The more our decks play out with some semblance of consistency, the more we attain something like a Legacy build; it's more than coincidence that Jitte factors into nearly every stinkin' one of my games.
I'll update the front page with my current list soon.
I'd definitely agree with the Dungeon Geists idea, I use them in my own Tempo Sygg, River Cutthroat and it has been phenomenal. Moreso because flying and relevant 3 power all on it's own(for my own anyway). I'd definitely implore you to run him.
This suffers from "Fauna Shaman Syndrome" that infested standard when white had nothing but Condemn. Most of the targets you want to hit either don't attack, won't attack, can't attack, or can't be blown up with this. If you need to deal with a Fauna Shaman and find yourself needing to tap out for an Oring or hope they get bored an attack, then you're doin' it wrong. Puncturing Light just isn't worth a slot.
Withdraw - I had this is the original decklist, but cut it. It was at this time when I started to focus more on stack control and efficient beats rather than straight tempo like Withdraw is. Also, several times the issue came up where I couldn't use it, as there was only one creature on the board to bounce, and since that was the only creature in their deck, I was screwed holding a dead card. Withdraw for me is awesome when it's good, but worthless when it's not, and I am not one for such swingy styles.

I think you should reasses Puncturing Light. It can help Geist stick around when the only way your opponent can deal with it would be through blockers. It can also deal with annoying generals like Doran and Glissa, both of which I assume are annoying for your deck.
yes, it can deal with doran and such, but the blocker argument do not quite make sense
creatures are either too large, dont care or wont block. you will be killing mulldrifters with puncturing light. however, if it is the case, why wouldnt u just play a pump spell instead?

I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying here.
Force Spike and Mana Tithe are absolutely incredible. The first few turns are the most important ones, and these give you a huge edge in those turns, as you're able to interact with your opponent when you're on the draw and stop something nasty like a bob or t2 general.

Your weakest card in the described meta is probably Serendib Efreet. This can easily be changed into a wrath, much like what I did.
I've also been looking at Mystical Tutor, simply because against other aggro decks it's super important that I get a wrath as soon as possible, or if I really need it removal. Who knows.
On that note, I've been looking at cutting Mirran Crusader in favor of Dungeon Geists. It's fantastic with the swords, but otherwise is a sup-par geist, because it's actually targetable (except, obviously, green and black). I guess there is nothing for it but testing.

Chiming in here to say I think Silverblade Paladin is a shoe-in.
Not only does it give Geist some crazy doublestriking love, but if you're willing you can continually soulbind with the angel produced by Geist, swinging for 14 damage among the pair of them.
Based on the second soulbind card to be spoiled, I have high hopes for what they can do for this general.

I'm using it in my french geist. It's good as an uncounterable, cantripping counter spell. If they do have more than one open then you could always just normal cast it.

I've been trying it recently. Half and half on it - Flusterstorm is my counterspell of choice for now, based on the fact other tempo decks are struggling into existence. I have my complicate ready to go if I ever should want it, though.
So I played a game against a Child of Alara deck and an Ezuri today.
Raped the child deck easily. Game 1 he played lftl. He dredged it and during his draw I cliqued it away. Nothing exciting cuz he conceded after I countered his gen. Game 2 he conceded again because he figured he wasn't going to get to do anything.
Against the Ezuri I had a harder time. It went 2-1 in my favor though.
Game 1 he got a Winter Orb along with those two guys that return a land to untap a dude. I couldn't pull through.
Game 2 I was able to tutor up a SoFaF, nuff said. Can't remember how game 3 went.
But my question is, what are some good sb cards. My main problem against Ezuri was half of my counters either only slowed him down (could pay the X) or couldn't touch what he was playing (counter a non creature). I'm not talking just good SB against Ezuri either.
"Some of the other guys dared me to go out, but I knew it weren't no ordinary giant giga-blasting blaze of unending flames that would scorch the whole world."

