The reason their is acceleration is because it is better in every situation. Your going to win with your general, not a random bunch of infect guys. The reason the deck is so strong is it plays a disruptive gameplan with a very fast clock. It does not devote anyslots to bad cards in general.
Also Hatred isnt really needed, if your playing your general you don't have enough mana to cast him. Plus it's win more, if your opponent had removal he had removal.

This.
I'm actually surprised Khymera posted the Skittles deck on here lol. I sorta left the EDH scene for a month and you guys come up with an insane Scion deck lol! Anyways I digress - I think all of us were naysayers in the beginning of the Skittles deck, but the more I played it, the more I found myself beginning to streamline the deck into something real. The reason why Unspeakable Symbol and Nightmare Lash haven't left the deck is because they don't cost anything to activate, letting you literally one-shot the turn Skittles comes into play. You can't do the same thing with Hatred, as you need 11 mana. It is win more in almost every scenario.
I think the deck's only real weaknesses is indeed tuck cards (along with Pacifism / Ensnaring Bridge effects). We really went all out with the disruption package - including what would be considered sub-par cards such as Addle. It can also suffer from poor draws, but for the most part, you either have a hand filled with disruption (good) or a hand filled with acceleration (even better!). I'm probably going to be playing it a bit more to try and optimize the list, though it's looking in pretty good shape (and probably less of a headache to play than Teysa at least :P)
This is probually crazy but I've always wondered with decks as streamlined as Skittles Why do you need Vampiric/Imperial Seal. Since literally the deck is Lands/Accel/Disruption.... Removal. It does make Will harder to grab however.
I mean Mystical Tutor is pretty bad in V-Clique so shouldnt it be the same case. But the more and more I think about it, It grabs lightning greaves. Perhaps they shouldn't go after all but you should include
Demonic Consultation, I'd run it anyday of the week its even safer here then it ever will be in adun, and the only thing you worry about rfgin is will.
Why don't you run smallpox, removal discard and disruption all in one package. It does delay Skittles though.
Bubbling Muck is usually better then Cabal Ritual in a mono black deck, Maybe run them both?
Mire's Toll?
Other then that Really not much to say about the decklist

As stupid as this sounds, the tutors are still valuable here. Whether you just want to search out greater mana acceleration or protection, the tutors do their job. The list doesn't run it anymore, but I used to have All is Dust and Oblivion Stone - answers to things that black usually can't, as the main reason for tutors. Lastly (and probably most importantly), a tucked Skithiryx is your worst nightmare. Tutors help with that.
We don't run Smallpox because it sets us back as well. Early mana is extremely crucial to our success.
Bubbling Muck isn't as amazing here because our Swamp count is cutting it kind of close. We only have 23 and we usually won't have enough out by the time we're ready to play Skittles to have a net gain. Regardless of situation, Cabal Ritual is always +1 mana, whereas Bubbling Muck requires you to have at least 3 Swamps before it is active. Is it bad? No, but it's not as easy too always have that requirement fulfilled as you think.
Mire's Toll was in the original list, but was omitted for almost the exact same reason we don't run Bubbling Muck.
I am personally also still a fan of Shuko and Bad Moon (2-shot always better than 3-shot), although Khymera has opted to run more utility spells, such as Pithing Needle. Preference there. Lighting Greaves belongs in this list because it acts as a mana stone in the very least.
, whereas Bubbling Muck requires you to have at least 3 Swamps before it is active.
Just a nitpick. Assuming you have another source of black mana, you only need 2 swamps in play for Bubbling Muck to net 1 mana. 3 swamps nets you 2 mana.
Regarding the Skittles deck, has anyone tested Ratchet Bomb and/or Powder Keg? While they technically have the ability to remove problem cards like Ensnaring Bridge and Runed Halo in the case of Ratchet Bomb, are they just too slow?
Is the slot that Oblivion Stone once occupied really more valuable than having even a 1-outer to these 2 cards?
I'm thinking of building this deck with paper cards, so I haven't been able to do any testing at all, so I thought I'd get some opinions.

The deck is built on the principle of speed, so cards like Ratchet Bomb and Powder Keg don't really do anything for you. I don't think my deck even runs any outs anymore; if there's a problematic card, I'll have to bank on using hand disruption to get rid of it. If you play in a metagame where these problematic cards are more common (no one I know plays Ensnaring Bridge OR Runed Halo), you might want to include one Oblivion Stone as a tutor target.
Just a few points - Evergreen's Iname decklist isn't up yet, and frankwu's Akroma, Angel of Fury deck is now a little dated by comparison. Any chance these may get updated?
Iname will be added when the current tournament ends in a week or so, so Evergreen has a new list and I'd like his input. Akroma will hopefully be updated around the same time, or whenever mutedequilibrium sends me his new list (he said he will).
I'll try to find some time to update some of the rest and the whole thread as well. Do keep in mind though that I can't possibly keep all the lists up to date: though I've tested them all, I only regularly play a few of them. None of the decks in this compendium should be regarded as 100% fine-tuned anymore--they're more like sketches of viable archetypes. Rather than just copying a list, anyone interested in building one of these decks should expect to tinker with it and update it a bit. The overall concept is more important than every individual card choice.

This should be a given. Plus, sketches of viable archetypes is much more appealing than constantly updated decks. Not only does it give players a degree of personal touch, it allows them to examine the finer points of deck building instead of letting the master do all the work for them.
I'm just waiting for the next batch of generals and archetypes that have earned your seal of approval, Khymera.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
I hope I'm not resurrecting a dead thread, but this seems like one of those that is updated irregularly, but stays around.
Some questions about the Skithyrix list: Where is Sol Ring or Necropotence or Mana Crypt? I feel like those are better than some of the cards included, so I find there exclusion odd. What about Sensei's Divining Top? It seems good here.
Also, this deck does not seem updated for NPH or MBS. I feel like this would like Dismember, Go for the Throat, and Lashwrithe. I'm not so sure about Go for the Throat, but if it replaces Hero's Demise you lose the ability to hit Bosh, Karn, Memnarch, or Sharuum for the ability to hit other early plays. Are those generals that relevant to this gameplan?
My question is: where do you make the replacements? The list seems tight. What are the worst cards in it? Or do I remove cards for equivalent but better ones.

Banned in 1v1. I think there is a sticky with the Official MTGS and French banned lists.

But whomever your commander is, Cabal Coffers is really in charge.
After having saerched through our French websites a bit, I can't find any competitive Doran decklist. Most tier 1 French players don't bother sharing on the Internet, they prefer playtesting among a group of competitive players.
Sorry, guys...
Sucks. I'm going to be building a Doran deck soon, maybe I'll do alot of testing and get a primer up for MTGS.
EDIT: The post above me looks like a great place to start actually.

so no one has anything to say about Urabrask? From what I've seen on the internet he's only been made into subpar beginner/budget builds and hasnt been taken seriously for competitive play. Does anyone agree with this or thinks he has potential?
