MTG Salvation

There are alot of these precon Generals up right now, so I'm sorry. Since you can no longer edit your posts in Testing Grounds, I have to put this somewhere while I work on it.
I think my build is pretty soild. Its meant to not have any infinite combos in it btw.

So I've been playtesting this for a bit now. I still want to add a Frantic Search and Plated Slagwurm.

Gaea's Revenge is the surprise all-star killer of the deck. Built-in haste and shroud are key. Its even better if any of the 3 incarnations are in the graveyard.

If you're running the Mime, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon or even Putrefax has to go in. The kills are almost too easy.

Living Wish may get swapped for Mystical Tutor. I kinda like having a wishboard and getting back targets the Mime ate is nice. But I haven't come across a time I was really glad to have it in hand.

I found I'd much rather mill myself over my opponents since I usually have better creature quality. Hermit Druid and Tunnel Vision are amazing.

Tunnel Vision into Living Death is even more amazing.

ok, I have to say your list is actually very close to the mark already as is.

A few things I would touch on quickly though:

Spiritmonger generally a beater with no evasion isnt so great in EDH. I love this guy to pieces as I used to play standard when he was arround but man he just doesnt scale well into the environment. I have tried to make him work in the past and sadly he just doesnt do so well.

Living Wish I guess this one is a meta call but does your meta allow you to search through everything you own or do they make you set up a sideboard to searth through??? What do you usually target with this?? Remember that you cannot target exiled cards with it otherwise I think it would be great.

You have almost no ramp in the deck I notice. I think you might want to consider running Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, and Primeval Titan. All 3 of them are incredibly powerful tools of green that I think you could take advantage of.

Also, Filth is extremely situational from my experience. If you see black decks everywhere or Urborg in play every game then it is ok. Shy of that though I havent ever found it to be all that important. It could be a possible cut.

Yeah, I know Spiritmonger is the weakest link. I just have a soft spot for him from back in the day. The hexproof Plated Slagwurm will replace him once I pick one up.


I completely forgot about that exile clause with Living Wish. Damn, its coming out. I just completed my wishboard in the previous post too...

If you really wanted that wish you could try a similar card Riftsweeper. It doesn't bring it to hand but it brings back to your deck where you could potentially tutor it back up. I know it isnt nearly as good but it could be looked at if you wanted that sort of card.

Thran Dynamo has always been sort of a big target in my own meta. Mine usually gets blown up so if I am using green I usually try to use some ramp instead. The 3 suggestions I made before could be looked at for its spot or you could try Skyshroud Claim as well which is cool as it costs 4 but gets you 2 lands into play untapped so only costs you 2 mana for the turn and can be used to fetch up dual land.

If you want to be cool, you could drop

I'm not the biggest green player so finding out about Skyshroud Claim is awesome. Sure I'll pay 2 for a Trop and Bayou!

That is a lot to add to the deck though... and it completely relies on the druid. Without him in play most of that stuff sucks for the deck. Also it is sort of an all in sort of deal as if someone counters the rez you are dead.

The new changes sound decent. I would still like to see Primeval Titan hit your list. He is a total house and a great target to copy / rez as your commander. Entire games of commander are fought over the power of a Primeval Titan. Remember that he goes and gets you any 2 land including nonbasic when he hits play or attacks.

Umm, raygun... thats a completely different deck than this.

ISB, unfortunatly I don't have a Primeval and since its a standard staple and $25, I'm not getting one soon. I'm sure I'll add him once M12 comes and the titans all have a price drop (stupid expensive and awesome new cards I don't have).

Wrexial or maybe Jens will be replaced by the Titan.

I'm still a bit worried about grave-hate too. I'd like to squeeze Bind and/or Trickbind in here to compliment Stifle.

I went through the physical deck adding frantic search, the slagwurm and skyshroud claim and noticed I had a Regrowth in there.

I mis-counted my lands and its actually at 36. It's been working fine so I think I'll leave it and I have a spot for one of these cards:

Regrowth - It can be tutored for if I dropped something awesome in the yard. I put a lot of cards in the yard each game.
It was nice playing Inuition / Regrowth / Intuition the other night.

Liliana - I'd like to have this over Regrowth since I can use her over and over again. She just costs so much in already mana hungry deck. Another Living Death as her final ability is great.

Garruk - I love this guy in my Savra deck. He would be even bette rhere since he untaps 3 different colors. The trample final ability could be good to get my Mime through for a kill sometimes.

Personally I would go with Liliana out of the 3 and here are my reasons:

Regrowth: You arent running a heavy dredge build in which I might agree that you would want to have this card for. In your current build the only woops I dropped it card I can really see is Hermit Druid. You also have Memory Jar in the list which could drop something but usually it is used when you are untapped and plan on dropping several cards into play and thus it shouldn't be a problem. Also you are running a graveyard reliant deck already as is. If someone strips your graveyard you will already be hurting and so I hate to add something like this which also has high reliance on your own graveyard.

Garruk planeswalkers are super hard to defend in EDH. One that untaps lands and spits out chumps is going to be hard to defend in this deck. I understand you like him in your Savra deck but usually that sort of deck has tons of small guys that it plans to sacrifice after blocks to destroy its opponents creatures. This deck has a lot less chump blocking ability and less ways to control opponents creatures in your build. I just dont see him sticking arround long enough to do much.

Liliana honestly I think she is much better in a list with at least some dredge but you are running very low tutor numbers. You only have 2 black tutors so I think adding a 3rd would help your consistancy. Personally I think I would be more for Vampiric Tutor but if Liliana is the option then I suppose thats the way I would go with it.

I would say narrow the

Vess added but now theres a nice new Jace with a free draw or mill every turn. He's perfect for this deck but is hype-priced right now.

I realized I haven't update this deck in a long time.

Here are the changes I've made from having more experience with the deck and additions from new sets.

I found I always go for the Krosan Cloudscraper / Gaea's Revenge/ Wonder instant kill.
So I took out some the less exciting Mimeo targets.

I then found I needed to be able to discard those 3 creatues more often. I added the blue sift cards.

Since I was now pretty much a combo deck I added 6 new tutors.

I then realized I had small CC search spells and giant CC bomby stuff. I added some lower CC utility creatues to give me something to do if I haven't Mimeo-comboed mid-game.
