Agree that Deadeye is more of a toy. I tried him for a day in Damia as another way to go infinite or pair with Venser for a counter magic lock, and then took him out.
I have a laquatus in my legendary creature section and he always intrigues me. The problem for me is finding enough ways to use him without going infinite (we generally avoid infinites in our group). Training grounds and heartstone make it cheaper, caged sun allows you to do a lot. The problem is actually milling people out in multiplayer without infinite mana. Dizzy spell transmuting for training grounds is sweet, but how do I get it back if it dies- is that even remotely fast enough to mill someone? It would be decent to self-mill but in mono blue that seems unnecessary.
Seems better in a combo friendly environment. Neat general.

If you're not going infinite and still want to mill you might as well go Pillow Fort and try to use Keening Stone or something.
Well, honestly, mill is not a viable strategy in commander, specially multiplayer, unless you are somehow going infinite. And if you want to self-mill, Azamis is almost always better in Mono-U, as she combos well without going infinite if you don't want to, and Lab Maniac fits in her Wizard theme. Laquatus is a combo Cokmmander, through and through. Let's say you have....
Laquatus, six islands, training grounds, caged sun....you get to mill 18 cards. Wellm let's assume it has been six turns, and everyone has drawn ~10 cards. Well, you have to ge trid of...82 cards from each person, and this is assuming that you have somehow gotten rid of all the eldrazi titans they have...You're going to be the guy in the background doing something cool but useless while the other players roflstomp you.

Huge facelift on the front page, I have now updated past DKA and will remove the note when I feel the list is finalized for the season, and will be updating as Ravnica sets come out.

Indeed. You dont want to run too many cards that are useless on their own.

What does everyone think of the adding of Omniscience? It feels useful to me, but it might be too out of the way of the main strategy. Thoughts?

I am still tryign to remember how to format these right. While my dream is still to eventually make this a primer, I am working on understanding how new cards and the current meta affect this list and how it plays. I will be focusing on learning what all of the new cards are first, and this list will slowly get updated and streamlined for more modern play. Thank you all for your help in the past, and for hopefully understanding my need for the hiatus I took. I missed this list and can't wait to get back to playing it more often!
