MTG Salvation

I'm curious to know what the simplest/easiest combos to assemble in Chainer, Nightmare Adept would be. So far I have:

- Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts
- Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Combat Celebrant
- Walking Ballista (or Triskelion for budget)+ Mikaeus, the Unhallowed
- Archfiend of Despair + Heartless Hidetsugu (or Tree of Perdition to kill 1 player)
I like these cause they're 2 card combos and all creatures so they can be reanimated.

Also, Mogg Fanatic (or Death Cultist) + Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker both in the yard + Necrotic Ooze on the field is a really nice and easy combo to set up with just a Buried Alive and then casting the ooze via Chainer. NOTE: I was recently informed you dont even need the third piece. You can activate Kiki after your opponents end step but before their cleanup phase to keep the tokens until the next players end step which will untap your army of infinite tapped oozes if your turn is next. This requires trickier timing and is more easily disrupted by say a Ghostly Prison so you may want to keep the third pieces in anyway. But still, its good to know if you only have the 2 pieces


For just solid reanimate targets there's: Flayer of the Hatebound, Sire of Insanity and Archfiend of Spite

Mass Reanimation: Living Death, Twillight's Call and Balthor the Defiled

Any other good combos I'm missing or other solid win cons for new Chainer?

I used those combos Sedris, the Traitor King, though Chainer certainly made it much simpler with his low cc and build-in discard. A shame Intuition cannot be used here. Call to the Netherworld is likely the best after an Entomb/Final Parting type spell, discard it to play a creature while retrieve the second combo piece from graveyard (Mikaeus/Necrotic Ooze).

Flayer of the Hatebound and Tree of Perdition are pretty solid too.

Edit: The tree combos on one player with Archfiend of Despair too. What fo you guys think of that combo?

The Archfiend is great, because Chainer's deck will have dedicated reanimation, not to mention its much cheaper than Wound Reflection.

The new Archfiend of Spite seems pretty cool as just a madness or reanimate beater.

It's true, Chainer's ability allows you to discard each turn, even if you cannot cast a creature.

Not sure how I feel about the Kiki + Combat Celebrant combo. If you don't have a good enough board position it doesn't work, but I'm already running Kiki anyway and Combat Celebrant isn't the worst stand alone card

A R/B knight build maybe since Haakon, Stromgald Scourge can be ran in those colors.

Scourge of Nel Toth can take advantage of the haste support.

Artisan of Kozilek can also work since it's two bodies for 9.

Doomed Necromancer is going to be killer in this deck as a way to cheat in big creatures pretty early. Sheoldred, Whispering One is expensive, but late game she'll completely control the game, if you can protect her. One off spells like Reanimate will be good, especially with creatures like Anarchist to reuse it.

Also something like Corpse Dance will be really, really good late game. Also Entreat the Dead.

If you want to play around with artifact creatures, Goblin Welder and Daretti, Scrap Savant will be amazing.

One more that I love. Ever After + Rune-Scarred Demon.

A lot of those are really great enablers that I will def using, thanks for mentioning them. Especially Doomed Necromancer, thats gonna be a great way to repeatedly cheat out wincons like Sheoldred.

Oops, if you can afford to get ahold of one, Yawgmoth's Will is amazing, too.

I'm definitely planning to build this deck as well, and my first two big-money cards will be that and Wheel of Fortune.

How so? It doesn't need a good board position.

You Kiki a copy of Combat Celebrant. You attack with the token and exert it. It untaps Kiki and itself. Sure, they can block, and it'll die. But then you make another... and attack again. And again. And again. Every time, it's another 4 damage on their blockers. They'll run out eventually.

Sure, it has some weaknesses to First Strike, Protection from Red, and Indestructible - but it does work, even if you only have kiki and the celebrant. And once you clear someone's blockers, you can start building up a board of them to hit the people that do have blockers.

Here is my list for anyone interested. Its $200 budget because we have some newish players and I dont want them to feel like they're losing to money. It's mainly the mana base that suffers lol

Humble Defector is quite nasty with a sac outlet on board. Discard him, give him haste, tap and sac in response, repeat for some nice early card draw.
