- Cathar's Crusade is very intersting, though I think would be a little too slow for my Darien. Completely wish this card cost only 4 mana...and for Animar's sake...was in green cause then it would have a home there (see my Animar build for details on that one)
- Angelic Skirmisher is a very interesting card. I like it. Will look for a spot. I previously toyed around with True Conviction but could not make it work. With a body attached and a choice of what to apply...I think it would be a very nice fit. Thanks! (now...what to cut...)

It has been explosively good in my groups, as the only other monocolor deck is Omnath, and he rarely plays it. This past weekend, it killed 5 other generals before my game-winning attack (Teysa 2.0, Thraximundar, Damia, Adun Oakenshield, and Progenitus). Definitely an all-star

Interesting build. As far as creatures are concerned, most you have posted in your list have run through my build and some point or another. Some of the cards you have are well out of my price range....though it seems that 100 slots fills up too quickly anyways...not sure what I would cut for a Land Tax or a Mind's Eye....would cut something though.
Gift of Estates appears to be a really good white card for ensuring you make your land drops. I'll definately consider that.
Renounce the Guilds looks very interesting for a kill spell. I probably won't see most of it's effect though as often I play 1vs1 instead of multi....but I'll definately keep the idea listed for when we do go multi.

Since you're keeping tabs on this thread, I'll post my thoughts on your card suggestions here. Might help you determine what to include for your build as well:
Life gain (+card draw)
- Survival Cache -- I find this to be a very situational card. In addition, it's 'win more' as you need to be ahead in life to make full use of the card. Granted, since white does not have alot of access to card draw, it may be worth considering....I'd just hate to gain 4 life off of 3 mana...
- Congregate -- This is pure lifegain. Not required as my build can generate insane amounts of life already.
- Festival of Trokin -- see above
- Rhox Faithmender -- Recently saw this card and it could become super abusive in my build. However, I decided against this one mostly because it's not a soldier...nor is it an impacting non-solider.
- Lightkeeper of emeria -- Again, after the lifegain, this guy becomes fairly mediocre.
- Suture Priest -- Had considered this as another alternative for Darien. Will probably add it one day.
- Felidar Sovereign -- Never been much for insta-wincon. It's a good card....just personal choice.
- Auriok Champion -- As soon as I find a copy for a budget price, I'll be getting this card. It's been on my wishlist for quite some time.
- Healer of the Pride -- I'd get the other two before this guy.
Buffs:
- Crusade -- Am avoiding anthem effects as I want my opponents to think themselves safe when they swing.
- Swell of Courage -- I never used the reinforce so it became a weaker copy of Guardians' Pledge.
- Celestial Crusader -- This guy was in my deck for quite awhile. I like him alot. He was ultimately cut for Goldnight Commander.
- Phantom General -- only effects tokens. I generally have a decent board of non-tokens aswell.
- Sublime Archangel -- Would LOVE a copy of this guy. Price is the main factor though.
- Ajani's Pridemate -- Had this guy in but ultimately was a very subpar fattie.
Other:
- Chalice of Life -- This is an interesting card. I didn't care much for the flip mechanic, but I can actually see myself running this card in my Vampire Tribal deck instead, as it too has significant lifegain.
- Lightning Greaves -- While it's the best general protection, I wanted to take the angle of having my opponents think they can rid my general only to be stopped by a Rebuff the Wicked or Emerge Unscathed, etc.
- Windborn Muse -- This would definately be a decent card to include. Reason why I haven't is my meta doesn't really build swarm heavy decks.
- Sunblast Angel -- Limited to tapped creatures. I have better wrathes.
- Shrine of Loyal Legions -- This could be a very decent card. Sad that it's not soldiers...
- Serra Avatar -- This guy is just win more in my build.
- Frontline Medic -- This would be a good card. I decided to try out the battalion mechanic with Odric, Master Tactician first though...and Odric is a soldier.
Control:
- Oblivion Ring -- The classic. However, too many times this card has hindered me more than helped as it protects the exiled creature in the case of a board wipe...and with the right wipe even brings that creature back to frustrate me.
- Recumbent Bliss -- Used to have this card in my build when I had more enchantments. Took it out when I converted to the 'hit me if you dare' theme.
- Journey to Nowhere -- see above
- Spirit of the Hearth -- I have never really felt the need to shroud myself.
- Pentarch Paladin -- Way too mana intensive. I tried it out and in monowhite it just stank.
As for other PW's, the cost can be fairly prohibitive for my budget....and no PW is really a 'wrong' choice, but because I have so few PW's, I've given myself the unwritten rule of only having one PW per deck. Kinda like the General's Sage...
Out of the three there, Gideon would be the most thematic, though I think Ajani would fit best. Ultimately, I waited long and patiently for my Elspeht, Knight Errant and I think I made the right choice in aquiring her. She has yet to fail me.

