@Feaor: The number of counters and the play strategies between all the blue decks in French are substantially different. Wydwen is a special case in that it doesn't ever tap out and basically runs the full anti-animar package. Aside from the insane quantity of counterspells, spot removal, and bounce effects, Wydwen also runs Umezawa's Jitte, Jace, Maze of Ith, Piracy Charm, Consume the Meek, Venser and Vedalken Shackles. That's some serious hate. The difference between a matchup against wydwen and say, Edric, is like comparing night and day. The notion that animar strictly loses to all blue decks is completely absurd.
If you read his post he said from his testing the Blue matchups are really bad because the deck really doesn't do anything if your general gets countered. And I'm inclined to believe that this is true because its obvious that this deck is very reliant on Animar and you currently have next to no way of protecting him nor can you fight a counter war over. It seems like the major U/x decks (Wydwen, Edric, Jenara) have a huge advantage if they prevent you from resolving Animar in the first few turns as they can then put a clock on you while you try to recover. I'm not saying that Animar is bad, I just think saying that it doesn't have bad blue matchups is a little suspect. And no doubt Animar crushes most non-blue matchups since they can't really interact that well with Animar.

The thing about Jenera and Edric is that while they certainly can counter animar, and time walk into pressure, they're game plans are still essentially on hold until you commit to casting Animar. That makes both susceptible to both reverse-combo's in which you purposefully belate casting animar and go for a same-turn combo, and resource wars. They only actually time walk if you're unable to rebuttal, so if you're able to recast Animar the next turn instead of merely playing a land and passing, it changes everything and puts them back on hold, and at a card disadvantage.
The big focus behind the infinite ulamog chain isn't just to create a lethal Animar and bash for overkill, it's to lock the game state so that you can safely pass the turn, no haste needed. The ability to do a same-turn combo, even with a belated animar, adds a new entire level to the deck's strategy, and seriously impacts how the control matchup flows.
But doesn't a deck like Edric just generate enough CA from a few swings that it becomes that much harder to go off. I think that it's viable against Wyden or Jenara, but against a deck that essentially plays the Fish to Animar's High Tide it's not looking pretty. However, their lack of red based removal means that if they have pass and let Animar power up things can get much better for you.
They can't really tap down to play creatures and Edric for that matter unless you give them a shameless time walk... If they actually do go full out Edric smash, you basically just combo off and it's gg real quick.
I mean they only have to resolve Edric the same way you resolve Animar, but they're one drop and two drops are evasive and just pile on the CA. I love Animar, though I don't play this version, I definitely think it's more resilient than some will give it at first glance and I almost always do something with Clamp to actually win.
Animar can more consistently play a T2 general than edric, so for the most part you'd reply to their general with your own, at which point they can probably jam drawing 2 and will either drop some dorks or stall for counters. In either situation, you're going to be able to do a lot of shinanigans. It's really not pretty for them. You'll probably end up with a 3+ toughness animar, sufficient blockers and a decent chain. It's usually all kinds of good times.
I've been playing a similar build though with more disruption (I'm running Daze, Force of Will, Spell Pierce, Flusterstorm, Vexing Shusher and Gitaxian Probe, which isn't disruption but serves a similar function. I have to say it has been doing great! I'll post my list in a bit.
Have you tried Azusa, Lost but Seeking or Oracle of Mul Daya? I'm running Oracle and she seems awesome, I run 35 lands atm and still often have an extra land in hand if I go off early, even if I don't filtering them from the top of my deck is nice, especially given all the shuffle effects the deck has. Azusa was good but much higher variance and I've cut her recently.
Also it is the least popular colour, but decks playing red removal wall all over me. Only one at my shop and unsure how best to approach the MU (my store uses the MTGCommander banlist, so no Servant for me :-/).

