One important thing though. Now that you added white might as well use it. Angels grace also stops bolting you in response to your first spell after ad Naseum. It's not just there to make a Naseum better though as it can save you from combo kills, and are you running chrome mox?
Also, you seem to have forgotten necropotence. Land rit drop it drop everything you can in hand and draw eot to 7. Seems good.
honestly i find it too slow, does nothing in early turns and the triple black is hard to pull off reliably for turn 3. Iv lost some games with 9 mana available, Ad nauseam in hand, but no 2nd black mana source to cast it. Was a really lame game haha

when playing vs a red deck (or colour) the ez solution is just simply to stay out of bolt range when casting Ad Nauseam. (And in a competitive format red burns are kinda a dead thing)
To put 5 cards on top for what? id have to add more cards that would cripple me with Ad Nauseam theme kill i got going on right now. Different type of deck and honestly i find that this is more stable and quicker kill right now. Doomsday deck is better for a french EDH format that does not allow for the many tutors and ramp i have available in regular EDH Banlist.
What about Children of Korlis?
Maybe sometimes redundant but may come in handy when you need to play Ad Nauseam with low remaining life. Also the reset of life post Ad Nauseam should suffice to draw the whole deck after a Yawgmoths Will (if desired).
The problem I have with this card is that its strictly just a worse angels grace. if I understand the card correctly it doesbt even let me draw my whole library, only reset to whatever I was post ad nauseam. As mentioned in previous post drawing more cards off ad nauseam does nothing more for us other then "win more" which is unnecessary.
Hm... From testing this deck is pretty bad against decks with heavy disruption and either discard or lots of hatebears (Zur, Deveri). It's about 50/50 against Hermit Druid, since we're slightly faster but they're more resilient to disruption. It is pretty good against Edric and pwns random decks, but I'm not sure it can be viable in a heavy Zur environment. I'm still trying to determine if Swords to Plowshares or Pithing Needle is worth it against a field that is 25% Zur. Have you been testing this deck? Any new observations?
EDIT: So, you cut Portent for Dispel? I've always felt like more dig would help the deck alot, and that we often get clogged with reactionary cards.
As for Jeweled Amulet and Expedition Map, I've honestly never thought about it. It seems to be rather slow, though in matchups where Boseiju is important, speed is a moot point due to disruption...

Every deck has some kind of weakness and you are absolutely right, this decks weakness is discard. Vs any kind of black deck i will never keep an opening hand with Ad Nauseam in it. While building this deck the intent was to go head to head vs Zur, due to the discard its almost impossible i would say the match is 45/55. Deveri only has counter available therefore we can easily play around it with our many disruptions. Also, they key to Deveri match up is to remember that Ad Nauseam is an instant, when he goes to cast general to tap mana source just cast ad nasueam in resp. I had an opponent cast tangle wire thinking to lock me out, in resp to tangle wire trigger tap lands/mana cast ad nauseam, draw cards, win game. Edric is cute but nothing else. Iv also played vs so many different mono blue deck and straight up counter is laughable, we have too many cheap efficient ways around it.
I'm still trying to determine if Swords to Plowshares or Pithing Needle is worth it against a field that is 25% Zur. Have you been testing this deck? Any new observations?
Currently i dont play either. altho recently im thinknig of adding the card. some problem creatures of note are thali, Gadoc teeg, meddling mage, grand arbiter. these are thing we need to answer. Pithing needle in my mind is too slow and does nothing for us.
As for Jeweled Amulet and Expedition Map, I've honestly never thought about it. It seems to be rather slow, though in matchups where Boseiju is important, speed is a moot point due to disruption...
Iv never been satisfied with jeweled amulet. the card is really bad imo after playing with it alot. Getting any land (99% boseiju) imo is more reliable. Good vs vendilion clique matchup.
here are cards im looking to replace for some kind of draw spells. as you mentioned we have too many reactionary cards and sometimes stall.
I'm not sure, maybe it was bad hands or something, but I lost a lot to Deveri going counter on draw spell/tutor into Meddling Mage/GAAIV/Aven Mindcensor into gg.
Every deck has some kind of weakness and you are absolutely right, this decks weakness is discard. Edric is cute but nothing else. Iv also played vs so many different mono blue deck and straight up counter is laughable, we have too many cheap efficient ways around it.
Yes, stuff like Azami and Arcum are very easy matchups. As for discard decks, I think that most of them are fine. It's the ones that have discard and permission and can apply pressure that are difficult. In otherwords, Zur and (haven't seen it in a long time) Wydwen.
Needle is for Necropotence/Survival/Hermit. It's a compromise between Crypt and Swords, though after thinking some more it seems pretty bad.
Of the cards to cut, I would keep Silence and Spell Pierce for sure. I think I would replace either Crypt or Dispel with Portent, depending on whether Hermit Druid/other graveyard decks exist in the meta or not. As for StP, maybe cut the other card? I'm still unsure if Swords is necessary.
I'd keep Silence because it can both protect against counter-heavy decks and stall against discard-based decks. I'd keep Spell Pierce because it can stop stuff like Rule of Law as well as Discard.
Also, what about Flusterstorm? Better than Dispel vs Mirror and other discard-based decks, but marginally worse against grindy matchups.
Right now the problem is very few people want to actually play against this deck, so my testing has been rather limited...
Edit: added a Pure Control deck with oloro as commander that i have been playing recently as a change of pace. Deck list can be found here or on front page.

Darn, that deck reminds me of durdling around with Esper Control with pristine talisman in Scars-Innistrad Standard. So, the only win cons are three planeswalkers? Looks like fun.
No Zur's Weirding, Embargo, though? Also, why Dark Tutelage over Necropotence or Phyrexian Arena? What's all the ramp for?
I'm not sure, maybe it was bad hands or something, but I lost a lot to Deveri going counter on draw spell/tutor into Meddling Mage/GAAIV/Aven Mindcensor into gg.
Could be the hand, it can for sure be a hard matchup speed is definitly an asset here

agreed on the discard+ permission. altho, iv never lost to a wydwen deck yet.

