This deck is the nuts... I'm going to make a banner for it
I rarely, if ever, need a board wipe by turn 2. Even against Krenko. This can wipe higher toughness creatures and still be useful against noncreature based decks as a 6 damage burn spell or mini Vandalblast. Or some combination of the 3.
The only time I can see it being an issue is when the opponent can protect their creatures/selves/artifacts with counter magic like in the Geist of Saint Traft deck. Given my current record against Geist, I'm willing to take that risk. If you threaten counter magic in the first few turns, you can easily get to the point where you have enough mana to play around counter magic.
That's just my personal tech as our local EDH league is using the other banned list despite being a 1v1 league. Literally the only things on the duel commander banned list that I'm using are Sol Ring and Mana Crypt. You can replace them with 2 more spells/creatures. Some good options
Pyroclasm isn't even good. Rolling Earthquake does the same thing at the 2 mana, since Pyro is only really used to kill mana dorks with 1 toughness. Not to mention that Earthquake scales and also hits planeswalkers.
I will cut Anger of the Gods or Rolling Earthquake for Confluence. It's the new all star U/R/x and will particularly be a nightmare for Daretti. Kill their problem artifact and shoot Daretti for 4? Seems legit.
That's a fair point actually. I think my losses to Anafenza, mana dorks may have contributed to it. On the other hand though, after the first 2 losses I did make a few changes to the deck including MD Blood Moon and haven't lost a game to it since.
But going by that logic, I'd probably replace Sol Ring and Mana Crypt with Personal Tutor and one of the other cards I previously mentioned. The tutor can be used to get any number of various board wipes. Or cards like Order of Succession, Bribery, or Ruination.
And I'd still replace Pyroclasm or Slagstorm with Fiery Confluence.
Pyroclasm isn't even good. Rolling Earthquake does the same thing at the 2 mana, since Pyro is only really used to kill mana dorks with 1 toughness. Not to mention that Earthquake scales and also hits planeswalkers.

I had temporarily swapped Kher Keep for Tabernacle (proxy, we're allowed 10) for the remainder of the league (lists could change until the top 8). I'm currently in the top 4. The others are The Mimeoplasm (my next opponent), Geist of Saint Traft, and Animar, Soul of Elements.
The Mimeoplasm just scooped the moment I played Jokulhaups in game 1 and Ruination in game 2.
Went 2nd place in the league losing to Geist of Saint Traft. Unfortunately I got mana hosed and only drew a total of about 12 lands between both games. I've upped my land count to 40 because with Keranos' ability it just means more chances at more cards and more mana after a land wipe.
I've learned that hard control is the deck's primary weakness as I've also lost to Vendilion Clique and came close to losing to Azami. For that reason, I've added Expedition Map and Tolaria West to find Cavern of Souls. Hopefully my new updates and sideboard should fix some of the issues. Depending on how the updates to the mana base works out, I may add other utility lands to fetch. But for now I'm leaving out the Maze of Ith and Kher Keep and confining them to the drawing board.
One card I found that I really like is Forcefield. It makes big threats less threatening even if they have shroud or hexproof because it doesn't target. I've included it on a trial run for now as I'm not sure how necessary it is. It would certainly be nice against decks like Surrak Dragonclaw. The player who was playing him recently switched to Animar, but he went to 2nd place with Surrak last semester. If it doesn't work out, I'll probably just trade it out for another counter spell.
I've also updated the list to remove the french list banned cards as it is confirmed we'll be using that list for next semester.
Obliterate, Jokulhaups, and Order of Succession are the only way to deal with TNN I believe. As a Jace VP player I actually find the rock version much scarier than the draw-go version of the Keranos, because a t3 Parallax Tide or Jace, the Mind Sculptor means I cannot tap out for Jace VP on my turn 2, or I simply lose. I've always been a fan of tap out Keranos because it's much more explosive, although at the same time it is much riskier. Also there is no way for a Jace player to play around Obliterate short of stalling the Keranos player from getting 8 mana, or bouncing Keranos in response. So, playing against Jace I guess you just go for the Obliterate plan or the early 4 drop plan.
Against black Sidisi, bounce spells and Stifle (great with Parallax Tide) effects are really good at countering the exploit trigger. Also if you can get Keranos out by turn 3 or 4 you shouldn't really have any problems with playing the attrition game, and keeping off Buried Alive.
As far Gitrog goes, my experience from playing Jace against it tells me that you have to drop planeswalkers and steal the frog. Funny how the Gitrog players always tutor Cavern of Souls first, and then we drop Treachery or Vedalken Shackles...
Thanks spastika. Nice to have a sight on this deck and now I can see my building problems.
Nice one Jenrik.
But it's with your list we can see the difference between the Dual Commander and Commander with the Multi banlist. Your curve is way to heavy for dual commander. Even without this heavy curve, your land count is already to low (I'm playing 38 land + 10 rocks and I'm thinking to add one or two lands).
Your manarocks are acceleration for your most expensive spells only.
I played a version of Keranos I will post later n 1v1 and adjusted and played the similar build in multiplayer and I must say... Keranos is OP. Love him. Thassa will always be my favorite though. She's in the deck too of course. In all my decks, actually.
1) I play Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. I've never been unhappy with him other than when he dies before his first activation.
2) I like Wandering Fumarole.
3) Research their combos and keep them off of Gitrog and Crucible of Worlds the best you can. When I lost to it, I couldn't counter Gitrog because of Cavern of Souls. Gitrog gets out of hand really quickly and is fairly difficult to defeat when he's in play. The card advantage is insane. However, I win far more often when I can keep them off of Gitrog.
That's what I like about taking control of my opponent's threats. One card I did forget to mention in my list is Bribery. I've also noticed that Corrupted Conscience gets the job done quicker, so even if they have answers in the deck, they would need to deal with it quickly through all the counter magic and land destruction. Also I play Wurmcoil Engine as just an additional efficient and resilient beater to aid in ending the game more quickly. Another is Ugin, the Spirit Dragon which can help keep the board clear and speed up the clock.
@Kriggy You're running Personal Tutor, so I see no reason to run both Wildfire and Xinye now. Maybe you could try Chandra, Flamecaller instead of Wildfire? That card is basically a mini Wildfire with a clock on its own.
Also 41 lands is too little for a drawgo deck that curves out at around 6, especially since you run only 1 mana rock and only half of the 1 mana cantrips (there is Opt and Sleight also). You need at least 2 more lands I think. Cut Brainstorm for land, cut Peek for a land?
Kriggy, I have done quite well with true-name nemesis. Halts early aggro on defence, lets you get a few points of damage in if you have your opponent at bay pre-mass-destruction and if dropped afterwards, triples the speed of your clock.