I've always been on the ropes about Asuza. On one end, she combos really well with fathom seer and gush, not to mention that she's an easy out to the ever-annoying case in which you draw into a unusable Cradle before tutoring, however she's also so very situational. Aside from Skullclamp, Slithermuse, Fathom Seer and Gush though, I've always thought Krosan Wayfarer serves her role better, and is relavent more often (T2 Animar's, curve's out, is clampable).
The big trump card on the burn matchup is Primeval Titan. Primeval into Gaea's Cradle/Eye of Ugin clinches the game single handedly most of time. Other than that, strategy wise, burn deck's are focused heavily on board position, and frequently tap out. Quite frequently, you can get away with doing a belated Animar cast, and following up with several creatures to get Animar out of burn range. Spellskite is really good against burn too, but it's still generally better to go for Primeval over Spellskite.
Cards in the list which I haven't seen mentioned here are Kessig Wolf Run (my inclusion over Eye of Ugin), Skullmulcher and Summoner's Pact, as well as Oracle of Mul Daya and Vexing Shusher, both cards I've mentioned but haven't really been discussed. I'm loving Shusher against control decks, I'll almost always go find it before playing Animar/going off. He's slower than Gaea's Herald but much better imo as he can't be countered itself and he can protect your non-creature spells as well.
Things I'm unsure about atm are some of the non-basic-land-type lands (with Lumberjack and Seer), specifically Ancient Ziggurat. I've also been trying to figure out if I should run other t2 Animar enablers like Chrome Mox or Mox Diamond. I recently cut Lotus Petal and I cut Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth a while back. I'm not sure if more non-creature t1 ramp would be the way to go, and these two "Moxen" bring inherent card disadvantage and are horrible topdecks. Another inclusion I've pondered but never tried is Wirewood Symbiote, possibly with a number more elves like Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, Rofellos etc (though there are already 11 Elves).
Also I may want more of a backup plan than weenie beats, big Kessig Wolf Run pumps and Ulamog beatdown. There are still some combos without Animar as well but they're not easy to pull off and far less likely to win the game on the spot.

As far as T2 Animar's go, Wild Growth and Utopia sprawl are basically the gold standard. Aside from the obvious acceleration factor, they both combo insanely well with Arbor Elf, Earthcraft, Cloud of Faeries, Peregrine Drake and friends. I wouldn't pass either up.
Wirewood Symbiote is exceptionally good. He generally double-casts Elvish Visionary, Wood Elves, Coiling Oracle and Fierce Empath to generate some decent card advantage, with or without animar. At 1CC, he's a pretty huge chord of calling target, usually immediately recasting an elf, and double casting on the next turn. Being as he's an untapper, you can also freely convoke Animar and swing in, while still have animar available as a blocker. If you're facing down a fresh Jitte, Wirewood kiting makes a huge difference. You don't really need to add in more Elves, just recognize if and when it's advantageous to tutor Visionary/Symbiote.
As far as your mana base goes, it really is worth thinning out your non-basics. I'd cut Ancient Zigurrat, Reflecting Pool, Kesig Wolf Run, Cascade Bluffs Tarnished Citadel, and either City of Brass or Fire-Lit Thicket in favor of fewer overall lands, and more basics.
I prefer Eye of Ugin to Kesig mainly out of versatility. Eye consistently creates more board pressure, and generally has better immediate benefits as well. Fetching Kozilek generally bridges the combo to a much larger chain, at which point you end with a bigger Animar than viable purely via Kesig/Cradle, and let's be fair here, the trample isn't really all that relevant either. There is of course always the option of tutoring Painter's Servant, although unless you're already in range, Kozilek's almost always better.
Also, while this situation doesn't occur frequently, using Eye/Cradle with Survival into Peregrine drake usually nets mana and gets around lacking adequate survival fodder. If you can loop Eye/Cradle/Untappers several times to get a decent mana buffer, you can proceed to generate some card advantage safely via fodder=>Artisan, Imperial=>Metamorph=>Drake=>Trinket Mage=>Skullclamp and Wirewood=>Empath=>Eldrazi.
When starting to build my Animar deck, I move all cards from my vig deck to the new deck. Soon or late, I found how easy for Animar to go infinite and turn to the combo side. (I am the first guy to say "Peregrine Drake is better than Palincron" in your original post ) Turn 2 general means I win to against any non-blue or non-red deck. On the other hand, if my general countered on turn 2 or burned on turn 3. I pretty much lose the game. My op will not give me chance to recover. (I play under official banlist, Animar may be countered to bottom of my deck)
I think Animar is similar as old Edric. There are tons of crap tiny unblockable guys in Edric deck. If Edric can not resolve, those junks are all dead draw. On nowadays, an Edric deck can win a game without general, since they run better quality creatures. Maybe the deck is not as fast as before, but the deck is more consistent.
Turn 2 Animar is too great to give up. But I think it may be a good time to think about how to win the game without general. I am running Jitte and sword of fest and famine in my build and give up all the non-sense bounce dude. I am running it as a combo aggro deck. It is much slower but, much easier for me to play against blue deck.
It is hard to give up a turn 4 win build. Maybe my reply will be ignore like what happens last time.
I think I'd sooner cut Flooded Grove than Thicket or Bluffs. They turn my usually-useless red mana into colours I actually want. I'll test eye of Ugin, cutting Ziggurat for it. That shaves my lands down in a way as Eye is essentially a spell slot. I've tested a bit and I'm ok with my mana base, actually. Arbor Elf and Fathom Seer tend to always have targets, and though i wouldnt go so far as playing Tendo Ice Bridge or Gemstone Mine, the other rainbow lands like Citadel and City are often an immense help, this deck really doesn't care about its life total. Ive also tested Wirewood Symbiote and it was awesome most of the time. I cut Arctic Merfolk for it, i dont need the 4th bouncer, especially as it doesnt bounce on ETB, meaning it can't bounce itself and can't bounce if not cast from hand. I'm also happy with my ramp choices, t2 Animar is great but I'm not going to run card-disadvantageous Moxen or open myself up to blowouts with land enchantments.
So changes since my last post are: -1 Ancient Ziggurat, -1 Arctic Merfolk, +1 Eye of Ugin, +1 Wirewood Symbiote.
@chongsen: It's my list you don't like? Please elaborate on why The only deck I'm truly struggling with now is this extremely tuned Lyzolda deck at my store. I'd be interested in seeing your list, I've never wanted to run equipment in non-white decks. Jitte I could see here i suppose but I can't see running swords without tutors so you can get the one you want. Either way I think i'd find them too mana intensive for this deck.
Some other ideas I'm curious if anyone has tested: Gamble (we don't really have any good tutors for artifacts or enchantments), Lotus Cobra, and Pact of Negation (no drawback if we're winning that turn!). Leyline of Anticipation could be an interesting addition as well. Thoughts on these?

