Just threw together an Omnath deck for a friend of mine who plays casually with me and wants to play EDH. He likes a simple swing with big creatures gameplan and his Mimeoplasm Pre-con was too tricksy for him. The few games he played with it he also disliked the way everyone focused on killing him. Monogreen is also fairly inexpensive to build, as long as I go with Parallel Lives instead of Doubling Season and forego the spendier tutors.
I know you've been playing your Kamahl deck for awhile, and Azusa before that. It seems a lot of people use Kamahl, Azusa, or Omnath as a general and then stick the other two in the deck. What do you think the benefits of the three are? With plenty of creature tutors I'm thinking of going with the general most likely to hit for general-damage and tutoring up Kamahl for his overrun ability.
One other question, is Elvish Visionary there mostly as a Birthing Pod target? Whenever I've seen her played (in elf decks) she gets bounced a lot.
Ahhh, got it. Just for starters flipping Yavimaya Dryad and Elvish Visionary back and forth to play as many forests/draw as many cards as you want. That's just a little broken.
You can't underestimate the power of a good curve in a ramp deck. I know that people look at ramp and big things as the core, but having something to do with that mana before Primeval Titan (or whatever) comes down is a huge way to set up a 1-turn lethal blow.
So, Visionary is great for that. She's a body. She draws a card. For 2 mana. With the top deck manipulation the deck has that can be huge. Also, as mentioned she combos with Cloudstone Curio and Aluren like crazy to draw the deck and usually set me up for infinite everything. It doesn't take much to hit those combos either. Even off simple things like Primordial Sage, Lurking Predators, Gaea's Cradle, and Regal Force she is added value.
Kamahl's overrun ability is nice, but not the reason I run him as the general. Azusa ramps... so? Green already does that just fine. Omnath can be big and sort of ramp, but... so? Green already can do that with a lot of other cards. Kamahl is the best Wrath insurance mono green has and it's on a legendary creature (seriously!?!). I never build around my general and treat them like an insurance policy that I have access to when I need them.
I saw your point when I started doing test draws of the list I'd drawn up so far... nope can't do anything this turn, or next turn.
Considering what you use Kamahl for, have you thought of Winding Canyons as a way to flash him in for his ability?
Nope. I like just sitting there with him on the board going, "I dare you." You always think in terms of efficiency and combo but with him, he's more a power move. It really feels like most of the time I play him I can just stand there thumping my chest saying, "WHAT?! WHAT!? WHAAaaaT!!!!?"
And then people die.
Edit: Sometimes it's me. Sometimes it's Kamahl. But somebody dies.
I would absolutely not remove Chord of Calling, the instant speed is amazing. Green doesn't have that many things to do on other people's turns.
I would totally add Powder Keg for early game defense, token hate, and mid-late game you can totally Armageddon somebody.
I don't know what your meta looks like, but Scavenging Ooze is very good. There's always somebody doing something obnoxious with the graveyard.
Lastly, there's hidden gem you might want to add in the form of Hall of Gemstone. During other people's turns, it shuts off multi-colored cards, and during you turn it shuts off counterspells. (since I assume you will pick green ;p) You could probably replace Dosan with it, it's more powerful but harder to tutor out.

My apologies, children, for I am afraid I cannot save you all.
I wouldn't remove Chord for anything at this point. It's always a solid play.
Powder Keg has been in the list but my goal hasn't ever really been to actively go after other peoples' lands. If they wrath and start me over I will wipe thief lands out but that's it. Keep in mind that this is my casual laid back deck.
Graveyard hate is so prevalent in my meta that I don't run any graveyard anything. Praetor's Counsel is about the most I mess with the grave, but even then it's usually an 8 mana Reliquary Emblem. In two years Genesis did it's thing twice... yuck.
I played and championed Hall of Gemstone for a long time because it seemed like it would be amazing. But it never did anything of note - people would just play their mono-colored spells to destroy it and then go about their business. City of Solitude served a similar role for a long time too, but it shut down too many things this deck wants to do. But now Dosan does what I need and does it very well (being a creature is a huge part of it since this in inherently a creature deck. Dosan has been very strong though and gets me just enough of what I need while still being very accessible. Finally, Hall of Gemstone is a World Enchantment and more than once it killed Crossroads... yuck as well.

It's important to pay attention to your curve in any deck even a ramp deck because what happens when they randomly wipe your board.
The ability recover two turns before the Wrath is just useful. I just look at mono-green differently. I take really long turns which makes most people mad.
I speak from experience from playing a Casual Legacy Elf decks for so many years. You'll learn when to overextend to bait the Wrath. It's pretty cool tricking players to burn their board wipes early.
Sorry Primordial Sage and Liege of the Tangle, but you had to go for now. Liege will probably alternate with Behemoth, but Soul of the Harvest beats out PrimSage so hard.
Craterhoof having haste is huge for me. There are times when I have an empty board and need to just drop something and swing post wrath. I like that he can bounce with Curio too.
Looking through cards tonight and pulled out my Wickerbough Elder. Seems better than Indrik Stomphowler in that for the same ultimate cost you can activate it at instant speed. Only downside is initial lower p/t. Also think you would enjoy Yeva, Nature's Herald. Playing creatures before your turn is pretty amazing. Green player with open mana is disconcerting. Flashing in Kamahl at the right time could be brutal.
@Galspanic: I'm in awe of that art. It's absolutely phenomenal. What would it take for you to do that kind of art for a deck of mine? I have money and have also been told I give great high-fives.

It isn't cheap and it would require 3-4 months. But if you are really interested you can message me. Soliciting in threads isn't really allowed.

WUBRG Some of these decks can actually win games...WUBRG
How I know I should build a deck:
Elvish Visionary helps going infinite with Cloudstone Curio and either Aluren or infinite mana.