If I could find a slot, I would try Stifle and Daze.
The rebels are actually very good; since the deck tries not to tap that much, in order to maximize the high number of instants, being able to fetch creatures eot is quite important. Mirror Entity plays not only as a finisher on the rebel plan, but also improves Tallowisp.
Both Chrome Mox and Mox Diamond are there to help with the cmc2 creatures (10).
I tried Shackles, but the nonbasic lands made it very mediocre.
In the recent tournament held by Perfekt, I made the top 8, but was forced to drop because all of my decks, and therefore the specific changes I made to geist for the tournament, were erased.
Oh well, it was still a good 4-1 event for Geist!
Round 1 vs Gaddock Teeg (Butts)
This deck was surprisingly well-built, and had a tough time of winning. The games were fairly even through out the 2 games we played, which I eventually won 2-0.
Game 1:
On my first turn, I powered out an Eiganjo Castle -> Mother of Runes. I played the castle instead of a fetch because I wanted to keep Butts off of using the Castle I was sure he had in the deck.
With nothing to do on my second turn, I played the fetch and passed, and then after floating mana through my wasteland'd castle played a Miscalculation on his general. I'd rather be able to play my wraths and walkers, thanks.
On the next turn I played an unanswered Azorius Guildmage, which got in for two the next turn.
Mage on Teeg, and I am free to play my wrath, should I need to.
Instead, my opponent plays a Knight of the Reliquary, and the next turn a Genesis, which makes things a little tricky for me, so I cast Delay on it. I'll worry about it later.
I play a Looter il-Kor and counter Knight's fetch ability.
Butts now goes into combo mode - dropping a Survival of the Fittest and fetching a Mother of Runes to prevent my guildmage from doing much without spending a lot of mana.
Looter gets in, and I pitch a negate and deal with the Mother.
Butts drops a Life from the Loam, getting wasteland back, and drops a Kor Haven. This is rather bad for my looter-fueled jitte.
I tutor for an Oring, and drop it on the Survival, but not before he pitches Saffi and Lark for Karmic Guide.
I get in for 5, and then bounce my meddling mage, and bring it back in naming Karmic Guide. No freaking way will I let that be cast.
Much to my surprise, Butts lays down an Ant Queen, which neuters my combat abilities quite a bit. A Gitaxian Probe reveals some lands, and I drop my own Land Tax, waiting for the wasteland onslaught to begin, which it does. I play Geist as well, hoping to race before Genesis gets back in.
On the next turn, I know I need to kill him this turn, or Genesis will prevent me from doing much in the way of combat. And so, I dump everything I have on him not putting Maze of Ith in the deck, and swiiiiing. He tries to stop the jitte equipped looter, which eats a Guildmage activation. Kotr fetches for some way to stop it.... but gets nothing. Looter gets +10/+10, and the combination of angel and fat kills him off.
On his next turn he tries to force a Lightning Greaves in, but as I do not have much removal, I can't let it happen. I Peek at his hand again, and then Daze the greaves, also turning off the wayfarer.
On his next turn, he plays it, but I stifle the equip to his teeg, and my Mutavault invites him in for an attack.
I Journey to Nowhere the teeg, and he replays and equips again. This isn't nice, so I Oust it, then drop a Dungeon Geists, keeping his wayfarer tapped for good.
Butts drops teeg a forth time, and I equip a Sword of Feast and Famine onto my geists, and beat in, discarding a saffi.
I still don't like teeg, so I Fiend Hunter it with the mana I have available from the untap, anything to slow him down.
I watch my geists eat a Kor Haven, then play my general and tax. Butts Beast Withins my sword, giving me a 3/3.
And now, feeling mighty ballsy, Butts drops a Reveillark and attaches his sword to it. There is so much wrong with that, I might add...
