Anyone played Blueless Tempo decks recently?
Playing Bruse-Reyhan without the Moxen did hurt. I will admit I just finished building the deck and most likely didn' fetch and play optimally.
Here's my list: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/bruse-reyhan-1/
Went:
1-2 vs Gaddock Teeg, only drew two creatures in game 3.
1-2 vs Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. Lost to Anthem effects and fliers + Armageddon. 2-0 vs Zurgo
2-1 vs Zurgo
1-2 vs Tymna/Bruse
Maybe I need to lower my curve and play more removal?
Also, hypothetically, do you think these decks (Saskia, Bruse+Reyhan or Akiri+Reyhan) will stand a chance in 30lp if it's closer to Leviathan Banlist than DC Banlist?
Interesting that zurgo seems to be helpless against this deck. In my testing my zurgo deck has a positive matchup against the saskia I test with. All things constant and we assume that all lists are optimized, a better zurgo matchup is definitely a selling point to go bruhan over saskia.
In my experience, if they have Skullcrack or Flames of the Blood Hand when I hit with double-strike+lifeling, they have a chance to win. If they don't, I win.
It turns out it's hard to consistently have either of 2 specific cards and still keep your full pressure against a deck that's got a clock only one turn slower than your own.
That's the thing, letting bruse live to give someone doublestrike + lifelink is obviously suicide from zurgo's POV. As long as there's always bolt saved for bruse I think the matchup evens out in zurgo's favor. But that's purely theoretical and mostly based on my matches with saskia and doran. I'm playing a bit more burn than the average zurgo so that might be a factor in the matchup. But overall I think having 2 commanders beats out what saskia brings to the table.
Doesn't Bruse's trigger go to the stack before giving priority? I don't think I've attacked with him while the opponent held any hopes of recovering, but I'm sure nobody has tried to bolt him to prevent his ETB trigger from resolving.
I forgot bruse has an ETB trigger as well. that's tough. that involves saving a bolt on bruse and another burn on his target. Still consistently doable depending on the zurgo list IMO, but problematic if the turn 3 creature was a siege rhino lol
Rhino, Anafenza, Thoctar, Smiter, Saskia, Aristocrat and even Courser. Not to mention Jitte, Mom and Deathrite.
This deck runs a lot of things I don't like to see when playing Burn/Sligh.
I Lost today to Hapatra, Baral and Selvala, beat Geist and Zurgo.
Don't know if I'm upset that I lost to funstuff or actually happy that we now have a non-invulnerable "Tier 1" since Kytheon was the only 5-0.
Any recent news on Saskia? I just finished building Bruse//Reyhan as my first DC deck right before the ban announcement, interested in switching to Saskia. Are the lists substantially different? What are the major play differences?
The big play difference is that Bruse+Reyhan let you be less self-concious about your commander dying. And that Bruse would often be a massive life gain spell, Saskia has to be more agressive.
So our local shop finally started to organize DC.
I got a Saskia deck, played few games and beat most of the decks, but I have serious problems with controls.
You have any suggestions or cards how to deal with U/x decks which have hexproof general and are full of counterspells, return to hand, exile and destroy?
Best options Gaddock Teeg: Creates a lot of disruption to some of their counterspells and big finishers. Your opponent often needs to focus resources to keeping it off the battlefield; good find off of Green Sun Zenith Voice of Resurgence: Similiar to Teeg that if you don't quickly deal with it, you feed to much board advantage over to you; good find off of Green Sun Zenith Knight of the Reliquary: Probably one of the best T2 plays if you have an elf out. I like the snipe non-basic with a Wasteland -> Immediately follow up with a Cavern next turn Thalia, Guardian of Thraben: A mostly one sided card that adds pressure to countering every threat you put out Council's Judgment: Way to get around Hexproof creatures, great removal regardless
Other options Prowling Serpopard: Solid stick, with Uncouterable abilities Selfless Spirit: Good evasion 2 drop that can protect a board or a creature in a pinch. Can also create unfavorable blocking decisions for your opponent

Got everything except for Thalia and Judgment. Those I should definitely include.
I'm still not sure though how to deal with flying hexproof general...
Interesting Saskia development around here is a friend threw it into his Najela list, and it just acts as an extra finisher basically. If you don't deal with Sas immediately you just die.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Both Ravnicas added some nice new cards to the deck. Here's cards I added to my decklist:
Assassin's Trophy - Great removal. Giving your opp untapped land is terrible but it can win games. One of 3 answers to Maze of Ith in my deck (cut: Abrade) Knight of Autumn - Autoinclude due to its versatility (cut: Knight of the Reliquary) Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice - Surprisingly a good finisher. Gives Saskia boost and traple and it's solid beater itself. Always good topdeck (cut: Elspeth, Knight-Errant) Gruul Spellbreaker – Pure power and impossible to remove in combat. Trample also very relevant (cut: Flinthoof Boar) Collision // Colossus - Yet another Ghor-Clan Rampager that can kill random Kess or Kraum (cut: Berserk)