Spell pierce keep for sure, totally forgot about rule of law, Silence im not too sure. do we honestly need two silence effects? sux when we get both and i would prefer orims chant (remember we can tutor for it if needed) Crypt has been a dead card recently in my meta, people have moved away from Hermit druid. this is a cut i feel will depend on the meta like you said. STPS i feel is needed for Derivi matchups just to kills annoying creatures.
Also, what about Flusterstorm? Better than Dispel vs Mirror and other discard-based decks, but marginally worse against grindy matchups.
What mirrior? lol iv built this from ground up and have yet to see anyone play anything close to this other then doomsday. Also, the card it a joke, only good for countering pre-Ad nauseam if i chain mana spells. will never be able to stop me from countering tendrils because i always get a discard spell before casting finisher.

No Zur's Weirding, Embargo, though? Also, why Dark Tutelage over Necropotence or Phyrexian Arena? What's all the ramp for?
Embargo bad, Zur weirding can be okay but honestly dont want to run it. i play dark tutelage over Necro and Pyyrexian because its easier to cast (can turn 1-2 cast it) Necro is honestly not good in this deck imo. could play Phyrexian Arena but i have enough draw in here. what do i do with mana? i draw a **** load of cards!! Well of Lost Dreams is the decks engine, with enough mana i can always copy it and draw 5 cards a turn. My main win condition honestly is my opponent conceding. if hes stubborn and doesnt want too ill beat face with general or swing for 40 with 5/5 artifacts via Tezz. thats pretty much it
Made some changes to front page and added a Match Log of recent games over the last few days iv played on Cockatrice. Will continue to add games and also write a description of them soon.
Phew, match descriptions are now up, will continue to document matches as they happen. Also, anyone interested in playing on cockatrice feel free to send me a msg.
How does this deck perform againts bant decks ?
My meta is filled with Derevis and a very well piloted Rafiq of the Many.
I've used all kind of reanimator decks (merieke, dralnu, a few mono black ones), Vendilion Clique, Azami and I still get crushed. I'm no pro but I didn't start playing recently either.
So, what is your advice vs bant, or at least, green/blue decks ?

This can definitely be a tough matchup, if you check my match logs you will find my history and a little description but ill post it here:
Derevi, Empyrial Tactician 5-2
This can be a difficult match-up depending on deck style. Their draws can be almost as explosive as ours and the cards they have can be annoying. Speed is the name of the game here and try not to rely too much on artifacts, other then that the only disruption they have is counter. (we laugh at tangle wire or general coming into play to tap mana source)
Depending on the type of deck this can be really hard, notable creatures/spells that they have that annoy and affect us are Aven Mindcensor, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Gaddock Teeg, Meddling Mage, Hokori, Dust Drinker and Nevermore. However, we do have cheap ways to remove/bounce these. The longer the game goes the worse off we are. Same applies to Rafic altho i find him easier to deal with.
Keep in mind i still won a game where all my mana sources cept one were tapped because of winter orb lock. We like mana but we are versatile and resilient!!
I'm with you on most of the changes, except for Silence, which I think should be in here 100%, and is arguably better than Chant, and Voltaic Key, which I'm not sure actually does anything 50% of the time.
Also, why not play Ancient Tomb? Is it just because of the life loss?
I'm with you on most of the changes, except for Silence, which I think should be in here 100%, and is arguably better than Chant, and Voltaic Key, which I'm not sure actually does anything 50% of the time.
Also, why not play Ancient Tomb? Is it just because of the life loss?
so far I have really liked voltaic key. Sometimes I have all the colorless mana in the world with no coloured. This lets me untap something for more color or just more colourless. As for ancient tomb same reason really, i have always found that i need the black/other mana more then the colorless. Can't turn two adnauseam without two black mana.
Ya with a format running both Strip Mine and Wasteland running Lake of the damned is too risky. Iv never actually tried it but i know its not worth the potential ramp.
Reconsider. If you lose your lands, who cares? Lake of The Dead is pretty great; it doesn't enter tapped or anything so you save it until right before you need it, tap your swamps, play it and sac one and then tap Lake and sac the other swamp. That's 6 mana on turn 3 without any rocks.
I mean, it's not like there's a turn after that, so why care about LD?
Your list was helpful in changing my Sygg into Oloro. I still like Skirge Familiar because it's basically another ritual effect in context. There's been one matchup so far where I didn't get any rituals off of Ad Nauseam besides it; I'm running a few more two drops and my curve is 1.26 (mentioned this to ya) or .81 with lands with Familiar. Skirge Familiar doesn't change that in any significant way, so I figure it's pretty harmless and might just be helpful.
I would argue Hurkyl's Recall is pretty much worse than Retract. You're not concerned about your opponent's artifacts. The one mana probably isn't important, but I'd guess it's more likely to be than Recall is to be useful besides bouncing your stuff. Maybe if you keep running in to Grand Arbiter or something a lot,
I really like the Baubles and the draw spells. The Baubles can be up to 3 spells each with your artifact bounce + Yawgmoth's Will.
CT: I was just thinking of you again, so I popped in to say "Hey!"
Thats all
Haha wassup man, how ya been? Honestly havent been playing alot of cards lately due to school and stuff. Hopefully will find more free time for some games over the summer

Ya again the angels grace would still leave me at one life leaving me unable to combo out with ad Nauseam anyway so the card is useless.
As for Oloro, hes awesome. best non casted general in good colours with a relevent ability in the commander zone.