- Honor of the Pure -- While definately better than Crusade, I still am avoiding anthem effects. Just last night it happened to me again where I had Marshall's Anthem in play and then I drew Skullclamp.....grumble grumble.
- Adaptive Automaton -- I'd rather an enchantment. It's harder to deal with.
- Crovax, Ascendant Hero -- This guy has been coming and going from my build several times. I love the -1/-1 effect along with the ability to bounce him at instant speed. Problem is the mana cost. 6 mana is too much for that effect. Imo this card should be rebuilt:

I'd love to go through your list BUT I'm going to need a little background information as to how you want your deck to operate. Otherwise, I'd be giving you advice on how I think your deck should operate....which would lean toward how I have my deck operating....
Share you strategies, wincons, plans, who your up against, and I'll try carve it like a turkey roast.
So, in the meantime, I'm going to go through your list assuming that you are mirroring my build to some extent:
You have many PW's in your list, most of which I cannot speak to. I suppose all I have to say to this is that I've seen many threads on this site that say PW's can actually be a bane rather than a blessing because it puts crosshairs on your lifetotal.
- Aegis Angel may not be as good as you hope it to be. Lot's of removal can get around indestrucitbility. Additionally, there is no 'flash' so it's really really slow.
- Angel's Grace is a card I had considered in my initial build, but eventually was scrapped. It's VERY conditional, and it's a condition you don't want to aim for being in.
- Swell of Courage is a card I've found I really just don't like. It's too expensive and I never end up using the 'reinforce'. Guardians' Pledge is much better imo. Leonin Sun Standard too...I've won games on turn 5 with this little gem.
- Cathars' Crusade, while I agree is really strong; I'll also say that it takes a bit to set up. I've thought about it for my build, but really....with 200 1/1 soliders crossing the field....they don't really need to be 200/200's .
- Skullclamp is a double edged sword with anthems on the field. One of the main reasons I've been pulling my anthems out....every time I draw this I have an anthem out and it becomes a wasted card.
- City of Brass is a card that I would auto-include. Price is the only thing that stops me at the moment.
Anyways, hopefully I'm not misleading you. As mentioned, if you provide more details as to how your deck is to be run, I'll have a better idea of what to recommend cutting and adding...
As for the goals: Well a little bit it's mirroring your list sure, as I guess the goal of Darien should always be to get as many tokens on the board as possible and big swing with them buffed.
I'm not sure yet if I wanna take out all anthems or not as I don't really have the possibility to test both options (I don't own many cards as I started magic not so long ago ;))
Further I always want to have options to win without the commander....
That's pretty it I dont have much more different aproach I could say.
As for the playgroup: Well there is almost everything around here, however I play mostly multiplayer even with 4 - 6 people that means playing that passive is pretty funny because first it shows not much threat.
The only weakness I experienced till now is that with Darien you tent to build up a board like soul sister some 2 other soldiers and then darien, and just 1 wrath destroys ALL of it. And in multi there is many wrathes....
1 Problem I see is: there is some decks around that go for commander damage, 1 of it is progenitus.... pretty hard to handle...
As for the tribal: It's nice, but in the end if you give me a card that's really good for the win, I don't care if it's no soldier
PW's: For me it's more a crosshair on the PW than on my head.... I'll test that a bit more, but 1 or 2 are sure worth to cut if I can get some more of the cards you have on the list.
Wayfarer: multiple searches and any land you want = much better
Angels: I just love the fun part of playing this card and backswing, even if you go down to 1, you can maybe die as a martyrer :DDD
Guardians Pledge ok I must get this! But: why not both? (what to cut ^^)
The standard: I'm not so sure about this, isn't it against your no anthems thingy? Further Isn't an anthem out giving +2+2 a lot better than having to pay mana for it every turn? And I feel an enchantment is harder to handle than an artifact...
Cathars: 200 Soldiers? HOW?
Skullclamp/Anthems: Even if you don't draw directly skullclamp is always good on a blocker or even on Darien....
A well placed Nomads' Assembly can really generate ALOT of troops aswell...
Mobilization is another great card to sink mana into.
Also I should mention as is stated in my op, my group doesn't play with general damage. Oddly, it doesn't change the way decks develop because we still see voltron hit the table quite readily...but in truth it does weaken them a slight bit, usually by 1 or 2 swings.
Also, do not underestimate the power of Reconnaissance. This card is AMAZING. It a one-sided fog effect that also grants all your troops psuedo vigilence, as you can untap all your troops in response to the stack damage, ie damage is still done yet they are removed from combat. Maybe I'm explaining it poorly, but I asked about this card on two separate occasions and it was explained to me that it was so. AMAZING.
A well placed Nomads' Assembly can really generate ALOT of troops aswell...