Butts plays his own sword, and attaches it to the Reveillark. An Eternal Witness gets back the Beast Within, and the lark hits me hard for 10.
Beast Within shreds my Steel, and I do my best to kill butts with an Angelic Destiny on geist, then attaching the sword.
Down, down, down to 5 life he goes!
It's time for Butts to do his best to kill me before I kill him, and his answer is to Krosan Grip both the destiny and the sword. On his first main, he kills the destiny, after recurring Eternal Witness through Genesis on his upkeep. He goes all in, and Swings with Lark.... but I have the Swords to Plowshares! Left with nothing, he scoops.
1-0
Round 2 vs Edric (Magicror)
Edric is, as far as general go, very, very good. My strategy for beating him is to kill Edric as many times as possible, hopefully with the aid of a few Wraths for his creatures.
In this match, I wrath several times... but manlands + swords get there.
I draw dead, and play a Sejiri Steppe, giving nothing pro nothing. This game was all bad.
I resolve a clique, and kill one of his mana dorks to keep him off of another edric casting. His hand is rather depressingly counter-filled, but I get him to pitch an into the roil.
Sadly, he draws a land and plays Edric anyways.
On my turn, I cast geist, and a turn later we have a counter-war over a Mirran Crusader, hoping to bait them all out so i can drop a sword next turn and go to town with geist and hopefully stabilize. He expends four cards stopping crusader, then ruins everything by Crop Rotating into a Gaea's Cradle and a sword. I scoop, but my opponent has to go, so we postpone the second match.
For some reason I choose this time to play geist, though I was going to wrath next turn and I had Mutavault in play. I think i had a counter as well, and my misplay cost me as Magicror drops an Inkmoth and a Sword of Feast and Famine, which will eventually kill me.
He attaches the sword to edric and I chump with geist.
Captain Sisay gets accelerated out with an Ancient Tomb, and I do not have the mana up for a counter. I try to Journey it next turn, but the Bodyguard predictably eats dirt.
Riley fetches a Teeg, then wastes a dual and plays it.
I loot, pitching the now-useless Cryptic.
It's time to let riley think he can win, he fetches Gaea's Cradle, drops some protection, and Nature's Claims my Jitte.
....sadly, Riley draws/plays a Primeval Titan, and I throw in the towel.
perfekt starts a slow clap, and Abnormality does his best scooby doo!
Game 2:
Turn two stoneforge again, this time deciding to just control his hand instead of the board, and get a sword of feast and famine, Riley tutors for his own stoneforge the turn after, but it eats a Force of Will.
I drop the sword, and let stoneforge get in there.
Teeg gets played, but I don't much care, and I into the roil it after he tries to play and equip his own sword.
I flash in my sword, and next turn beat in, dropping Riley to 23. Now I get to giggle, I play Jace and fateseal riley, removing a Knight of the Reliquary.
His stoneforge fetches lightning greaves, and the stoneforge gets the sword of fire and ice and greaves attached to it, not much i can do there.
Riley tries to Oring the Jitte, and I gain 8 life in response, why not. Riley plays Sisay and attaches greaves to it.
Riley is apparently bad at math, and forgets how much damage I have on the board - I use Jace to bounce his stoneforge, and beat in for 15 damage. He tries to block stoneforge until he is reminded of the pro-green status it holds.
Sexy internet rage later, and Geist is proclaimed awesome and Sisay is not.
4-1 (8-2)
There you go, a nice 4-1 with Geist. Why did you have to erase all of my decks, cockatrice?
Anyways, i'll be spending a bit more time with AVR now, Cavern of Souls is a shoe-in, so expect an update soon.
This is dumb that you dropped out and you should come back
Also, I am the boss

