Second Post of my other core deck Ruhan of the Fomori!
In the past I've had up to 12 EDH decks constructed at once, but felt this was stretching myself too thin and in past years have begun to focus on really just two decks in particular; my Savra deck and this One. I enjoy how the two dovetail with respect to their colors as it allows me to play pretty much every good card from each color in a deck while at the same time having two reasonably powerful and extremely diverse lists. Ruhan is truly a companion to Savra.
Disclaimers regarding my local Meta:
We have a soft spot for what we call 'true highlander' i.e. decks with no copies of any cards whatsoever including basic lands. Generally this means you run the basics and snow-covereds of your colors, but no other basic lands. The rationale behind this is that most decks would be a hell of a lot more consistent if you could play an ideal mana base using basics, and the fact that the rest of your lands that aren't either utility or dual lands tend to be strictly worse than basics allows for powerful decks that are neutered to some degree by shaky mana bases.
As a consequence of the above: Mono-color decks are scarce, as the rule is waived for them and they tend to dominate with their mana consistency.
Non-basic land hate is de-facto banned. We still love our Avalanche Riders, Reap and Sow, and Terastodon for those aggravating Maze of Ith, Kor Haven, Academy Ruins etc. but things like Price of Progress, Back to Basics, Primal Order and especially Ruination are frowned upon, and we enjoy the power level of things like Wilderness Elemental, Mercadia's Downfall etc.
Mass Land destruction, Time walk effects, and straight combo decks are scarce as well, as we have generally grown tired of their antics. Its only rarely that a game is won with a Reiterate + Mana Geyser
, and Tooth and Nail is rarely an auto-win.
We tend to play 4-6 player Free-For-All games.
I'm pretty comfortable with how the deck stands as of now, but have relished the idea of throwing a Snapcaster Mage into the works to join the Chronarch, Wall, and Archeomancer.
Feedback on inclusions, exclusions, CONfusions, suggestions and comments are all welcome (please be gentle...) I've had this deck together for a number of years and have what I consider a good reason for every inclusion, but would welcome arguments against particular cards or a trend in the deck itself.
Absorb and Suffocating Blast are both Sunforger-able and being able to rip a counter spell out of the hammer is one of the most powerful things it can do IMO. In the past I've even had Double Negative in the place of Absorb, and with Maelstrom Wanderer in the mix it might return. Furthermore, while the two target requirement for suffocating blast may be restrictive, it does allow for two-for-ones on smaller utility creatures
General changed to Ruhan. I found myself never casting Numot and finding him underwhelming whenever i did. Ruhan I am enjoying fine for now as he is cheap, fat, and so far pretty effective. He can send in random beats early on when people might not have blockers, or smash a few smaller creatures. Or late game he can be a fat blocker if i need one and when its down to one on one at the end a multiplayer game he is just brutal.
Also cut thran dynamo for meddling mage. Dynamo is just kinda meh for now and i think Gilded Lotus/Ingot/Sol Ring/Relic are fine for mana rocks. The mage is cheap and can hose generals or cards recently recurred, and as a bonus he is reveillark and sun titan-able

The deck tends to just sling out staples, abusing ETB effects and Sunforger in particular, and wins tend to come from Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion or Gisela, Blade of Goldnight (or both!) in concert with broken equipment.