I used to have Cloudstone Curio in at one point. Made bouncing for ETB's really easy. But I've since narrows my ETB creatures, so I took it out...that and I use the card in my Animar deck now.
I've also found Scout's Warning to be an excellant way to generate LOTS of soliders and is found to be way better than Angel's Grace. It has the added flexibility of NOT being endanger from lethal damage, yet casting your general when your opponents don't think you can is a great way to build troops.
I took out Nomads' Assembly in favor of Conqueror's Pledge mostly for the consistency of token generation and to help on the curve a little more. I still think it's a great card and would have no problem adding it again....if I knew what to cut for it...
Reconnaissance: As I've come to understand it, if you are being blocked and will lose your solider, you have the choice to bale from combat and damage is not done to you nor is done to the blocker. However, for any soldier that is not blocked, you have the option to keep your damage on the stack, allow it to fall off the stack and in response to the combat ending activate to untap those soliders....hense 'psuedo-vigillence'
Leonin Sun Standard: As to the point of 'isn't it against your no-anthems approach' --> Actually no. You have the control when you anthem and when you don't which means that you can attack/block with mana on the side and you're opponent doesn't know if you are going to pump or cast something from your hand.
As for small creatures to cut:
- You have 5 creatures that grant life when creatures enter the battlefield. I know that's how Darien is suppose to work, but I would say that's a little redundant. Healer of the Pride is definately one I would cut.
- Celestial Crusader is another nice trick....but I've found it's application to be quite narrow, often casting on my turn.
- Retaliate is a card I actually just cut. It's been turning out to be a much poorer one-sided boardwipe than I was hoping for.
- True Conviction was a card I was instantly disappointed with. A bunch of 1/1's with doublestrike is just...underwhelming. Definately this card has value in a Red/White beaters deck, but in white weenies....I just don't see it.
Also, I've got to throw this out there: Pristine Talisman is probably the most overlooked powerhouse cards....ever...printed. Yeah, I probably exagerate that point but so so many games when I get that card out, 20 turns go by of 'why are you not dead yet' and it take so long for them to realize that this one card is basically granting me 50% more starting life than everyone else....and it's ramp. AND it turn into 'tap: draw a card with Well Of Lost Dreams.
It looks at though your build is more of a weenie-overrun strategy. Mine is a little more oriented with monowhite control.
Nevertheless...
- I'm not sure where the angle is with your rebels subtheme. Tutoring for other subpar rebels seems to be an expensive venture. However, I have never experianced working with rebels...so I can't comment as to whether or not it's actually viable....I'll just note that it seems out of place.
- I really like your Soltari package. Take care though in that while shadow helps them get through...it also means they can't block.

- I'm going through the rest of your list here and I gotta say that there is really nothing wrong with any of your card selection. They're all really really good cards. Much better than the cards I own anyways... However, I would sooner align this build with 'goodstuff mono-white' than with any particular theme like soldiers or white weenies.
- One thing that I do notice missing is boardwipes. No Hallowed Burial, Hour of Reckoning, Martial Coup? These are great cards that can be devastational. Combined with all the graveyard recur you got packaged in your build, I think you would do well to toss your rebels and instead invest in some more boardstate control.

