Casuals do not like it when you steal and play their cards, by and large, and doing that as a theme is a damn good way to annoy people
I would seriously stay away from that type of theme. It's not something people want to play with multiple times for sure.
(Speaking from experience here btw:))
Agreed - I think once you've been playing a while someone pinching your stuff has an air of 'ýou did this to yourself', but being new to the format it does make folk a little salty.
Tbere are a lot of options. One person I played purposely refused to run some cards simply due to them being to oppressive or even opted for the weaker version to power his deck down (like echo of eons instead of timetwister)
You could try that. A deck that does the exact same stuff but slower (higher Mana cost) or take a general that can be mean (the mimeoplasm) but don't put just foodstuff, I mean while putting a death's shadow is usually something you want. Opt out of it. (Then again there is no reason not to get that +13/+13 at least once.
Instead of self-imposed restrictions, I'd suggest you build something like Goreclaw with attacks at an obvious angle and with a big-ass blinking weakspot. Sure, you may have 30 power by turn 5, but one wrath and it'll hurt. I think this may help you continue optimizing (making a faster stompy deck) while giving your opponents a REALLY OBVIOUS way to hold you at bay and respond.
Honestly, I think this is the spirit of what I am looking for. I don’t know if ‘weak to wrath’ is exactly the right choice but definitely something along those lines. Depala is weak to mass artifact hate, a voltron deck is weak to sac effects. Perhaps colors that don’t ramp well. That sorta thing. Thanks everyone for all the great input.
Also ninja tribal is fun, but you could also try a morophon deck with lords and changelings. It would put yuriko in the 99 so you could get a few changelings past, (Unblocked) and then ninjitsu Yuriko in which would, in turn, net you some card and deal a bit of damage.
While I haven't been able to record much due to my partners' health taking over my priorities, most of the deck techs I've spammed on YouTube over the years have a common trend of taking a suboptimal commander or theme and pushing them. Essentially most of those decks are mid-power due to the specific commander, color combination, or some thematic restriction.

I run a Goreclaw deck, and that weakness to wraths is real, but it can be mitigated with stuff like Paleoloth, Worldspine Wurm, Moldgraf Monstrosity, Genesis, and Greenwarden of Murasa, among others. It's a really fun deck.
