This build might be scarier than most I've seen from you.
And that's scary.
Hah! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!
Why do you say that?
Well. It just looks mean. And it looks like it works.
Which is scary. When someone says "Tabernacle" and "Kaalia" in the same sentence it's usually not in compliment of one another. But this build actually works. I haven't even tried it myself but I can see that it works.
I know you picked up physical copies of Grim Tutor and Imperial Seal lately, just curious if you ever got around to owning an actual copy of Moat.
I have a question, some friends and I were talking about my build Kaalia, my winrate is high in 1vs1 against them but my build is not 1v1, one of my friends argue that my build IS tunned for 1v1 so we discuss some cards he spotted as 1vs1 and I want your oppinion about it because I want to build an optimal non combo Kaalia for multiplayer.
So, cards he said are for 1v1:
Master of cruelties: My friend says this dude is for 1v1, and is certain that he can one shot (with kaalia) a single opponent by surprise and is very strong in 1v1 I feel that he is also good in multi, for only 5cmc he is still a 1/4 first strike deathtouch that has to be blocked, if you hardcast it and put some boots is just as scary.
I don't think this dude as a single use silver bullet at all.
Rakdos, the defiler: This is the only card I actually tend to think as a 1v1 card, used once the anihilator 50% is awesome, early is not that good in multi but when you are the last is good enough, all things said, this may be in my opinion a 1v1 card I could cut.
Balefire dragon: My friends say this is also a 1v1 dragon which off course I disagree, the wrath is against one opponent but is a 6/6 flier in the right type
Apostle's blessing and Faith's shield: I run both as 'counterspells' The magic christmass scenario is casting kaalia and attacking but in a 4 ppl table normaly the real scenario is casting kaalia + counterspell or casting kaalia + removal on kaalia or casting kaalia attacking removal on our creatures.
If I have an active kaalia I want to protect her and people cast their instant removal in response to the equip of the boots, If I have a IOna, shield of emeria locking that blue mage I want her to stick, If I have an Avacyn, angel of hopeI don't want her to be exiled or stolen, etc.
So far, this two spells have been doing a great job for me, but I know there are not normaly in any Kaalia builds, I have red a lot of posts in MTGS and Tappedout and Reedit on Kaalia and nobody seems to play them so I am wondering if they are right about this 2 being a 1v1 cards.

I did! Picked up an Italian Moat a few years ago for $240. Nowadays it's ~$560. Kaalia is still the only deck it sees play in.

What do you think?
Master of Cruelties is definitely a 1v1 card. Once he's done his job on one person, he often just sits there as that "exalted clause" is a real nuisance (Kaalia is almost always the correct attacker). So unless you have a way to return this guy back to your hand......just being a "really scary wall" just isn't strong enough in multiplayer. He does make good Razaketh and Phy Tow fodder though, so there's that, then Volrath's Stronghold can recycle him.
Rakdos the Defiler is likewise a 1v1 card. You typically do not want to be declaring this guy as an attacker, unless you're borderline insane like I am (I've done it back in the day, once I attacked with him two extra turns...isn't mana flood fun?) It's so risky and attacking with him is just asking to get blown out.
Balefire Dragon - Your friend couldn't be any more wrong on this guy, although there may be a case in which you justify Scourge of Kher Ridges and/or Thunder Dragon over Balefire, but typically I feel Balefire is the superior choice.
I don't even play Iona in multiplayer because she just isn't good. Try Avacyn instead. Likewise I don't play Avacyn in 1v1 because she is too defensive for a game where I am trying to assault you fast and furiously (Iona is better here). If it's theft you're worried about, it sounds like you need more Homeward Path...maybe even Expedition Map for the second copy of it. Failing that you can run Brand (it cycles if it isn't needed!) and Conjurer's Closet can blank theft, and give you some late value so it's not a total dud like Brand would be most of the time.
Often times in multiplayer, the correct line of play is to run Kaalia into some expected removal. With three other players, chances are people will have an answer. You can't prevent every single piece that goes her way. That's pretty unreasonable. She will draw their kills, but you can take solace in knowing while they are spending resources to remove your "recurring" threat, those are resources they don't have available for your actual threats in hand. Smart tables will start to realize that Kaalia herself is not the threat, but less experienced players will still act on their fear of the unknown.
I maybe be giving it a try or not, I am growing tired of my playgroup complaining about the 'fairness' of my deck, I don't play any combos but because I am still the enemy of the table from the go I had to went to stax mode, now they cry unfair because my trinisphere is not letting them play 4 spells for free with narset, enlightened master
Conjurer's Closet can blank theft, and give you some late value so it's not a total dud like Brand would be most of the time.
Am I reading that card wrong? How does Conjurer's Closet blank theft? It works at the end of your end step on a creature you control. If another player used some spell or effect to take control of one of your creatures, you no longer control it to blink it.
Mages' Contest: Another red counterspell that nobody expects.

3sphere is a pretty reasonable card...(except when it isn't :P). And if they have issues with it, just tell 'em to take...3drinks.
...That was pretty bad and I should probably feel bad.

Whoops. I mis-spoke. I said "blanks theft" when I was thinking of the interaction of perma-stealing a threaten'd creature. How I made that mistake I'll never know. Too many thoughts running at one time I guess, haha.
I feel like I'm aggressive enough personally to go in on the monarch plan, plus this guy spawns more dragons. And who doesn't like more dragons?
Is this for 1 vs. 1 or multiplayer? I do not think Skyline Despot is that useful in multiplayer, as you have to wait 3 turns (assuming a 4-player game) before you get your upkeep. I still go by your original philosophy of making sure most creatures have an immediate impact on the battlefield.
Utvara Hellkite might be better, especially if you can generate multiple combat phases or even via Sneak Attack/reanimate/return to hand.