Founding Father of [Team Stepfathers]: We beat you and you hate us My Street Art
It's probably best to use a different general for multiplayer. His ability does not scale all that well.
I was afraid you would say that =/ I am kinda invested in it now, I'm gonna give it a try, it cant be much slower than Thrun, the Last Troll, and a lot more control than mono green, not to mention no tutors for equipment or auras in green. Guess if it does not work out, I can play it 1vs1.
I cut the wraths in favor of more tempo creatures, thanks to planechase and AVR. This change shouldn't change the Edric matchup too much - resolving weathered wayfarer is often just as good as a wrath. Manlands are hard to counter, or so I hear. Sunlance and Sakashima's Student provide extra removal for edric, and Dungeon Geists can lock down a small board presence easily.
Restoration Angel replaces Hero of Bladehold as a 4 drop. The hero is great, but the angel is just better. I don't want to clog my four slot up much so I'm not running both. The angel makes for some really neat tricks, at that.
Azorious Guildmage and Mirran Crusader were also cut. Guildmage in favor of the wayfarer and crusader in favor of the paladin. Giving geist or your angel or something else double strike is too good not to use in some fashion - and anything that would kill the paladin would also kill the crusader, barring black removal. But in that case you've already got a good matchup, because Iname sucks.
To lands - Cavern of Souls is too good not to use. There are almost no downsides to it. Name Wizard, Cleric, or Human for maximum effect. Also added Adarkar Wastes to help produce that U or W in a pinch.
Sword of War and Peace - I don't need this equipment anymore. Extra useful creatures are more important, in my mind - and I only tutored for this when I needed the life or was facing red. Extra creatures vs humility decks are not a problem, because my other swords and auras + manlands make me really not care much.
Additional thoughts:
I probably want to make room for Mystical Tutor at some point. This will also allow me to run something like Dismantling Blow without feeling bad as well as possibly re-including a wrath at some point, should it be necessary again.
Vedalken Shackles is getting to be worse and worse as the meta evolves. There are few things worth stealing anymore that haven't already done their damage.

