His playstyle. This deck can do a lot. Sometimes it will feel like a Voltron deck, Sometimes it will feel like a Big Beats deck with some elements of control. Sometimes it feels like a combo deck as you power out your entire deck and swing for a billion
His cost. Turn two Omnath is a sweet play. I included a couple ways to power him out early.

I suppose you could play Azuza, but why would you do that when you play Omnath AKA the total Bad-ass.
History:
Omnath was my third deck to build and my second longest standing deck. It's changed quite a bit as it started out as a voltron deck as has become more versatile as time has gone by.

My name is Blake and I'm 20 years old. I live in south Mississippi and I love magic. I became a level 1 Judge a little more than half a year ago and will probably become a L2 within 7 months. I got into EDH about 2 years ago. I hated standard, and legacy requires more dedication generally. I didn't have the time or money to do it. I was looking for something new and a friend of mine mentioned EDH a few times. He didn't have a deck either and had just heard about through word of mouth. So we sat down, looked up the rules and pulled out our cards. 5 Hours later I had a Thraximundar Sac matters deck and a Memnarch Myr Tribal deck. My friend made an Elesh Norn Lifegain deck. Our first few games were crazy. Some lasting hours and we loved it. Eventually we introduced our other friends to it. And now we are all addicted to EDH. It's all we play besides Limited.
My play group is competitive. And I hate to use that term because it holds a negative tone to it. Whenever I tell people that, they think we sit around holding guns to each others temple, cursing like sailors, and throwing fits if we don't win. And I don't think that's fair. We have a BLAST. And I wouldn't play any other way. I have tried playing with a casual group. It just didn't work out for me. Too much complaining for my taste.
I've been playing for a while, and I'm considered the best player in our play group. This is probably because I spend a lot of effort on theorycrafting and deckbuilding and I have a very strong grasp of the rules. As such, I win a good bit. So I suppose results may vary but I have had success with this deck. And I think you will too.

Rofellos is awesome, and I keep trying to remember to pick one up. But I'm always looking for so many cards that I keep forgetting.
Once I get one he is going in, probably in place of Jorga Treespeaker since she doesn't allow for turn 2 Omnath anyways.
I also need to get a Gaea's Cradle. I'll make a wishlist when I do the rest of the touch ups.
Turn 2 Omnath is sweet because it means swinging for 5 commander damage on turn 3. And if choose to not spend any mana I have access to at least 8 mana on turn 4. 9 if I have another land. Turn 4 Terastodon is one of my favorite plays in 1v1 xD.

I got a Rofello's since Kaim had it fresh on my mind.
I have a few changes I'm thinking of making.
I like Lignify because it keeps things like Kaalia off my back for a while. But I think Beast Within is better in that spot.
I want more draw power and I think Mind's Eye would be a good addition. My first thought is to remove Ant Queen. I rarely find myself playing her and the only time she really shines is with Regal Force.
I also think I want to add Shyshroud Claim and Birds of Paradise.
Thoughts?

Nice snag on the rofellos, should be awesome. Lignify, while an awesome card, always ended up getting cut for me. Maybe run on of the generic X damage to fliers spells if Kaalia and her ilk are giving you issues? I agree on eye/claim as well. Draw and ramp is rarely ever bad.

I have Hurricane and Silklash for fliers (I tutor for silklash pretty often). I like Beast Within because it deals with any permanent. I'm kind of torn between Spine of Ish Sah and Beast Withing because the Kaalia player loves dropping Iona against me so the more Colorless answers the better. I think the instant speed of Beast Within puts it ahead though.
That does remind me I have been meaning to put Duplicant here.
What are my weakest links guys?

Ah good call didn't notice, my bad. Im not a fan of extraplanar lens, especially with sun/gauntlet/reflection already. Maybe you dont see yours blown up as often as I did, though. How has Helvault worked for you? Seems painfully slow
It's pretty good. It's one of those things I hate to see in opening hand but like to see 7th turn or later.
I have to deal with things like Ulamog, Blazing Archon, Avacyn, Iona, Blightsteel Colossus and other annoying threats. It's gets blown up pretty often but it usually doesn't have any ETB creatures under it. If it hits two of those creatures for a turn or two, great that's all I generally need. It usually lasts longer though because of the mass amount artifacts and enchantments that need to be dealt with before it.
Same with lens. I do go sad face when Lens gets blown up, but it's usually after I've gotten my value out of it. And green is scarce in my meta (black is main color which is why artifacts and enchantments are so hard for my opponents to deal with)
I'm kind of eyeing Spearbreaker Behemoth. He's done a lot of work for me in some game but I often find him doing nothing.

Id agree with behemoth, he's really hit or miss whenever I've tried him in the past. Anything you've personally noticed while playing that's not pulling weight?
Definitely a meta-call. I know some people swear they are horrible but they have worked for me so far. (About 2 years with this deck). Once my Playgroup wises up about them they might come out.
The Spearbreaker is one card that left me underwhelmed once or twice. I recently added Elderscale Wurm but I haven't seen him in a game so I have absolutely no idea how he performs.
Argothian Elder is also hit and miss sometimes.

I could definitely see replacing behemoth, maybe at the very least a trial replacement. Ever thought of swapping Garruk Wildspeaker for elder? Does about the same thing, doesnt get swept away, and could also chump/pump in a pinch. I know some metas arent as planeswalker friendly.
Hmm dunno why I never though about that. Garruk Wildspeaker sees a lot of play here as do several other walkers. I think I'll make that change. The overrun is relevant and fairly easy to get off.
Portal seems good, especially in a deck like this which can power it out early. Only issue is you can't really tutor for it (the irony.) But that's only a small downside imo. Also, what do you think of Yeva, Nature's Herald? Another flash enabler for omnath when he gets killed, or use his mana to flash out your other dudes at will.
I've considered her but not sure what I would cut. I want to add Winding Canyons. I ended up cutting some of the flash cards from the deck in it's earlier form (Aluren and Vernal Equinox).
I find giving my sorceries flash to be more powerful than giving my creatures flash. Though I like how she lets me keep Omnath around.
I think Planar Portal would probably grab G-wave 90% of the time. An answer the other 10%. Just not sure what I would cut for that either.

Its all meta dependent. If creatures seem tog et swept more she'd lose value i'd think. Then something like the previously mentioned Winding Canyons or even Vedalken Orrery would be better off. I could see cutting Soul's Majesty. You should be fine with Greater Good and Momentous Fall, no? The sorcery speed always killed it for me.
Also, is it weird i'm playing FFVIII while commenting?XD
Soul's Majesty has been great for me. I get to use it on things like Vorinclex without losing him. Draw is one thing I could never drop. I'm always looking to add more honestly.
We do see plenty of wipes, and I'm really the only one who plays LD (except for one guy who runs ruination) so Winding Canyons is a good add.
And no it's not weird. It's terrible. Switch to FFVII. Or I shall rain fire and brimstone on you.

Yeah, I mean I wasn't going to press helvault because I know we all have cards we just like. But it is kinda meh. Jivan has a great point, i used the flagship to great effect in Captain Sisay. Evasion/removal, and its not like you wont have mana to dump. Something to ponder. Also, why not remove a forest for canyons? Have the enchant-land cards been pulling weight? They seem like awful late game top decks.
Ill get around to it one day. Its just a matter of buying cards over..lesser hobbies lol.
