1st match vs Talrand
1st round was pretty long. I dint have a good opening hand. Marath was countered again and again til it was 11cmc.good thing knight of the reliquary resolved. Fetched kessig wolf run. Gg.
2nd round was a breeze. Tutored Vexing shusher on turn1. Resolved almost every spell i cast til he cast vedalken shackles. But the wound was too deep for bandaid. 2-0
vs Ezuri
1st and 2nd match were almost the same with his elves getting pinged time and time again. GG. 2-0
vs GST
1st match. I resolved sylvan library turn 2. Took a bit of damage drawing cards through it. Was down to . My turn, drew survival of the fittest with restoration angel in hand. Cast survival. Opponents turn, GST with angel attack. Flashed my restoration angel blinking eternal witness in play returning a crit from gy. Tutored for kiki and karmic guide. GG next turn.
2nd match. With knight of the reliquary out early, i just had to tutor for gaeas cradle and kessig wolf run and beat face. GG 2-0
I've tested Titania too just for a 2 times and it did a lot of boosting which making things swarming a lot efficient thanks with our massive amount of fetch lands. Really did a lot of damage.
Pardon me as im somewhat ne to this system. My deck is almost simillar to Lyserg's. With tne ff changes:
- imperial recruiter + vexing shusher
- domri rade + umezawa's jitte
- garruk wildspeaker + wear // tear
-;courser of kruphix + priest of titania
- primeval titan + elesh norn
Yep. I know that the cards i removed have some strong points. Garruk is really good especially with cradle out but just a so so card. As for courser, not really my guy. And elesh has done lots of (great)things aside from negating skullclamp and marath's abilities. So there. Well, i know theres no ultimate deck as theres always that one deck meant to beat you. So whatever floats our boat.
I really wish I could find these Commander tournys you guys mention all the time.
My local game store plays it for fun, and that's all fine and dandy. But I'd really love to play in some real tournaments.
Edit:
Oh man I'm such a dutz. I meant to ask this question at the time of posting. Must have slipped my mind, sorry.
Basically, in my current meta there are 3 decks that run a lot of grave recursion. So I'm wondering what you guys think are some good cards that could be in Marath that could deal with this?
I think this is what stopped the Marath dominance everywhere... the emergence of more reanimator where the color is defineitley lacking asnswer-wise...
If you remove the spike Feeder you should remove the archangel as well.
On another note, what do you guys think about Dauntless Escort as far as 3 drops go, he's been a major over performer. Weather I cheat him out in response to a wrath/burn, or just drop him to be a great wrath deterrent. I find it very rare that someone can wrath twice, let alone at instant speed.
Dauntless, for me, is more of a meta call. With the amount of lands we have, wrath effects should be no problem as wecan recast marath again and again. My biggest problem as of now is hushwing gryff and getting mana screwed (prob due to poor shuffling)
I playtest inkmoth nexus. I have not had the chance to play. I give you the news.
I think it can be very good. It gives the escape with his flying and be used in defense

I just think that its bonkers when you transfer +1/+1 counters on it. Plus it can get out of hand when kessig wolf run's in play. But i havent played with it yet. So i dont know any disadvantages it might bring
Hey Guys and Girls .
I didn't perticipate in any turney, it was cancelled. :/
Raging Ravine is a bit slow, but it allows you to have a g/r land for "free". I play Treetop Village, Stirring Wildwood and raging ravine. its 3 come into play tapped, but they haven't slowed me down yet. (comboing off, play Marath turn 2, etc.)
ill try to drop by a local shop later. Been choosing between raging ravine and inkmoth nexus. With inkmoth nexus being colorless as the only drawback. And while ravine is colored, it does come into play tapped.
PS. +1/+1 counters remain on permanent even if it changes card types, yes? Ty
I think splinter twin is goog with Marath. I put one copy the Marath or a mana dork end removal( in to the board) This card is good with a major part of card in the deck.
What think about this ?
I need an advice: i bought Gaea's Cradle and i don't know which lands cut. I play 4 fetchlands from Khans (not Zendikar fetches), 4 forest,3 plains and 2 mountain and other nonbasic lands (shocklands, Kessig, Cavern of Souls, Raging Ravine, etc etc).
I'm undecided between : plains - Reflecting Pool - Yavimaya Hollow
And, another question, what is your opinion on Sylvan Library ?
I would go with Yavimaya... I would utilized all the color giving lands and having less colorless lands.
Sylvan Library is either a hit or miss to the players. I used it and Lyserg doesn't use it. Other Marath players have mixed opinion on it.
I'm testing a bunch of cards at the moment, mostly all suggestions or cards I've seen mentioned in this thread. Just wanna put my two cents in.
Hardened Scales - Proving to be really good. A tiny investment and it's actually not a bad topdeck in many situations later in the game. Plans are to keep it in the deck.
Dauntless Escort - Awesome awesome card helps shore up a huge weakness of this deck in wrath-effects. Has a respectable body, as well. I wasn't completely sold prior to using him but it feels really good to land this with the Teegster on the field. It's really surprising to see so few people running him as I've been happy to land him in every game played thus far.
Inkmoth Nexus - Probably a lot more people running this but I did see a few dissenting opinions. I love this guy in this deck. I will typically operate with the assumption that I won't get to swing in with him but if my opponent leaves an opening, it's typically a two-turn clock. I would not consider cutting this.
Cathar's Crusade - Absolutely bonkers in this deck. I figure many run it but for those who don't: if CC goes unanswered, things get out of hand so quickly. One of my MVPs for sure.
Mentor of the Meek - I've tried several times to use him effectively but it's really difficult for me to get any value out of him. I like card draw but it's a bit difficult to pull it off with any sort of regular frequency. I have no plans to add him back.
Dryad Arbor - GSZ for 0 T1 seems really good but it doesn't happen extremely often and he is very, very fragile on top of that. This was an easy cut when I decided to do it.

I have Scavenging ooze of course, but I also run Rest in Peace and have been thinking about Angel of Finality
Do you guys have any suggestions?