To dscherli: I am talking about your deck. I just do not like the all-in style Animar deck.
In my view: Jitte is a must(there is only a few resource to remove creature in an Animar deck… and grim lavamancer is a nightmare). Sword is my playgroup issue here. A turn two Animar is great. It usually stops by a turn one grim lavamancer, or turn two lignting bolt. Or like turn zero mental misstep (to stop those tiny elfs,which is very popular in my play group) will hurt a lot. I runs daze before, But I find there is not enough island in the deck. Pyroblast , on my view is a must. Depends on your play group though. On my old list, any counter spell costing more than one is unacceptable (I still run like 6 counters). Now I move to a midrange beatdown combo deck. Since I do not think I can rebuild Animar, after it is killed like 2 times. I need another way to win the game. Sometimes, Animar to me is a great counter or mass remove attractor. My other dudes will win the game for me.
BTW: I think it is better to do turn 5 Animar when playing against counter\burn\bounce heavy deck and I run Natural Order in my deck. It is a back up plan. Turn three Natural Order is better than turn two Animar.
Painter's Servant is such money tech. I've seen you cast it a few times and it literally lets Animar be invincible until they deal with Painter itself.
A card that I stumbled upon today that was interesting to me was Voidmage Husher. It has a lot going for it. Flash, a useful ability that helps against Sissay or Arcum (though I rarely see those). It has a built in bounce that lets you continually cast it which is great for free Animar counters. No idea what to cut, but just throwing out ideas.

Painter's Servant is an automatic include in this deck. Two mana is the magic number in this deck for colorless creatures and the servant is so game breaking when he costs zero.
Zero mana to turn Animar into a mini progenitus? Yes please.
@Virtus I haven't updated the original post yet, however I will shortly. I tested Painter's Servant quite a bit, however I don't really think it makes the cut. It's only really good against burn, and even then it's easier to kill than spellskite, it's less apt as a wall, and it offers no protection to your other creatures. It's generally more effective against burn to swap up strategies than to focus solely on Animar.
Voidmage Husher is cool, but he's relavent a little too after-the-fact. Aside from Jace, most of the relavent activated abilities that you're going to want to counter are before Animar is live. Jitte, Vedalken Shackles, Grim Lavamancer all come to mind. All of those shine exclusively before Hush is usable.
@dscherli I figured since I managed to get myself in an animar-less, 0-turn clock, survival fodder-less situation that was won via Eye of Ugin, I'd post it up. I ended up casting Animar after my opponent misplayed with his burn, but I already had the ability to combo without Animar.