But the advantage with this guy is that you'll draw a card on that end step. And that it is a very suitable early drop from Kaalia too. For aggressive players (like me), I think the Monarch is a great ploy; and, it can be something that deters people from attacking my planeswalkers which could bring my walkers back to the deck. Multiplayer, of course.
I am trying to make Kaalia as competitive as I can without running combos (you know, my playgroup does not allow combos), I have tried going all mana rocks and fatties but it just doesn't work, the boards seems me as the main target and I am not able to fight some threats.
Narset, enlightened master can control kaalia early with chep removal/countersand then do her magic being inmune for example, so I am not able to play nor control the opponents.
Them I went to graveyard shennanigans, worked for a while but is not that consistent.
I don't know how many options I have left to build so I am looking to stax, I ll add Blinding angel to help me against narset, alesha and other things that relies on attacking.
I also think adding Quicksilver amulet wich is a card I don't really like, 8 manas for the effect, but I dunno, sometimes I end up paying 10 mana for kaalia or just hardcasting for 8-9 my dudes
Another creature Ill try is ANgelic arbiter, I don't really like it so much , he is a 7cmc dude, dificult to hardcast but can hose some strats
I am running Sun titan, is not the 'right¿ creature type but he can retrieve the lands after an armaggedon and can bring back some reanimation enchants, artifacts and why not some chep creatures
Kaalia by herself cannot break the parity of Winter orb and static orb so I will be adding Blinkmoth well, wich is not a dead card after all, then I thought Auriok Transfixer he is a one drop dude wich is not bad, he is only a 1/1 but Ill be running him for the tap ability and he can wield a Umezawa's jitte if needed, the Icy manipulator is just to expensive in cmc to consider or not?
I still don't have the Vampiric tutor and Demonic tutor but I will be adding them soon, I winder what to cut for those now
I think, if you're wanting to build a Smokestack deck, then Kaalia is not the commander to use as she doesn't take well to the cards stax decks commonly use. Although your post has reminded me of the FNM Icy Manipulator I should add to my cube...such a beautiful foil, and my favourite art, the old one!

That sounds like you don't want to be on Kaalia at all, tbh. You're asking something that just doesn't happen.

You are hurting Kaalia's feelings
It happend in my playgroup, when I first build my deck was 'just' (not exactly because I dont have many of the cards andI tweeked some other stfuff) like your main list, and in 1vs1 it works perfect.
But in multi, trust me I am always getting controlled and most of the time I feel like I am not being the aggressor you say we should be, You have said in the primer that if we want to play Kaalia we should be 'the enemy' the aggressor of the game but when you are getting controlled is very hard to fulfill that role.
Ill stick with kaalia because when the strat works is fun as hell, I am only trying to make her work more consistently in my meta

I mean, yeah. Kaalia's worst match ups are hard control decks. This is because they simply have an easier strategy. While we have all this prep and setup work to do, all they have to do is anticipate us, and "not lose". Especially Esper control, which we have a sub 10% win rate against. Our control match is just not good at all. Which, in the trifecta of aggro beats control beats combo beats aggro, that's what is supposed to happen. We're the combo deck that masquerades as an aggressive deck.
In multiplayer though, that is a totally different cookie. No one has done well with Kaalia there, because that's three opponents that have that knee-jerk "fear of the unknown" about what our commander might do. You thought it was bad for one player to anticipate us? Try having three. You see the problem?

That was originally why you built Kaalia around a land destruction package for multiplayer in the past, but you recently said that strategy wasn't working too well.

Even in the most recent list (the Tabernacle version), I went back to that ideal. Ravages, 'Geddon, Wildfire...while I'm happy with those, it doesn't change her inherent weaknesses (being easily controlled) and political reputation.

Are there Commanders who have few or no weaknesses? (that don't just hide behind a wall of blue denial)
I figured every Commander has its pros and cons.
Blue has been given way too much control/denial since the game began, and I wish some of that control and countering was passed to other colors (with varying degrees of efficiency). I actually missed the days of Phyrexian Tribute and Withering Boon.

I've begun archiving some old lists and useful info. so if some things look amiss, it's because I'm back to rewriting this primer for the first time in...seven years. Geez, it's really been that long.
Have we talked about this guy yet? Maybe a couple years ago? Has it's pecking order changed at all? Might have a hard time finding Razaketh fodder, but this.....albeit killing you in a wrath like Dark Prophecy.

I am pretty sure that somewhere in this thread we talked about this card when it was released. However, I think you discounted it at the time, since it couldn't compete with anything else in your build at the time. You also had Necropotence, which would get you cards faster than this card. I think it would be a better multiplayer card, so long as the other players do not think you are the primary threat. (But you have always said that your playgroups were terrible at threat assessment.)
I think this card is certainly viable.

I don't like those protective spells in Kaalia multiplayer, they're too linear, at least use a Mana Tithe/Mage's Contest so they can do other things. Red Elemental Blast/Pyroblast is pretty savage too, but in multiplayer if I wanted protection, I'd play Swiftfoot Boots alongside Lightning Greaves. Those alongside Grand Abolisher/Glory/Defense Grid/Earnest Fellowship/Teferi's Protection are some of the best protection choices available, and should be plenty, I think. Restoration Angel is another, but it can't protect everything - that non-Angel clause is pretty relevant here!
I don't even play Iona in multiplayer because she just isn't good. Try Avacyn instead. Likewise I don't play Avacyn in 1v1 because she is too defensive for a game where I am trying to assault you fast and furiously (Iona is better here).

Withering Boon is actually one of my favorite cards in my Olivia Voldaren deck.
Awesome that you mentioned that
