I suppose it's good against the most represented deck/s there, but in any sort of Wrath/Slagstorm matchup, it must just get wrecked. Although, I have never played against the deck before, and as such I'm unsure as to how the deck plays.

W're still waiting for the complete Top 8 decklists.
Yep, we have a 'core' group of players who play duel commander regularly, so we can say we're getting tired of each others faces, hahaha
The tournament is a 'free entrance' one, but sadly we had to ask for 'donation' because of the venue's space restraint.
Some of the decks we're just ported lists from multiplayer but I think it's just a little number.
The banlist is just fine, it's very balanced tbh... personally I miss Cataclysm hahaha, it's just me.
I've concluded that the meta here is very aggro oriented... control is lacking.
We'll try to mount another event to invite MORE players... I personally think GP Manila was a huge factor in the decreased number of the players trying duel commander... we're hoping it will puck up again after this weekend.
EDIT: A large deterrent for new players here is primarily the cost, and the stigma that if you don't play costly cards you just can't keep up with the game... that makes me sad coz I still don't own a Wasteland hahaha.
Another thing is a lot of players who plays our format doesn't want to play in tourneys... maybe it's the prizes vs entrance fees or whatever
The metashift to aggro is also true here in Manila, after oloro ban the gy combos laid low but a very few dedicated players kept on playing reanimator specially one of my friends with his mimeo. Control would be very good right now, because combos are merging again to prey on the aggro meta
Yep, because the meta here is full of aggro and very control, combos are everywhere... we're lacking control players.
I also think that's the reason why we're seeing less and less of MW and Marath because of gy combos
And because of gy combos... Anafenza... midrange disruption preys on control... and the chain continues.
Hey, its just a group of 4 of us actually testing the decks we have built. I used to have Marath, but i think i found the decks i really enjoy in Prossh and Anafenza. My friend Evan has Geist and is building Thrun also and my other friend Nick has Sidisi. Our other friend has Narset and Jenara. I also have 5c reanaimator together but the deck wasnt much fun to play (especially against Geist)
Our local shop really fell out of the French 1v1 EDH... so us 4 stuck with it.
Should these not be in the dedicated video thread? Unless this was an actual DC event that you recorded(The content is good, just not in the right place perhaps?)

Top 8 decided to split as it was getting relatively late by the end of the tournament (nearly every round went to time ).
Our biggest tournament in the area since last year! Really glad that so many people were able to come out and play. Hope to see as many at the next tournament two weeks from now.
I also had some help in taking some photos of the event in progress so if I can find a place to upload them I will endeavor to do so!
Congrats! Just when we're trying to beat the 117 players record, it goes up to 140 players! Even more difficult for us organizers because of Tiny Leaders gaining serious traction here in Manila.
Any results yet?

** a lot of duel commander players were present at the venue but I think they've already spent they're money buying cards and stuff
I think it's the Doomsday build.
Guilty of this ^
I hope we can come up with something big again this February. Cheers!

I'm actually very confused as to why Alesha didn't perform better, especially with that control heavy meta.
