MTG Salvation

Hello first time posting a deck, this is the 9th EDH that I built, I like to use the cards I have in my pool or at worst if the card is really worth it I will go buy it if its under $5 bucks.

I started playing during Invasion and quit after Mirridon when I realized T2 wasn't worth it and bought like a fat pack and 3-12 packs of each expansion after that except M10, Lorywn and Morningtide (Wotc cancelled Duel Masters and I was pissed, after all MTG cards I spent good money to play T2 dropped in value, then I invested in another one of there games only to have them pull the plug again, so I boycotted them for a year). So I think there maybe some cards I have no clue about there (although this forum is a godsend when I learned about EDH/Commander format) and due to my buying practice it was no-brainer to get back into magic by playing this format. I found Lyzolda in the fat pack box for Dissension and said lets build a deck around her and here it is.... I play with 4 other guys so the deck doesn't need to be over the top,





I thought about using undying creatures but wasn't impressed except for Mike. Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks for looking !!!

You don't think Flayer of the Hatebound is worth consideration? You have a bit of reanimation, and at worst it's a total of two bodies and some direct damage to spread around.

I agree I missed this guy or I may not have him but his price is right and undying seems like it works perfect with Lyzolda, I just wish her pinging ability counted as commander damage :-)......

P.S. - How do get the deck to show in the border box that most other people do when posting a deck?

Use [/deck] to close the code and [deck] to start the code.

Okay after playing a few games with this deck, changes needed to be made:

- Shambling Remains, + Tsabo Tavoc
- Shivan Zombie, + Blazing Specter
- Torchling, + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed
- Hellkite Charger, + Triskelion
- Death's Duet, + Blood Artist
- Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded, + Karn Liberated
- Scrabbling Claws, + Nihil Spellbomb
- Swiftfoot Boots, + Vedalken Orrey
- Browbeat, + Crystal Ball
- Lava Zombie, + Darksteel Ingot

Reason for the changes was to hopefully shore up some weakness the deck had, Tsabo takes care of legends and boy alot of them are running around in my group (not just commanders), Blazing Specter adds to the discard theme which this deck needed more of, Mikaeus just gives the deck a ton more fuel, Triskelion combo's with Mikaeus, Blood Artist fits right in with the theme of creatuers dying & recurring them, Karn takes care of those pesky enchantments that kill this deck and helps with discard theme, Nihil is just so much better then Scrabbling Claws plus it cantrips, Orrey with all the sorcery spells and creatures gives the deck a more surprise factor, Browbeat was basically 5 pts of damage at least the Crystal Ball will alllow me to manipulate my top deck, and Ingot was added to up my mana count.

I have Flayer of the Hatebound ordered and most likely will replace Hellrider cause it fits much better with the theme.

So after playing this deck for a year, I have made some changes as new expansions came out, so instead of posting the changes I'm just going to repost the deck in it's current form and the deck runs alot smoother as is:



The gameplan is to strip hands, grave pact there creature using Lyzolda ability and Guttersnipe & Grey Merchant have shown there worth in this deck.

Anything I might need that doesn't cost over $5? I'm working on getting a Blood Crypt and Dragonskull Summit to replace the tapped lands. Illness in the Ranks has been nice as I play against Ghave, Rhys & Prossh in my meta.

Not sure if you are still working on this deck but I have found necropotence to be really strong in my lyzolda list. Makes gray merchant hits really strong.
