Kykar is a versatile commander who doesn't have to go tribal, but is most definitely supported by spirits. He is literally protected from all destruction spell with Spirit Bonds, where even a card draw would create a spirit that could then be sacrificed to keep him safe. That said, all the excess tokens en mass would turn into red Blood Pet when you need to cast more spells, and extra tokens via Anointed Procession = extra mana. I can see Kykar leading Ephara, Feather, and Shu Yun under its wings.
Some of the spirit makers are too creature-reliant imo
I think the deck should be mainly spellslinger with removals and cantrips, some buyback spells and crazy spellslinger thing like mizzix's mastery

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Murder of Crows: Loot while you generate mana and tokens. Also its a bird, so possible bird synergy. Mizzix of the Izmagnus: Get her to 4 experience counters and you can pretty much reuse any buyback card. Searing Touch: As long as you can effectively reduce the buyback to 0, it goes infinite with Kykar.
Angelic Cleric WW
Creature -- Human Cleric (rare)
Whenever an Angel enters the battlefield under your control, you gain 4 life.
Whenever an Angel you control dies, create a 1/1 white Spirit creature token with flying.
1/4
Eggs are another potential way to build this commander. Any 1 CMC non-creature artifact is basically free (and 2 with chief engineer).
Cards like Chief Engineer make your artifacts even cheaper because you can tap the spirit tokens to cast them.
I believe you can even do the wall of roots treatment with the spirits and tap+sac them to cast a 2 CMC artifact.
Artifact storm with stuff like Chromatic Sphere is going to be possibly as good as Jhoira in some ways (since it lets you use the 2 CMC artifacts too like ichor wellspring.

This is a good point the addition of white also allows for Second Sunrise and Faith's Reward, Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle shenanigans and even Jeskai Ascendancy tricks. The only shame is the real power of eggs is in all the colors but I bet this is enough of them to have enough effects to go wild with it.

This is what it came out with, light on the interaction but high on the protection. Extremely all in Glass Cannon style, I can see a lot of ways to build this Commander even throwing this together, I am excited.
That is pretty damn grotesque, glad you got bomberman in there
Weirdly I suspect open the vaults may be better than faith's reward in the end, since it lets you go off subsequently and you have a lot of ways get second sunrise going - might be a good safety valve.
Other than that no real comments. Looks like it probably wins with minimal derp to be honest.
oh, one more thing, might want to put a codex shredder in there so you can demonstrate the loop with shredder+second sunrise pretty easily. I could be missing some othe reffect though I didn't look super closely.
I believe you can even do the wall of roots treatment with the spirits and tap+sac them to cast a 2 CMC artifact.
Unfortunately not, Wild Cantor can't do that with convoke, and I believe Kykar would be subject to the same rules.
That being said, I'm glad someone said eggs, cause it dawned on me during my morning commute that this would be a neat eggs commander, and then it extra dawned on me that it's a bird! A bird that's good with eggs! Delicious!

You're right, sacrificing is a cost! Wall of roots doesn't die due to statebased until the spell goes on the stack.
lol, a Reddit user mentioned that Kykar could be a vehicle commander, because he creates crews to pilot those things. It makes sense though, since Parhelion II's hideous cost could be ameliorated by saccing tokens to generate mana to cast it, while all vehicles casted ahead of time would fuel his arrival.

Notably, even all current colored veichles exist only on all Kykar's colors.

That's decided. My first Kykar deck will be a mix of spirits and vehicles, calling it "Ghosts in the Shell"!
I remembered a super oldschool card that might be good in this general depending on the build - Martyr's Cry. It's likely most builds will make a crapload of spirits, which you can exile for a crapload of cards to keep going, sacc'ing a few of them to float mana to recast your general even if necessary.
And perhaps even Celestial Kirin will be used here also.
I will compile cards to a list over time. Before then, I'd love to hear everyone's idea.

Ra's al Ghul (Sidar Kondo) and Face-Down Ninjas
Brudiclad, Token Engineer
Vaevictis (VV2) the Dire Lantern

Tiana the Auror
Hallar
Ulrich the Politician
Zur the Rebel
Scorpion, Locust, Scarab, Egyptian Gods
O-Kagachi, Mathas, Mairsil
"Non-Tribal" Tribal Generals, Eggs
But a few other cards may become playable, such as
Walk in particular, because the ability always ramps you one, could go on for a very long time if you have enough islands.
Cards that let you trigger multiple casts are really good, such as
UW Ephara Hatebears [Primer], GB Gitrog Lands, BRU Inalla Combo-Control, URG Maelstrom Wanderer Landfall
Some of the spirit makers are too creature-reliant imo
I think the deck should be mainly spellslinger with removals and cantrips, some buyback spells and crazy spellslinger thing like mizzix's mastery
Also creating infinite death triggers and etbs on the way, so pretty easy to turn lethal.
Probably a LOT of ways to go infinite or functionally infinite with future sight and this general tho.
UW Ephara Hatebears [Primer], GB Gitrog Lands, BRU Inalla Combo-Control, URG Maelstrom Wanderer Landfall
searing touch + enough cost reduction is infinite damage
clash of realities is pretty nice
There's a whole lot of cards that will also create creature tokens on spell cast if you want to go that way thematically
talrand, sky summoner
monastery mentor
young pyromancer
murmuring mystic
metallurgic summonings
mirrodin besieged
saheeli, sublime artificer
sai, master thopterist
docent of perfection
Added Arcane Adaptation to the list for added benefits. Someone mentioned Kykar could also go enchantress, thoughts on this approach?
Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest WUR Voltron Control
Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun WU Unblockable Mirror Trickery

Scorpion, Locust, Scarab, Egyptian Gods
O-Kagachi, Mathas, Mairsil
"Non-Tribal" Tribal Generals, Eggs
Believe it or not, Mirror Entity fills this role as well (on top of killing people and being a spirit).
Also, Leave // Chance is an excellent card that also lets you recast all your non-creature permanents for triggers.
Also Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer can take all token generators and a single spirit and make them one in the same.
Shared Animosity for the aggro kill
Mizzix of the Izmagnus: Get her to 4 experience counters and you can pretty much reuse any buyback card.
Searing Touch: As long as you can effectively reduce the buyback to 0, it goes infinite with Kykar.
For *****s and giggles add Zada, Hedron Grinder and Mirrorwing Dragon

Whenever an Angel you control dies, create a 1/1 white Spirit creature token with flying.