The last time I saw/played against Jester, I realized that he wasn't rushing into the T2 Animar like he used to. Instead, he was making sure the coast was clear to play Animar, which is the right idea. If Animar is played on T2, chances are good that the red played would have burn waiting. I'd be interested to see whether or not Jester will keep Utopita Sprawl, Wild Growth, Lotus Petal, and Mox Diamond.
Augury Owl: It's not quite as obscene as Sage of Epityr, but I've definitely liked Augury Owl. It works very nicely with Coiling Oracle, Elvish Visionary, Sea-Gate Oracle, Raven Ramiliar, Hapless Researcher, Owl Familiar, Skullclamp etc. It's often more important to make your draws count then necessarily draw more, especially when you already have cantrip effects. The extra digging is crucial at times.
Cursesnatcher is really effective in combating sweepers, but doesn't generally do all that much against counters and burn. One drops however are very important being as how they make such a huge impact on reducing chain cost, so it does sort of hit that sweet spot curve-wise. The slot is definitely a dedicated 1-drop slot, for which there aren't too many prime candidates. Also, Cursesnatcher as a chord of calling target is the complete blow out.
Rofellos: He's only really good in reverse-combo scenarios, but in those scenarios Rofello's is a house.
Gitaxian Probe: I've fallen in love with Gitaxian Probe overnight. It really takes the guesswork out of things, and with how much of the strategy is based off of reading your opponent, it really helps you adapt.
Shared Discovery: You usually end up tapping Animar down, but the card advantage is worth it, and untapping Animar down the road is trivial within a larger combo.
Daze: It's really close to being a force of will early game, and let's you go all out quite frequently.
Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth are both insanely good, especially given just how frequently this deck untaps lands. They are by far the best acceleration 1 drops. I might consider cutting Lotus Petal, although it's quite good with skullclamp.
Yes, it's a major overhaul than the usual Eldrazi boost. With the advent of tier decks knowing when to strike, Animar is in a vulnerable position. That's why I drop a lot of cards and adding some of its own protection. Black and White decks can now simply scoff when they have Perish and Wrath, Red decks have Bolts, Blue have counters, and Green has some accel.
This is just my current list and it will change from time to time.
When you get rid of Eldrazis, what s the point to play Animar? A good staff Animar deck(without kikijiki combo) is almost the same as a good staff Edric deck. And it is definitely weaker.

If you read his post he said from his testing the Blue matchups are really bad because the deck really doesn't do anything if your general gets countered. And I'm inclined to believe that this is true because its obvious that this deck is very reliant on Animar and you currently have next to no way of protecting him nor can you fight a counter war over. It seems like the major U/x decks (Wydwen, Edric, Jenara) have a huge advantage if they prevent you from resolving Animar in the first few turns as they can then put a clock on you while you try to recover. I'm not saying that Animar is bad, I just think saying that it doesn't have bad blue matchups is a little suspect. And no doubt Animar crushes most non-blue matchups since they can't really interact that well with Animar.
The thing about Jenera and Edric is that while they certainly can counter animar, and time walk into pressure, they're game plans are still essentially on hold until you commit to casting Animar. That makes both susceptible to both reverse-combo's in which you purposefully belate casting animar and go for a same-turn combo, and resource wars. They only actually time walk if you're unable to rebuttal, so if you're able to recast Animar the next turn instead of merely playing a land and passing, it changes everything and puts them back on hold, and at a card disadvantage.
The big focus behind the infinite ulamog chain isn't just to create a lethal Animar and bash for overkill, it's to lock the game state so that you can safely pass the turn, no haste needed. The ability to do a same-turn combo, even with a belated animar, adds a new entire level to the deck's strategy, and seriously impacts how the control matchup flows.
Have you tried Azusa, Lost but Seeking or Oracle of Mul Daya? I'm running Oracle and she seems awesome, I run 35 lands atm and still often have an extra land in hand if I go off early, even if I don't filtering them from the top of my deck is nice, especially given all the shuffle effects the deck has. Azusa was good but much higher variance and I've cut her recently.
Also it is the least popular colour, but decks playing red removal wall all over me. Only one at my shop and unsure how best to approach the MU (my store uses the MTGCommander banlist, so no Servant for me :-/).

