What if the EDH Rules Committee implemented an official Land Destruction Rule for EDH / Commander to not only help make land destruction cards more playable but also less of a taboo topic within the format? My solution would be that for any land that is destroyed it's owner would be allowed to search his/her library for a basic land and put it onto the battlefield tapped. It's basically Path to Exile and Settle the Wreckage without the exile.
Only problem is that players would find ways to abuse this method to the point where Landfall decks and Crucible of Worlds / Ramunap Excavator end up on the chopping block. It would also make exiling lands more prominent not to mention encourage players to run more "land destruction" through state based actions such as with Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite's interaction with Natural Affinity. I played against an Abzan Stax deck that used that strategy to great effect.

"Restriction breeds creativity." - Sheldon Menery on EDH / Commander in Magic: The Gathering
"Cancel Culture is the real reason why everyone's not allowed to have nice things anymore." - Anonymous
"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" - Mark 8:36
"Most men and women will grow up to love their servitude and will never dream of revolution." - Aldous Huxley, Brave New World
"Every life decision is always a risk / reward proposition." - Sanjay Gupta
It also makes the point of mass land destruction -- resource denial -- useless.
So your suggestion ruins the strategy you're trying to make acceptable, opens up exploits you've acknowledged already exist, and likely gets tangentially related cards banned that are critical in other strategies, effectively cutting those strategies down to size, as well.
On top of the issues raised by Lithl, what happens when they blow up all of the basics you've tutored to replace the basics/non-basics that were originally blown up? This band-aid can only be stretched so far before it snaps.
Personally, I'm not a fan of mass land destruction, though I'm totally fine with spot removal for troublesome lands (Glacial Chasm, Gaea's Cradle, etc.). I really believe this is an area best left to the social contract - run MLD in groups that approve of it, don't run it in groups that dislike it. The last several times I have seen someone in my group Armageddon with no win condition, they were promptly ganged up on and knocked out of the game. None of them have done it a second time.
I disagree with the idea but not for Lithl or FunkyDragon's reasoning.
If they were to implement "If a land is destroyed, its controller may search their library for a basic land and put it on the battlefield tapped. Then that player shuffles their library." it would actually be more beneficial to run land destruction as a way to also attack the library in addition to resource denial, as there isn't a 'potential comeback' scenario unless the opponent can recover their lands from the graveyard or from exile.
And since Mass Land Destruction tends to be equal, the person who cast the spell also gets a refueling of their own destroyed lands. If they have something like an Amulet of Vigor out, they have broken the symmetry of the rule. Especially if they are running MLD Tribal.
I’ve changed my perception in the taboo of land destruction a bit as it makes green too good.
I used to only be ok with LD on lands that either have a non-mana ability or produce more than one mana when tapped. These days i feel it’s also ok to just LD someone to constrain their mana as long as they control the most lands or tied for the most.

The secret to enjoyable Commander games is not winning first, but losing last.

Why would anyone want to implement this, again?
