curious about everyone's feelings on Pact of Negation. Is this a decent card in DC? If so, what decks does it work in?
It's hard for me to evaluate. On the one hand, it's great to be able to tap out with counter backup. On the other, having to spend 5 on your next turn, especially now with the 20-life change, seems really painful.
It this just a safety valve for combo decks, or does it have a place elsewhere?

Playing with proxied cards at sanctioned events is good, actually.
It fits best in decks which combo for a win in one turn obviously, but its not unheard of for just as a general counter, paying the 5 in next upkeep.
I guess you could say the card shines in fast mana decks as well, so with green, it usually works best. There is a safety feeling, with having extra mana creatures, etc, in green, where you can pay for the pact and still go about your turn with casting spells potentially.
Spending a turn paying for the pact happens quite often, but if you are using it as a real last ditch protection of a good board state for example, then spending a turn "off", is negated by the fact that you are not having to rebuild.

Blue lives don't matter in the slightest.