The big trump card on the burn matchup is Primeval Titan. Primeval into Gaea's Cradle/Eye of Ugin clinches the game single handedly most of time. Other than that, strategy wise, burn deck's are focused heavily on board position, and frequently tap out. Quite frequently, you can get away with doing a belated Animar cast, and following up with several creatures to get Animar out of burn range. Spellskite is really good against burn too, but it's still generally better to go for Primeval over Spellskite.

Cards in the list which I haven't seen mentioned here are Kessig Wolf Run (my inclusion over Eye of Ugin), Skullmulcher and Summoner's Pact, as well as Oracle of Mul Daya and Vexing Shusher, both cards I've mentioned but haven't really been discussed. I'm loving Shusher against control decks, I'll almost always go find it before playing Animar/going off. He's slower than Gaea's Herald but much better imo as he can't be countered itself and he can protect your non-creature spells as well.
Things I'm unsure about atm are some of the non-basic-land-type lands (with Lumberjack and Seer), specifically Ancient Ziggurat. I've also been trying to figure out if I should run other t2 Animar enablers like Chrome Mox or Mox Diamond. I recently cut Lotus Petal and I cut Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth a while back. I'm not sure if more non-creature t1 ramp would be the way to go, and these two "Moxen" bring inherent card disadvantage and are horrible topdecks. Another inclusion I've pondered but never tried is Wirewood Symbiote, possibly with a number more elves like Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, Rofellos etc (though there are already 11 Elves).
Also I may want more of a backup plan than weenie beats, big Kessig Wolf Run pumps and Ulamog beatdown. There are still some combos without Animar as well but they're not easy to pull off and far less likely to win the game on the spot.

Wirewood Symbiote is exceptionally good. He generally double-casts Elvish Visionary, Wood Elves, Coiling Oracle and Fierce Empath to generate some decent card advantage, with or without animar. At 1CC, he's a pretty huge chord of calling target, usually immediately recasting an elf, and double casting on the next turn. Being as he's an untapper, you can also freely convoke Animar and swing in, while still have animar available as a blocker. If you're facing down a fresh Jitte, Wirewood kiting makes a huge difference. You don't really need to add in more Elves, just recognize if and when it's advantageous to tutor Visionary/Symbiote.
As far as your mana base goes, it really is worth thinning out your non-basics. I'd cut Ancient Zigurrat, Reflecting Pool, Kesig Wolf Run, Cascade Bluffs Tarnished Citadel, and either City of Brass or Fire-Lit Thicket in favor of fewer overall lands, and more basics.
I prefer Eye of Ugin to Kesig mainly out of versatility. Eye consistently creates more board pressure, and generally has better immediate benefits as well. Fetching Kozilek generally bridges the combo to a much larger chain, at which point you end with a bigger Animar than viable purely via Kesig/Cradle, and let's be fair here, the trample isn't really all that relevant either. There is of course always the option of tutoring Painter's Servant, although unless you're already in range, Kozilek's almost always better.
Also, while this situation doesn't occur frequently, using Eye/Cradle with Survival into Peregrine drake usually nets mana and gets around lacking adequate survival fodder. If you can loop Eye/Cradle/Untappers several times to get a decent mana buffer, you can proceed to generate some card advantage safely via fodder=>Artisan, Imperial=>Metamorph=>Drake=>Trinket Mage=>Skullclamp and Wirewood=>Empath=>Eldrazi.
When starting to build my Animar deck, I move all cards from my vig deck to the new deck. Soon or late, I found how easy for Animar to go infinite and turn to the combo side. (I am the first guy to say "Peregrine Drake is better than Palincron" in your original post ) Turn 2 general means I win to against any non-blue or non-red deck. On the other hand, if my general countered on turn 2 or burned on turn 3. I pretty much lose the game. My op will not give me chance to recover. (I play under official banlist, Animar may be countered to bottom of my deck)
I think Animar is similar as old Edric. There are tons of crap tiny unblockable guys in Edric deck. If Edric can not resolve, those junks are all dead draw. On nowadays, an Edric deck can win a game without general, since they run better quality creatures. Maybe the deck is not as fast as before, but the deck is more consistent.
Turn 2 Animar is too great to give up. But I think it may be a good time to think about how to win the game without general. I am running Jitte and sword of fest and famine in my build and give up all the non-sense bounce dude. I am running it as a combo aggro deck. It is much slower but, much easier for me to play against blue deck.
It is hard to give up a turn 4 win build. Maybe my reply will be ignore like what happens last time.
So changes since my last post are: -1 Ancient Ziggurat, -1 Arctic Merfolk, +1 Eye of Ugin, +1 Wirewood Symbiote.
@chongsen: It's my list you don't like? Please elaborate on why The only deck I'm truly struggling with now is this extremely tuned Lyzolda deck at my store. I'd be interested in seeing your list, I've never wanted to run equipment in non-white decks. Jitte I could see here i suppose but I can't see running swords without tutors so you can get the one you want. Either way I think i'd find them too mana intensive for this deck.
Some other ideas I'm curious if anyone has tested: Gamble (we don't really have any good tutors for artifacts or enchantments), Lotus Cobra, and Pact of Negation (no drawback if we're winning that turn!). Leyline of Anticipation could be an interesting addition as well. Thoughts on these?

