A change in general? Interesting. I tried playing MW for a while, but was sorely disappointed. I felt like I was really not using him to his full potential whenever I cascaded and whatnot...but running stuff like Destructive Force, Apocalypse, Devastation, Primeval Titan, and Avenger of Zendikar just isn't my style. (Or yours, for that matter. Even I can tell that from what I've read here.)
That said, there are some rather hilarious things you might consider now. I'd recommend a way to search out Radiate/other spells that are dead on most cascades, as Maelstrom into nothing is a sad sad day. Oh and you may want to swap Blasphemous Act for another similar, seven-mana-or-less card. Chain Reaction maybe?
Maybe you'd consider cards like Thundermare and Timbermare, Evacuation and Devastation Tide, Sun Quan, Lord of Wu, Deepchannel Mentor and Rage Reflection. You're playing a three-hit general now, and these are all pretty good in your deck just on their own (except Deepchannel Mentor and maybe Rage Reflection, although I know with Guided Passage you want to avoid a high creature count, but the others still definitely are worth a look, at least.)
Commander!
Intet, the Dreamer
Azusa, Lost but Seeking
Heartless Hidetsugu
Sun Quan, Lord of Wu
Celestial Kirin
Maga, Traitor to Mortals
Sir Shandlar of Eberyn
Karona, False God

I love you for the sheer fact you mentioned Thundermare
Because I've definitely considered it for this deck....the thought of blinking it repeatedly makes me giggle....and the art is funny in a ridiculous kind of way....the offbeatness of it is definitely attractive. I'm not sure if I want to add another creature slot...but I'm definitely going to give it some thought.
I think it could benefit me to use evacuation type wraths in place of damage based ones...because most of my guys have ETB effects
I currently have gamble, intuition, and mystical tutor among the 4 other library manipulating cards and impulse effects to search out radiate and other non-cascadables ....I also use proteus staff to roughly stack my deck in a beneficial manner. Do you think I need more ways to search it out?
The only thing keeping me from running bribery is that I missed the boat on scoring a cheap one and haven't dropped the 15 bucks necessary to get my hands on one yet.:-/
Thanks for the suggestions! Lots of food for thought!
- Blasphemous Act, + Devastation Tide....cascadable and bounces my etb dudes...may become evacuation...not sure on that yet.
- Lace with Moonglove, + Cytoshape....more chaotic feeling, LwM is a favorite of mine, but cytoshape has the potential for good plays both offensively and defensively.
- Intuition, + Long-Term Plans....Intuition always results in a life from the loam engine dependence....long-term plans plays more nicely with my general, allowing me to one day live the dream of cascading into day of the dragons transforming my goat army into hasty dragons for an alpha strike
I'm really trying to fit in Heartbeat of Spring and/or Mana Flare....I think their inclusion could be a big improvement...
Still debating on the Whirlpool Warrior slot as well....one helpful thing about WW is shuffling late game cards that find their way into your hand early game....and it plays well with life from the loam shenanigans
- Wild Ricochet, + Bribery....finally got my hands on one. It's a better cascade and radiate target.....of the two copy spells, I enjoy reiterate more than wild ricochet
EDIT:
- Pongify, + Reins of Power.....I noticed I was going a little overboard on spot removal, so I decided to make this change. Reins of Power is nuts with Day of Dragons....its also fun to give people kobolds and goats in place of their fatties.
- Grab the Reins, + Heartbeat of Spring.....This was a difficult cut, and still not certain of it. Grab the reins is a little spendy to get the best value out of it....While it works nicely with radiate, it doesn't untap the creatures, so it's not exactly an insurrection. Heartbeat adds a little more chaos and allows me to make bigger plays earlier, as i'm noticing how little early game I have at the moment. If this continues to be a problem I may switch out mana reflection for mana flare, but that's to be determined.
Ok...some problems I'm having with the deck at the moment and could use some opinions on:
1) Guided Passage will always net me Tyrant of Discord which is only useful with Deadeye Navigator...and while it's AMAZING with Deadeye....it's a lame duck 95% of the time and the most difficult card to hardcast in the deck.
2) Whirlpool Warrior is more of a liability than an asset. It backfires on me too frequently to justify the slot....I think I can substitute it for Sphinx of Uthuun to give some more raw power to the deck or maybe Djinn of Wishes which seems more thematic with my general?
3) I keep finding myself wanting Avenger of Zendikar in here more and more...because he is a blinkable token maker, and doesn't need Deadeye to be effective. However, I'm reluctant to include AoZ because it seems like it will become the go-to wincon of the deck.
4) I feel that there are too many Enchantment/Artifact permanents...I'm thinking about dropping Holistic Wisdom but I would also really like to put Opposition back in....
5) I could stand to include another land...but cuts are getting harder to make.
New decklist posted. Here are two issues/ideas that I'm sorting through:
1) Replacing all straightforward land tutors. Efficient tutors don't really resonate with the theme of the deck. Changes include:
-Replacing the fetchlands with the new scry lands.
-Replacing ramp spells like Farseek and Nature's Lore with some other version of land ramp that is more variable. Maybe more Wheel effects and cards like Exploration?
2) Slimming the curve a little bit. There is a glut of 4 drops, and maybe too many 6+ drops.
I wouldn't cut the fetches. If you want the scrylands, I'd cut the checklands. And what about something like Urban Evolution? It's a little high in the cmc, but it's a land drop and a draw spell in one.
Far Wanderings has a certain undeterminable quality to it that may make it considerable too. Cryogen, how has Rites of Flourishing been in your deck? I really don't like the hugginess of it, and that your opponents benefit from it first. Maybe Mana Flare?

I'd like to throw in my support for that card; I run it in a Damia hug/slug deck and it is amazing. What's awesome about it is that it pulls out any land, not just basics. And on top of that, they come out untapped. If your typical game is with 4+ people, then I cannot recommend the card strongly enough. It is oodles of fun, creates interesting scenarios where group politics come into play. I once had my entire table surprise the hell out of me by all of them declining to accept the "tempting offer."

My 360 Peasant+ Cube!. Modern borders where possible, usually with the newest (or "best") art, and always the most readable card text. I also run all 10 painlands. My playgroup is super casual, as we have a fair number of newer or less experienced players. Typically we draft with 4 to 6 people, using 5 packs of 9.

I think I'll ultimately bump voidslime for cryptic command, and try to get my hands on a reflecting pool to support my color commitments.

On this note, I've considered dropping the Deadeye suite in favor of token spawning package of Verdant Force, Dragon Broodmother, Furystoke Giant, Wort, the Raidmother, and Eternal Witness....that would solidify the gameplan and identity of the deck...although it's a little less interesting to me.

I could do something like:
-Farseek, +Exploration
-Nature's Lore, +Windfall
and then maybe:
-Boundless Realms, +Urban Evolution
Far Wanderings has a certain undeterminable quality to it that may make it considerable too. Cryogen, how has Rites of Flourishing been in your deck? I really don't like the hugginess of it, and that your opponents benefit from it first. Maybe Mana Flare?
Also, I meant to make this change before posting the new list:
-Snakeform, +Stitch in Time
It's a hit or miss card for me. I rarely cast it, and prefer to just hit it off a cascade.
