I am working on a deck themed around ghosts. The thing I would like to do most with such a thing is emulating their ability to possess both things and people.
I didn't find much I wanted from it in commanders, so I decided to go with The Ever-Changing 'Dane as the commander (the deck shall have the silly name of "The Most Haunted Man in the World".)
Taking control (preferably temporary) of artifacts + creatures, untap generally, and having artifacts become creatures are effects I like as possession analogs. My ideal would be something that I could tap to either untap or just gain the ability to activate abilities of a target artifact of creature controlled by anyone. There's also forcing opponents stuff to act in a way it's not supposed to (like forcing them to fight, or adding a toll for using it, or changing it's target)
Sorry if this is all a bit rambly, I'm just trying to communicate what I'm looking for so suggestions are easier to make. I put a list of ghosty effects I could think of in the TL;DR.
Problem #2 is I don't really know how the deck will win the game. Like I said, I'd like to not be entirely relying on my opponents' decks to win the game, the point isnt to make a thief deck. But I also don't really know what to go for while satisfying what I want of the deck.
I have gone through many a scryfall search and created a somewhat small list of cards I like that I am 100% sure I could not create a cohesive deck restrained to. Said list: https://moxfield.com/decks/q3LBUg5nPEO-6hYO_YanTg
Pls help me make a ghost deck that's not just spirit kindred.
TL;DR- I would like suggestions for cards and a plan to win in an Ever-Changing 'Dane deck (technically not bound to that choice) that tries to use spirits a lot and follows these general thematics: (~ means only kinda)
Temporary control
Forced attack
Artifact becomes creature (or vehicle)
Phase (and just general evasiveness)
~Tap (and don't untap)
Untap
Attack without dealing dmg
~Can't be blocked
Change targets
Ability copy kinda, moreso giving something else it's abilities (like katilda or other such disturb cards)
Blockers go away (like nah it's actually attacking now, or what if it fought one of your other guys now)