In my view: Jitte is a must(there is only a few resource to remove creature in an Animar deck… and grim lavamancer is a nightmare). Sword is my playgroup issue here. A turn two Animar is great. It usually stops by a turn one grim lavamancer, or turn two lignting bolt. Or like turn zero mental misstep (to stop those tiny elfs,which is very popular in my play group) will hurt a lot. I runs daze before, But I find there is not enough island in the deck. Pyroblast , on my view is a must. Depends on your play group though. On my old list, any counter spell costing more than one is unacceptable (I still run like 6 counters). Now I move to a midrange beatdown combo deck. Since I do not think I can rebuild Animar, after it is killed like 2 times. I need another way to win the game. Sometimes, Animar to me is a great counter or mass remove attractor. My other dudes will win the game for me.
BTW: I think it is better to do turn 5 Animar when playing against counter\burn\bounce heavy deck and I run Natural Order in my deck. It is a back up plan. Turn three Natural Order is better than turn two Animar.
A card that I stumbled upon today that was interesting to me was Voidmage Husher. It has a lot going for it. Flash, a useful ability that helps against Sissay or Arcum (though I rarely see those). It has a built in bounce that lets you continually cast it which is great for free Animar counters. No idea what to cut, but just throwing out ideas.

Voidmage Husher is cool, but he's relavent a little too after-the-fact. Aside from Jace, most of the relavent activated abilities that you're going to want to counter are before Animar is live. Jitte, Vedalken Shackles, Grim Lavamancer all come to mind. All of those shine exclusively before Hush is usable.
@dscherli I figured since I managed to get myself in an animar-less, 0-turn clock, survival fodder-less situation that was won via Eye of Ugin, I'd post it up. I ended up casting Animar after my opponent misplayed with his burn, but I already had the ability to combo without Animar.

The last time I saw/played against Jester, I realized that he wasn't rushing into the T2 Animar like he used to. Instead, he was making sure the coast was clear to play Animar, which is the right idea. If Animar is played on T2, chances are good that the red played would have burn waiting. I'd be interested to see whether or not Jester will keep Utopita Sprawl, Wild Growth, Lotus Petal, and Mox Diamond.
Cursesnatcher is really effective in combating sweepers, but doesn't generally do all that much against counters and burn. One drops however are very important being as how they make such a huge impact on reducing chain cost, so it does sort of hit that sweet spot curve-wise. The slot is definitely a dedicated 1-drop slot, for which there aren't too many prime candidates. Also, Cursesnatcher as a chord of calling target is the complete blow out.
Rofellos: He's only really good in reverse-combo scenarios, but in those scenarios Rofello's is a house.
Gitaxian Probe: I've fallen in love with Gitaxian Probe overnight. It really takes the guesswork out of things, and with how much of the strategy is based off of reading your opponent, it really helps you adapt.
Shared Discovery: You usually end up tapping Animar down, but the card advantage is worth it, and untapping Animar down the road is trivial within a larger combo.
Daze: It's really close to being a force of will early game, and let's you go all out quite frequently.
Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth are both insanely good, especially given just how frequently this deck untaps lands. They are by far the best acceleration 1 drops. I might consider cutting Lotus Petal, although it's quite good with skullclamp.
What do you mean "reverse-combo?" I'm not sure what you meant by that...
I guess that dropping Spirit Guides are a good call with today's meta since red tends to burn things alive.

Yes, it's a major overhaul than the usual Eldrazi boost. With the advent of tier decks knowing when to strike, Animar is in a vulnerable position. That's why I drop a lot of cards and adding some of its own protection. Black and White decks can now simply scoff when they have Perish and Wrath, Red decks have Bolts, Blue have counters, and Green has some accel.
This is just my current list and it will change from time to time.
