wow! only 3 decks with blue, and those BUG/Sultai generals probably don't pack a lot of counters too. Great diversity, and even better for Rakdos colored Commanders! Congrats to the top 8 for that tourney Umex!
Something I don't quite understand about French EDH. Does the banlist apply to multiplayer, or are all of these rules specifically for 1v1 games?
Some people in my meta (here in the USA) have mentioned various French rules and the French banlist as suggestions, but given we're pretty much multiplayer-focused, there are a number of things that seem weird to ban if we tried it, like our many well-loved Sol Rings. Also, about infect - I've heard that there's this '15 points' rule for infect that my playgroup has suggested before - did this originate from french EDH too? That's one of the ideas we're definitely considering adding, even though infect only happens in one out of maybe 50 games for us.
Hoping someone can clear up what I think must be a misconception on my part.

French EDH has its own banlist that has some differences to the multiplayer banlist. If you are playing using the French rules, only use the French banlist.
For example, Sol Ring is banned in 1v1 play (it is absurdly powerful); on the other hand, Griselbrand, Emrakul and Primeval Titan are not banned in French play because they do not break the game. Plenty of players have counterspells, spot removals, and hand disruption that can deal with these threats, or are piloting decks that run them over before the cards are ever cast.
Infect is 10 poison, same as multiplayer.
If your group is really serious about 1v1 play I would highly suggest using the French Banlist for all 1v1 games. If they have concerns about the banlist, direct them to this page of the official Duel Commander (French) website: http://duelcommander.com/history/
The linked article covers the logic behind every banning and unbanning of cards in the Duel format since its inception.
I hope that your playgroup has fun if they decide to dive into Duel Commander. It's a really fun format once a lot of people in your area get into it!
Whoa Titania is insane. 5 mana for 2 5/3's and land ramp. If she's used as a general, you'd have to run all 10 fetches, 6 of which will search for nothing
Imagine tapping out for Titania, returning a fetch, cracking for a Forest and casting Crop Rotation for another fetch or a waste. That's four 5/3's for 5 mana. That's nuts....
Or you can just play Zuran Orb/Sylvan Safekeeper.

I had the same thought - In this case excess fetches will act as zero mana critters at the cost of a turn's worth of mana. Considering you're green, I don't think anyone would care.
Basically, a Dinosaurs deck with extra emphasis on land recursion and shenanigans. This won't ever be top tier, but it will certainly be entertaining.

t1 forest dork. t2 forest cultivate. t3 fetch for forest, play titania, return fetch and play concordant crossroads, play zuran orb, sac all 4 forests and swing with titania and 5 5/3's. that's game in french rules haha.

OK, stupid question since I'm new to the whole Duel Commander aspect of the game. I was reading over the official rules on the duel-commander website and came across this:
Lastly, please note that there are no restrictions on which expansions
are legal in Duel Commander. You can use cards from any expansion,
including the oldest ones. Be careful, however, as some cards are banned
(see section IV).
Does this mean that cards from Collector's Edition and International Collector's Edition are legal if not already on the ban list?
I couldn't find anything else on this.

A simple question: there's a way to MLD be competitive in Duel Commander? I know that lands that destroy are common, but there's a way to make a whole deck based on this? Not necessary the big effects like Ruination, but small ones, like Molten Rain, Choking Sands and many others, mostly R. Maybe combining this with a second strategy, like equipment, combo or using important creatures (like Purphoros, Griselbrand and Kokusho). I used to play MLD many years ago, but I wish I could try on Duel Commander.

The closest deck you're going to find that does that is either a Skullbriar, the Walking Grave deck that uses him as a clock and all the green and black Land D spells (Ice Storm, Rain of Tears, Thermokarst etc, etc) as well as various black disruption spells and efficient green creatures.
I saw a jund loam deck deck online once. It ran just like legacy lands so I imagine it could be made into a land d deck the biggest problem is that right now there is no general that directly supports land destruction except for rada but I think he is better as an aggro deck. Also Zurgo might me playable as a land d deck/ disruption deck.
My first thought was to use Zo-Zu the Punisher and all 3 and 4cmc Land D spells I could, with a package of artifact ramp to use some MLD and lock the game, and win through damage from artifact/enchantment sources. But Radha is really more interesting, giving access to a great number of mana creatures to abuse Land D spells/creatures in earlier game, and buying time to cast heavier creatures to win. Thanks for all.
This may be a dumb question, i'm sorry in advance. But im VERY new to duel commander and i'm wondering what are the top 5 generals? what is the ranking of the 5? and what playstyle does each 5 have (eg. Voltron, Control, etc)
Is there a HEAVY control deck currently well positioned in the meta?

Sick news letter and I really appreciate the analysis a lot. It's also nice to know finally know who is on the council and the contributors to the council. I really liked the interview part because it does give a little insight into the decisions they are making. Merci

The most popular control decks that I've seen at the moment are Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Wydwen, the Biting Gale, Nin, the Pain Artist, and Narset, Enlightened Master.
