point, should I gun for grabbing 3.0 or 2.0 Liliana first?
Liliana 2.0 seems only useful in a stax-type deck whereas 3.0 is good in a slower Mono-black style.
Liliana 2.0 I still need to pick up for my Kaalia deck actually, but yeah 3.0 would be much better for this deck. I think IRL the deck has 41 lands still, I was thinking that I would drop a land for Dark Realms, if I ever get one. If that would actually take me to 39 lands, then I assume it would still work.

So, in line with the rest of my decks being ported to Cockatrice/being updated to be "ideal" lists even though it's not what I have IRL, I'm thinking that:
I put together a decklist very similar to yours, and I must say that in general, I have had nothing but fun with it. My friends say it's good at what it does, and the combo has been effective for winning the game three times (out of five).

Yeah, I'll be honest. I'm not a huge fan of Dread in this deck. I don't think it's that effective in doing what you want. In many instances, I Think Obliterator is the right choice, because then they are not going to swing into you for fear of being blocked by it.

Hey, new to the thread here. First off let me say thanks for the list; I've been out of the game for a while and you gave me some good ideas for updating my own Drana list. I do have a couple of thoughts/suggestions/etc. I read over the thread, but if I bring up something already discussed I apologize. And I know you're trying to be budget-conscious, so I'll try to keep my suggestions to that.
1) Do you ever find you need more land d? I see you have Ghost Quarter, but I don't see any more than that. If you think you could use more there's always Strip Mine, I think they're still under 5$, as well as the even more budget Tectonic Edge. I think you could definitely add one or both in for swamps and not even miss them.
2) Same as above, but for artifacts and enchantments. Oblivion Stone and Nevinyrral's Disk come to mind; not spot removal, but still useful. And the former shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of.
3) As for more card draw, are you opposed to the single use choices (like Night's Whisper, Sign in Blood, etc.)? There's always Greed; you run a decent amount of life gain, so it might be worth it. And it was mentioned earlier, but I don't see it in your list, I'd add Promise of Power; even un-entwined it's awesome.
4) Murder can come in and replace Rend Flesh, since it hits the same things and more, all for the same cmc. If you want more tutors there's Increasing Ambition; it's worse than Diabolic on the first use, but the flashback with bonus can be nice.
5) What are your thoughts on Sudden Spoiling? I run it in mine and I'm still on the fence with it. I find that in certain situations it's backbreaking, but it can also be a dead card just as easily. Same thing with Imp's Mischief; I've never been able to make it really worth it when I ran it, but since dropping it I've had situations where it could have helped.
Hope this helps in some way. I'll probably post my own list in a little bit after it gets updated; I'd love to get some feedback if I do.

Cool, thanks for stopping by. My decks never seem to get quite the amount of attention other decks do :D. As for budget, I'm not opposed to getting something that's maybe $20 or so, it's just that I can't buy that every week, lol. Not even every month, but I digress.
1 - The guys I used to play with IRL never had terribly evolved decks, or at least terribly evolved mana bases. I'd definitely pick up a Strip Mine or 6 if I could, though. As a side note, I've been going through most of my deck lists on Sally and have been "updating" them to be what I would ideally be running. Plus, Cockatrice. Should do that with this deck, I'd definitely have Mine in there.
2 - Fair point, I probably could use more rock/enchant hate. I do have Steel Hellkite though, if you missed that. I do have an Oblivion Stone, but I'm sorta holding out on that to see if I ever put together Glissa. Suppose I could just get a second Stone... I will think on it.
3 - I'm not necessarily opposed to those options, especially since I actually have them, it's just that everyone else who's posted in here has said they're not "oomphy" enough. /shrug. Greed is just bad, though. PoP would probably come in too, on that uberfying thing I'm doing.
4 - That it could, I'm just not sure I pulled a Murder from what M13 I did buy. I'd like to go for more draw first, then maybe slot some of it out for tutors down the line. Or something. Also, I've been thinking maybe some of the kill should come out for some of Black's kick ass sorceries and stuff it's had over the years. /shrug.
5 - When Sudden Spoiling saves your ass from something like Ulamog, you'll keep it in :D. Plus, if you're running Vedalken Orrery (Black's threats with Blue's speed? YES) and Massacre Wurm, you could play spoiling, then EOT before Spoiling wears off, flash in the Wurm for wrath + massive hurt. Magical Xmas land, but still, I wanna pull that off. At least once.
Thanks for stopping by, thanks for contributing. Kinda reminded me that I should take a look at this deck, see what the "uber version" would be.
K, here's my crack at a completely superior version, in Cockatrice.

Two cards that i dont see on your list that i enjoy using quite a bit are stratascythe (which combos great with urborg) and wound reflection which can make some of drana's crazy swings even crazy, win you the game if you cast blood tribute or prevent anyone from countering temporal extortion.
Edit: its worth noting i have made a couple changes to the list since posting it, i added Vampyric tutor, Demonic Tutor and Sensei's Divining top cutting sign in blood, Sword of Feast and Famine and Urza's Incubator