Interesting build. As far as creatures are concerned, most you have posted in your list have run through my build and some point or another. Some of the cards you have are well out of my price range....though it seems that 100 slots fills up too quickly anyways...not sure what I would cut for a Land Tax or a Mind's Eye....would cut something though.
Gift of Estates appears to be a really good white card for ensuring you make your land drops. I'll definately consider that.
Nomad's Assembly I just took out in favor of Conqueror's Pledge.
Renounce the Guilds looks very interesting for a kill spell. I probably won't see most of it's effect though as often I play 1vs1 instead of multi....but I'll definately keep the idea listed for when we do go multi.
Since you're keeping tabs on this thread, I'll post my thoughts on your card suggestions here. Might help you determine what to include for your build as well:
Life gain (+card draw)
- Survival Cache -- I find this to be a very situational card. In addition, it's 'win more' as you need to be ahead in life to make full use of the card. Granted, since white does not have alot of access to card draw, it may be worth considering....I'd just hate to gain 4 life off of 3 mana...
- Congregate -- This is pure lifegain. Not required as my build can generate insane amounts of life already.
- Festival of Trokin -- see above
- Rhox Faithmender -- Recently saw this card and it could become super abusive in my build. However, I decided against this one mostly because it's not a soldier...nor is it an impacting non-solider.
- Lightkeeper of emeria -- Again, after the lifegain, this guy becomes fairly mediocre.
- Suture Priest -- Had considered this as another alternative for Darien. Will probably add it one day.
- Felidar Sovereign -- Never been much for insta-wincon. It's a good card....just personal choice.
- Auriok Champion -- As soon as I find a copy for a budget price, I'll be getting this card. It's been on my wishlist for quite some time.
- Healer of the Pride -- I'd get the other two before this guy.
Buffs:
- Crusade -- Am avoiding anthem effects as I want my opponents to think themselves safe when they swing.
- Swell of Courage -- I never used the reinforce so it became a weaker copy of Guardians' Pledge.
- Celestial Crusader -- This guy was in my deck for quite awhile. I like him alot. He was ultimately cut for Goldnight Commander.
- Phantom General -- only effects tokens. I generally have a decent board of non-tokens aswell.
- Sublime Archangel -- Would LOVE a copy of this guy. Price is the main factor though.
- Ajani's Pridemate -- Had this guy in but ultimately was a very subpar fattie.
Other:
- Chalice of Life -- This is an interesting card. I didn't care much for the flip mechanic, but I can actually see myself running this card in my Vampire Tribal deck instead, as it too has significant lifegain.
- Lightning Greaves -- While it's the best general protection, I wanted to take the angle of having my opponents think they can rid my general only to be stopped by a Rebuff the Wicked or Emerge Unscathed, etc.
- Windborn Muse -- This would definately be a decent card to include. Reason why I haven't is my meta doesn't really build swarm heavy decks.
- Sunblast Angel -- Limited to tapped creatures. I have better wrathes.
- Shrine of Loyal Legions -- This could be a very decent card. Sad that it's not soldiers...
- Serra Avatar -- This guy is just win more in my build.
- Frontline Medic -- This would be a good card. I decided to try out the battalion mechanic with Odric, Master Tactician first though...and Odric is a soldier.
Control:
- Oblivion Ring -- The classic. However, too many times this card has hindered me more than helped as it protects the exiled creature in the case of a board wipe...and with the right wipe even brings that creature back to frustrate me.
- Recumbent Bliss -- Used to have this card in my build when I had more enchantments. Took it out when I converted to the 'hit me if you dare' theme.
- Journey to Nowhere -- see above
- Spirit of the Hearth -- I have never really felt the need to shroud myself.
- Pentarch Paladin -- Way too mana intensive. I tried it out and in monowhite it just stank.
PWs:
- Ajani Goldmane put counters on 20 soldiers --> op....

As for other PW's, the cost can be fairly prohibitive for my budget....and no PW is really a 'wrong' choice, but because I have so few PW's, I've given myself the unwritten rule of only having one PW per deck. Kinda like the General's Sage...
Out of the three there, Gideon would be the most thematic, though I think Ajani would fit best. Ultimately, I waited long and patiently for my Elspeht, Knight Errant and I think I made the right choice in aquiring her. She has yet to fail me.

