Is there a thread for child of alara 5c reanimator? And would like you see your Daretti list!
I made a thread here called "Daretti Prison" with the list and a report of this tournament. Thought it was important since it's the first Daretti win that I know of.
We had a tournament today in São Paulo, Brazil.
The top 8 after six rounds is:
1-Prossh, Skyraider of Kher (Elfball) 5-0-1
2-Prossh, Skyraider of Kher (Elfball) 4-0-2
3-rafiq of the many 4-1-1
4-Animar, soul of elements 4-1-1
5-Merieke ri Berit (Control) 4-1-1 i think
6-Keranos, God of Storms 4-1-1 or 4-2 i think
7-Scion of ur-dragon (Reanimator)-Me 4-2
8-Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon 4-2

In the finals we splited the prize cause we are soo tired. The extra prize is in the image.
I realy wished Ana won vs thrax but it's one of the most hardest mu for this kind of deck but still, go go ANA! The siege continues!
I was the Thraximundar player. And no, Anafenza/Doran is truly one of our worst matchups. He actually beat me in the Swiss rounds in round 2. The problem is that Anafenza/Doran can start applying immense life total pressure as early as turn 2. The games that I won were the ones where I was able to wrath twice in a row (and I only run Damnation and Toxic Deluge). I had to have the perfect opener of counters/removal and all Anafenza/Doran needs to do is constantly throw creatures at me until I can't keep up anymore.
For reference, the final match was so close that in game 3 I managed to stabilize at only 1 life. Excellent games though and Anafenza/Doran is quite a powerhouse deck.
I've personally never won against a competitive Thrax so I consider it one of the hardest MU. Maybe it's just the build here that's strong vs crit based decks but slightly bad vs control. But that's just me. Well, control's not much played here so I get that's safe.

@ Dan Pyre : same question than the one I asked to Umex;
How duel commander and its metagame are seen in USA? Is there more players than before? Is there others english forums where duel commander is discussed?
Hi asimov!
While I cannot speak for the entirety of the USA, I can speak for my local area. Since about August 2013 our playgroup has been playing Duel Commander as our main format. The majority of us had previously been heavily invested in the multiplayer EDH format which is most commonly played here. We have been steadily attempting to recruit players to the format. Initially there was some resistance (Sol Ring banned? Primeval Titan unbanned? The French banlist makes no sense! I can make a deck that gets turn 3 Emrakul EVERY GAME!!) but in the past few months we have made some strides in getting other players into the format. Most of them are/were competitive players who enjoyed legacy or modern.
Our local metagame varies from tournament to tournament. We have a group of 'Big 4' control decks that are at most of the tournaments: Grand Arbiter, Thraximundar, Nin, and Wydwen. Then we have a few graveyard decks: Iname and Scion. Within the past few months a few people have picked up Prossh as their general so I think we'll be seeing Elfball start popping up soon. There are a few Doran/Anafenzas, some Maraths, Jenaras. Geist used to have a large following but has since fallen out of favor. There is a very good Geist pilot who shows up to practice but has yet to make it to a tournament! Otherwise many of the players are restricted by budget or are not competitive players by nature but still enjoy the format and come out to play. We had a Thrun player at our most recent tournament come out and go 2-2. She had a lot of fun and wasn't just crushed immediately by our experienced players.
While the format IS growing here, the biggest hurdle is convincing people to play. French is affectionately known in our group as 'the format that nobody likes until they play it.' There hasn't been a single player yet (that I'm aware of) that has tried the format and then never played it again. Everyone has built a deck and participated in some fashion once they've been introduced.
As far as I know, this is the only English Duel Commander forum that exists. I would be 100 percent in support of creating a Duel Commander-only forum for English users if something like that were in the works.
Let me know if you have any more questions! We love the format here
Me and my group of friends are from New Jersey and BIG into Duel Commander. We are starting to record games of different matchups on youtube.
