Have this as a work in progress. Would love to get some opinions on it and ideas for cards I am missing that would help speed it up.
The idea is that Toshiro and all of the creature nukes can pretty much hold off threats while the mana base is built up to support the expensive creatures. The creatures were obviously chosen to get the best of all the death around it.
Candles of Leng - Need some drawing power. Looking for cheaper options. 4 colorless for a draw seems kind bad. Soul Conduit - Thinking of adding Necropotence and possibly Hatred to the list. This will give Soul Conduit a huge purpose. Worried about the speed however. Soulless Revival - Not many creatures, so being able to reuse them is key. Bridge from Below - Seems great with Leyline of the Void, and a backup if something happens to Helm of Obedience, however it has to great to the GY, and thats what I am not sure about. Umbra Stalker - With the instants being often exiled. I am not sure if this would get much play. Quest for the Gravelord - Easy to activate, but is it worth it? Reiver Demon - Too expensive, possibly redundant.
Like Cremate for the cantrip, False Cure as a nice surprise. Trying to stay on the cheaper end, but the dual nature of Shriveling Rot is also nice. Don't have the funds to get a Word of Command, especially for this deck before its really gone through its paces.
Had an amazing come back with Toshiro. Playing against Sheoldred, Whispering One and Kaalia of the Vast with a suboptimal decklist, came back from 4 life. I was getting smacked on hard by the Kaalia player while Sheoldred was building up a board state. Sheoldred dropped a Phyrexian Obliterator and diverted all of the attention away from me. Dropped a Sorin, put Kaalia at 10, forcing them to go all in against Sheoldred. Next turn pulled off an Exsanguinate for 5 to swing me into the lead. I eventually was able to start wiping the Sheoldred field with forced sacrifice instants and eventually killed them off with Sorins plus ability.
The decklist above was running slightly more expensive creature kills since I still needed to order some of the goods above. Will update the list when the new goods come, there will be some changes.
The deck even performed well in a 1 vs 1 a very tuned Captain Sisay that is tuned for French meta play. Both times Sorin made a huge difference, 6 mana for 20 life is amazing.

Updated again, had a great game, was stopping combo players from going off, all until someone dropped a bog and exiled my GY ... Now normally this is smart, but I lost the Cremate, which was preventing someone else from going off. The game was basically handed to the other player =/ Thank you Inscho for recommending it, it has stopped many people from going off with graveyard combo shenanigans, and the draw has not been too shabby either. It held off Mikaeus reanimation attempts, a Melira - Primus attempt, even after Primus was brought back with a Riftsweeper and tutored back up.
Made 2 changes, replaced Fatal Blow and Ghastly Demise. Ghastly was too restrictive and potentially a dead card, all to save 1 mana. Fatal Blow was just too situational, I rather hit a target without having to wait until it takes damage, especially since I have no way to do such damage typically. In went Snuff Out and Tainted Pact. 4 life for a kill that I can throw out even if tapped out and Toshiro is about to get removed. Tainted Pact is just an all star, it steals games, and thins out the competition, especially early when people are willing to take large hits. Even better it can be a single opportunity damage mitigator.
Also looking to add Null Profusion to resolve any draw issues.
Had two great games with Toshiro Umezawa from a learning perspective.
The first game was against a Sen Triplets player and 2 others. The Triplets took my hand after I resolved Null Profusion, leaving me with no hand and no draw. Now I was kind of annoyed by this game because people were misplaying a bunch, attacking me instead of anyone that was developing a serious board, etc. I could have came back from the Triplets issue thanks to cantrip cards in the graveyard (Cremate) and playing my general allows a draw, but instead I scooped after nuking from the GY pretty much everything that player had, and so we can start a new game faster. The game did of course end pretty quickly after that as the person building board position the whole time finally ran over everyone. So Null Profusion is a tricky card, but I think I am going to keep it in for another week since I think I can play around it, I just may add another cantrip instant as a just in case if I can find one, or add another means of draw. May also make this into a primer if I have the time since something like Null Profusion should carry a warning to people trying out this deck.
Game 2, this game dragged on for hours, board wipe after board wipe, etc. Toshiro held his own for quite some time, only reacting to people killing off my stuff with equal levels of death. I was able to get Cabal Coffers and Deserted Temple out on the field at once and was casting Toshiro as high as 13 before the game ended. Some cards stood out as all stars:
Scion of Darkness allowed me to steal an Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, which after going down to 2 life, I was able to claw back up to 16. Echoing Decay which wiped out a Zombie Apocalypse and cleared a whole board when paired with Elesh Norn. Tsabo's Decree, which helped me get around a lightning Greaves Kaalia, and the follow up attack with Hatred which sent me all the way down to 2 and knocked Kaalia out the game.
Even after having my GY shuffled back in, the speed afforded by Null Profusion allowed me to fill it right back up and keep plowing ahead with board control. Right now the creature suite is for making use of everything I am killing, but I think I am going to look into just harder to kill creatures (shroud/hexproof), or faster attacking creatures (haste) instead. I need to get more damage in when the coast is clear and often waiting a turn to attack isn't working out. I didn't win this game, I ended up scooping because the person I had a huge trade scheduled with was leaving. I had a bad attack which I maintain the opponent was "hiding" lands, they had a Kor Haven tucked away under a stack of basics, which is contrary to me who keeps his special lands separated, especially since the tables we play at are large and rectangular and hard to see all the way across.
Synopsis, everything played well and I am happy where everything is. I am also loving the randomness of Null Profusion. Considering adding a Necrotic Ooze to still get off those great abilities if I don't swap the creature package.
Changes:
+ Echoing Decay
- Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni
Minor Update:
Stumbled on Bargaining Table and considering swapping that for Memory Jar. Bargaining is repeatable and if its cast, I will typically be sitting on at least 5 lands, meaning I can typically sink 3 mana into a draw and still have 2 mana to play with safely for casting.
The bonus with Memory Jar is that it gets some of my opponents cards into the GY, which can work against me, or work well. It also helps me toss some instants for use later, making my hand loss possibly not as bad.
Might alternate it in games this coming Monday for testing.
Second Round Changes:
-Snow-Covered Swamp
-Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet
-Grim Harvest
-Midnight Banshee
+Shallow Grave
+Temple of the False God
+Sangromancer
+Entomb

I'd definitely run hatred.....maybe consider these as well:
Wouldn't Necropotence be better then Necrologia or Moonlight Bargain?
Shriveling Rot, Cremate, False Cure, what to remove is the question for these?
Nice recommendations.