- Honor of the Pure -- While definately better than Crusade, I still am avoiding anthem effects. Just last night it happened to me again where I had Marshall's Anthem in play and then I drew Skullclamp.....grumble grumble.
- Adaptive Automaton -- I'd rather an enchantment. It's harder to deal with.
- Crovax, Ascendant Hero -- This guy has been coming and going from my build several times. I love the -1/-1 effect along with the ability to bounce him at instant speed. Problem is the mana cost. 6 mana is too much for that effect. Imo this card should be rebuilt:

Kor Skyfisher is a solid 2/3 flyer for starters. At worst I bounce a token and now I have a decent blocker in the air.
At most, I make use of it's bounce to double up on an ETB: Stormfront Riders, Captain of the Watch, Attended Knight. Knight-Captain of Eos can generate troops. Azorius Justiciar, Reveillark, and Sun Titan do some pretty silly things.

You have many PW's in your list, most of which I cannot speak to. I suppose all I have to say to this is that I've seen many threads on this site that say PW's can actually be a bane rather than a blessing because it puts crosshairs on your lifetotal.
- Weathered Wayfarer is a really good card, but I recently decided to opt for Knight of the White Orchid. I'll see how it plays out.
- Aegis Angel may not be as good as you hope it to be. Lot's of removal can get around indestrucitbility. Additionally, there is no 'flash' so it's really really slow.
- Angel's Grace is a card I had considered in my initial build, but eventually was scrapped. It's VERY conditional, and it's a condition you don't want to aim for being in.
- Swell of Courage is a card I've found I really just don't like. It's too expensive and I never end up using the 'reinforce'. Guardians' Pledge is much better imo. Leonin Sun Standard too...I've won games on turn 5 with this little gem.
- Cathars' Crusade, while I agree is really strong; I'll also say that it takes a bit to set up. I've thought about it for my build, but really....with 200 1/1 soliders crossing the field....they don't really need to be 200/200's .
- Skullclamp is a double edged sword with anthems on the field. One of the main reasons I've been pulling my anthems out....every time I draw this I have an anthem out and it becomes a wasted card.
- City of Brass is a card that I would auto-include. Price is the only thing that stops me at the moment.
Anyways, hopefully I'm not misleading you. As mentioned, if you provide more details as to how your deck is to be run, I'll have a better idea of what to recommend cutting and adding...

As for the goals: Well a little bit it's mirroring your list sure, as I guess the goal of Darien should always be to get as many tokens on the board as possible and big swing with them buffed.
I'm not sure yet if I wanna take out all anthems or not as I don't really have the possibility to test both options (I don't own many cards as I started magic not so long ago ;))
Further I always want to have options to win without the commander....
That's pretty it I dont have much more different aproach I could say.
As for the playgroup: Well there is almost everything around here, however I play mostly multiplayer even with 4 - 6 people that means playing that passive is pretty funny because first it shows not much threat.
The only weakness I experienced till now is that with Darien you tent to build up a board like soul sister some 2 other soldiers and then darien, and just 1 wrath destroys ALL of it. And in multi there is many wrathes....
1 Problem I see is: there is some decks around that go for commander damage, 1 of it is progenitus.... pretty hard to handle...
As for the tribal: It's nice, but in the end if you give me a card that's really good for the win, I don't care if it's no soldier
PW's: For me it's more a crosshair on the PW than on my head.... I'll test that a bit more, but 1 or 2 are sure worth to cut if I can get some more of the cards you have on the list.
Wayfarer: multiple searches and any land you want = much better
Angels: I just love the fun part of playing this card and backswing, even if you go down to 1, you can maybe die as a martyrer :DDD
Guardians Pledge ok I must get this! But: why not both? (what to cut ^^)
The standard: I'm not so sure about this, isn't it against your no anthems thingy? Further Isn't an anthem out giving +2+2 a lot better than having to pay mana for it every turn? And I feel an enchantment is harder to handle than an artifact...
Cathars: 200 Soldiers? HOW?
Skullclamp/Anthems: Even if you don't draw directly skullclamp is always good on a blocker or even on Darien....
City: well I opened 1 in my modern masters box...
Stormfront Riders + Cryptic Gateway = Infinite 1/1 Soldiers
A well placed Nomads' Assembly can really generate ALOT of troops aswell...
Mobilization is another great card to sink mana into.
Also I should mention as is stated in my op, my group doesn't play with general damage. Oddly, it doesn't change the way decks develop because we still see voltron hit the table quite readily...but in truth it does weaken them a slight bit, usually by 1 or 2 swings.
Also, do not underestimate the power of Reconnaissance. This card is AMAZING. It a one-sided fog effect that also grants all your troops psuedo vigilence, as you can untap all your troops in response to the stack damage, ie damage is still done yet they are removed from combat. Maybe I'm explaining it poorly, but I asked about this card on two separate occasions and it was explained to me that it was so. AMAZING.

