This is my Numot, the Devastator deck. This deck goes back many years, before EDH was a format (or at least a well known format). My friends and I played a similar, singleton type format, that required at least 3 colors per deck with 8 cards per color. I wanted an artifact deck but I had to include the color minimums so I went with W/U/R as they were the best for my needs at the time. Eventually EDH took over so I converted the deck to EDH. Numot was the only general available to me at the time but he fits in perfectly.
This deck may look a little strange on paper but it's actually very tuned over 8+ years of play and plays really well. It has the potential for very explosive starts and even if that doesn't happen, can still be a powerhouse. It's mostly used in 1 on 1 games as that's what I get to play the majority of the time but it's very effective in multiplayer as well.
The deck's biggest weakness is nonbasic land hate. I've been working on getting more basics in but it's difficult as I really like all the nonbasics I run, they all serve a purpose.
A couple notable omissions include: Power Artifact. It used to be in there but I eventually took it out as I don't feel I run enough things that really need infinite colorless mana. It became too much of a win more card. Given that mana is rarely a problem for this deck I felt that it ultimately wasn't good enough to keep in.
Mana Crypt. I personally just don't care for it. I've tested it quite a bit and found it to be too inconsistent. With no sac outlet I don't care for it mid to late game. Unlike Ancient Tomb which I can stop using once I get to a certain point.
I might do a breakdown of the deck explaining why each card is in there but for now this will do. I welcome any feedback and I thank you for looking.
01-09-14 Out: Ambassador Laquatus In: Jace, the Mind Sculptor
It's been a long time since I finished anyone with Laquatus and he just wasn't pulling his weight anymore. Jace is much more versatile and probably should have been worked in a long time ago. Jace can also mill them out if the cards are right.