I didn't manage to find command, flagstones, cavern, port, sword or paladin before the tournament and I always disliked steppe, fiend hunter and warder in testing. I beat Edric 2-0, then lost to Edric 1-2 and won against Jhoira 2-0 in an 8 man tournament. The deck ran really well. Later I'll post a short report.
How are you liking "white lightning" (Sunlance)?, before you posted your updates I was kinda thinking maybe "the blue shotgun" might be useful (Psionic Blast), but I try to put that thing in any blue deck, just because its one of my trademark cards, even though its not so great =)

..
Sunlance is awesome. I thought about P Blast (and still am) but chose to go with sunlance because A) it's one mana. B) pro-white is far less common than pro-blue and c) I always wanted to use it in a deck.
And against those white cards that you want to kill, much of them don't care which one you use. GAAIV, Zur - these need to die on contact, and it really doesn't matter which one you go for. Hooray for 4 toughness. Options are limited. I have been thinking of including Vapor Snag and/or Boomerang as a means of soft removal. I may go back to Aether Adept and Man of Wars!
I might even look at Talrand or Emeria Angel as four-drop finishers.

On his next turn he tries to force a Lightning Greaves in, but as I do not have much removal, I can't let it happen. I Peek at his hand again, and then Daze the greaves, also turning off the wayfarer.
Eventually, it does turn on, and he gets a Gaea's Cradle after casting Teeg. He throws down a Sword of Fire and Ice, which I remand.
It's time to end it. I throw a Steel of the Godhead onto Geist, and swing, then cast a sword of Fire and Ice. Dropping him to 20.
Game 1:
Turn one mana dork, turn two Scryb Ranger. My Azorious Guildmage eats a Spellstutter Sprite, and the game is already looking bad.
Edric resolves, and draws him three cards.
My Journey to Nowhere removes the Edric, but not before the damage was done.
Magicror beats for three, and plays a Gaea's Skyfolk.
Game 2:
I Spell Pierce his turn 1 Green Sun's Zenith, but that gets Mental Missteped, which is pretty much how the game went.
He does drop a Chrome Mox and goes for an early Edric, but I have the Mana Leak. He, of course, has the Force Spike.
Time to wipe! I wrath of god.
Inkmoth beats.
Snapcaster, killing a mana dork.
Inkmoth Beats.
Mutavault kills a mana dork.
Inkmoth Beats.
Day of Judgment.
Memory Lapse.
Day of Judgment.
Prohibit.
Inkmoth Beats.
And that's the game.
I lose 2-0!
1-1
Round 3 vs Glissa, the Traitor (xSuperZer0x)
Need I say anything but Mana Screw?
Game 1:
My opponent misses the second land drop, and I respond in kind with a Geist.
He makes me discard a counterspell with Inquisition of Kozilek, and I beat in for more.
A Thoughtseize meets a Negate.
Demonic Tutor (probably for lands) eats a Delay.
Super FINALLY gets the third land, but I have a waiting Cryptic Command for the Glissa, and my opponent scoops.
Game 2:
A little better.
Turn 2 Putrid Leech eats a Mana Tithe, and I Negate a skullclamp after letting a dork and a spellbomb land a turn later.
Time to go aggro - I drop Geist, and Super drops Glissa.
I Journey to Nowhere Glissa, and get in.
For some reason, Super decides to Beast Within my Tundra at this point, and i'm only too happy to have another beatstick.
I get in again, and Force Spike a Vampire Nighthawk played in defense mode.
More beats, and then a Wurmcoil Engine resolves, I Impulse for solutions, but find nothing... except for an Oust! Remove that puppy, and show the still had all deez hand of Snappy, Stifle, Preordain, Delay, and Phantasmal Image.
2-1
Round 4 vs Progenitus (Sollate)
I think this was an Enchantress build, but the games ended too quickly to see much.
Game 1:
Turn three Geist.
Mana Tithe a Wrath of God.
Stifle the -2/-2 on a cycled Decree of Pain.
Ignore the Norn's Annex completely, and my opponent scoops after drawing dead.
Game 2:
Turn zero Leyline of Sanctity is an interesting drop, which is where my Enchantress thoughts come from.
I Stifle a Fetch and drop Geist turn 3.
Sollate now Idyllic Tutors, which I let go, and grabs a Moat.
Moat gets plays, and I Daze it.
Wrath of God tries to stop the violence, but I have the Flusterstorm.
I draw, and reveal my hand of Force of Will, Miscalculation, and Counterspell. A turn later... and it's over.
3-1
Round 5 vs Captain Sisay (TheGoldenBoy//Riley)
This entire sequence was irrelevant, I won 2-1 after allowing him to think he could beat the mighty Geist.
Game 1:
M(O_on)nDust cries for revenge after losing to Riley previously, and I do so.
Riley drops a Benevolent Bodyguard, and I stoneforge, getting a jitte.
Riley resolves a Sylvan Library, but my Looter il-Kor answers, to which I will gladly throw Jitte onto.
I loot, draw a Last Breath, and Phantasmal Image Sisay. enough is enough.
....sadly, Riley draws/plays a Primeval Titan, and I throw in the towel.
perfekt starts a slow clap, and Abnormality does his best scooby doo!
Game 2:
Turn two stoneforge again, this time deciding to just control his hand instead of the board, and get a sword of feast and famine, Riley tutors for his own stoneforge the turn after, but it eats a Force of Will.
I drop the sword, and let stoneforge get in there.
Loyal Retainers is cast, which i Daze.
Time to die, Steelshaper's Gift for the other sword, and Fire and Ice gets added to the mix.
I beat in after riley's unproductive next turn, and flash in a Clique, which gets... Mana Tithed? Sad.
Attach sword, beats.
Play Geist, and then Swords to Plowshares the played Sisay, which is enough to prompt a scoop.
Game 3:
Guess what? Turn 2 stoneforge into Feast and Famine. Yes, I got Stoneforge turn 2 all three games.
Turn 4 Sisay resolves, but eats a Journey to Nowhere.
I brainstorm away two lands and Steelshaper's Gift for Umezawa's Jitte. Attach the jitte to stoneforge and beat in.
His stoneforge drops Jace to 2, and then Riley resolves a Primeval Titan., getting a Wasteland and Kor Haven. I Path to Exile it.
Drop Sword of Fire and Ice, attach to stoneforge, and drop Riley to 7!
Jace Brainstorm/Fetch, and then Leonin Relic-Warder deals with Sword of Fire and Ice. I play Geist for good measure.

+ Weathered Wayfarer
+ Silverblade Paladin
Here's where I'm at now.

Glad you enjoyed it. Might I ask what you didn't like about steppe, hunter, and warder? Any other cards you didn't like while playing and how you liked your changes?