nomad's: you took it out don't you?
reconnaissance: if you go until the dmg step your soldiers get also dmg dealt by blockers, even if you untap them,
however as for my understanding when they changed the rule, dmg is not on the stack anymore so I'm not sure if you can even take them out of combat dealing dmg I don't think this works....?
What about the rest, what would you cut for your small creatures I still miss?
I used to have Cloudstone Curio in at one point. Made bouncing for ETB's really easy. But I've since narrows my ETB creatures, so I took it out...that and I use the card in my Animar deck now.
I've also found Scout's Warning to be an excellant way to generate LOTS of soliders and is found to be way better than Angel's Grace. It has the added flexibility of NOT being endanger from lethal damage, yet casting your general when your opponents don't think you can is a great way to build troops.
I took out Nomads' Assembly in favor of Conqueror's Pledge mostly for the consistency of token generation and to help on the curve a little more. I still think it's a great card and would have no problem adding it again....if I knew what to cut for it...
Reconnaissance: As I've come to understand it, if you are being blocked and will lose your solider, you have the choice to bale from combat and damage is not done to you nor is done to the blocker. However, for any soldier that is not blocked, you have the option to keep your damage on the stack, allow it to fall off the stack and in response to the combat ending activate to untap those soliders....hense 'psuedo-vigillence'
Leonin Sun Standard: As to the point of 'isn't it against your no-anthems approach' --> Actually no. You have the control when you anthem and when you don't which means that you can attack/block with mana on the side and you're opponent doesn't know if you are going to pump or cast something from your hand.
As for small creatures to cut:
- You have 5 creatures that grant life when creatures enter the battlefield. I know that's how Darien is suppose to work, but I would say that's a little redundant. Healer of the Pride is definately one I would cut.
- Celestial Crusader is another nice trick....but I've found it's application to be quite narrow, often casting on my turn.
- Retaliate is a card I actually just cut. It's been turning out to be a much poorer one-sided boardwipe than I was hoping for.
- True Conviction was a card I was instantly disappointed with. A bunch of 1/1's with doublestrike is just...underwhelming. Definately this card has value in a Red/White beaters deck, but in white weenies....I just don't see it.
Imo, you need some Hour of Reckoning and Martial Coup. They're game winners.
Also, I've got to throw this out there: Pristine Talisman is probably the most overlooked powerhouse cards....ever...printed. Yeah, I probably exagerate that point but so so many games when I get that card out, 20 turns go by of 'why are you not dead yet' and it take so long for them to realize that this one card is basically granting me 50% more starting life than everyone else....and it's ramp. AND it turn into 'tap: draw a card with Well Of Lost Dreams.
Anyways, hope this helps...

It looks at though your build is more of a weenie-overrun strategy. Mine is a little more oriented with monowhite control.

- I'm not sure where the angle is with your rebels subtheme. Tutoring for other subpar rebels seems to be an expensive venture. However, I have never experianced working with rebels...so I can't comment as to whether or not it's actually viable....I'll just note that it seems out of place.
- I really like your Soltari package. Take care though in that while shadow helps them get through...it also means they can't block.

- I'm going through the rest of your list here and I gotta say that there is really nothing wrong with any of your card selection. They're all really really good cards. Much better than the cards I own anyways... However, I would sooner align this build with 'goodstuff mono-white' than with any particular theme like soldiers or white weenies.
- One thing that I do notice missing is boardwipes. No Hallowed Burial, Hour of Reckoning, Martial Coup? These are great cards that can be devastational. Combined with all the graveyard recur you got packaged in your build, I think you would do well to toss your rebels and instead invest in some more boardstate control.
