What infinite mana combos are available in which each card is exactly two colors?

I know I could just do something like Food Chain/Squee, the Immortal or w/e and cast Niv-Mizzet Reborn over and over, but I'm interested to see if there are other, less-competitive alternatives where all the pieces can be picked up by Niv.

The best I can come up with is League Guildmage/Nivix Guildmage, a spell that untaps all my creatures (War Flare/Thoughtweft Gambit/Join Shields/Energy Arc), and enough dorks to produce mana for copying the spell with the guildmage. Unfortunately, getting that much mana out of guild-colored dorks requires a bunch of cards.

Does anyone know another option?

Umm..

Brago, King Eternal and Aurelia, the Warleader, but you'd need to combine that with non-land sources AND the mana can only be used during that damage step. But I mean you are killing them anyway

I haven't thought about it enough, but Havengul Lich combined with creatures should be able to do something spicy.

The only thing I can think of at the mo' is..
Havengul Lich + Morselhoarder + Devoted Druid.
As Meatloaf points out, two out of three ain't bad.


Crackleburr + Gyre Engineer + Kiora's Follower + (something to tap Crackleburr, like Glare of Subdual) + Burning-Tree Emissary.
Hey man you asked lol, I'm trying. Burning-Tree Emissary is so that you always have a creature to return.


Gilder Bairn + Morselhoarder + someway of tapping Gilder Bairn and reaching some threshold of -1/-1 counters and you'd also need a huge buff on Morselhoarder so it didn't die with only 4 toughness. IDK, seems like too many moving parts.

OK, if I had to come up with something
Gilder Bairn + Morselhoarder + Biomancer's Familiar + Glare of Subdual + Murkfiend Liege.
You can double the counter on Morselhoarder to four -1/-1.
Then remove two -1/-1 and double again to always bring it up to four -1/-1.
Because Biomancer's Familiar only makes it cost for Gilder Bairn you'll always have an extra mana left over.



Izzet Guildmage and Biomancer's Familiar can help with League Guildmage/Nivix Guildmage copying plan.

Rather than using Nivix Guildmage to copy things that untap creatures why not just copy Turnabout and untap your lands? It is, as they say, fair play.

Izzet Guildmage + Biomancer's Familiar + Manamorphose draws your deck out, if that wants to be part of your game plan. If it didn't draw a card, you'd have the infinite mana you're looking for.

Because the idea was to find a solution that uses only 2-color cards, and Turnabout is mono-color.

I'd like to try, yes.

I think you could also go the Thousand Year Storm route. Your payoffs can be Manamorphose/Growh Spiral/Emergency Powers as cards that add mana and fuel your card drawing.

FWIW, I think Jeskai Ascendancy is a card to consider even if you wanted everything to be guilded. It works so well with Kiora’s Follower/Zhur-Taa Druid/Draconic Disciple/Deathrite Shaman/Atzocan Seer.

I'm going with Cadaverous Bloom myself. While not infinite, it provides more than enough mana for most purposes. Draw a bunch of cards & dump the mana into Debt to the Deathless or whatever to win. Niv fills up your hand already, especially with blink effects, but I'm also doing Swans of Bryn Argoll shenanigans.

I'm working on a balanced six cards from each guild. With 37 lands, that gives me two flex slots.

Is there some particular reason you need specifically unbounded mana?

2 of the 3 Izzet Niv-Mizzets go infinite with Swans of Bry Argoll - you draw your whole deck.

Sure I'm in. I'm already playing Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind in one of my Niv-Mizzet Reborn decks, so makes sense to make a slot for Swans of Bryn Argoll.

that's a pretty funky idea. sorta like playing doomsday-insta-win combo (except you end up with a beefy flier and not lose half your life).

but does oath of teferi and kaya, ghost assassin work? i.e. exile a thing, blink kaya, rinse and repeat? could even blink niv-mizzet a couple of times to churn through your deck.

Unfortunately it returns at end of turn, meaning you only get one use, not infinite.

Jarad's Orders can maybe enable some combos.
Venser the Sojourner, Izzet Chronarch and Chance for Glory... as long as you have something for the trigger - Voidslime?? Maybe Stitch in Time is safer...

I find it very hard to look up combos.... I feel like more will come up if I just play some magic.

You need to get two triggers from Izzet Chronarch to get Chance for Glory and Voidslime back every turn.
So you'd need Brago, King Eternal AND Venser, the Sojourner or Kaya, Ghost Assassin.

Remember Venser, the Sojourner and Kaya, Ghost Assassin only returns at end of turn or beginning of next turn, so even if you had Oath of Teferi you wouldn't be able to flicker Izzet Chronarch twice.
You could use in conjunction with a clone creature however; Evil Twin, Protean Raider, Dack's Duplicate, Altered Ego, Progenitor Mimic.

So Venser, the Sojourner or Kaya, Ghost Assassin with Oath of Teferi can exile the clone and Izzet Chronarch.

Repudiate // Replicate also can "Counter target activated or triggered ability".

Progenitor Mimic only needs one flicker effect with Izzet Chronarch as it already creates a clone each turn.

The trick is to find out what other colored paired instants and sorcery can go infinite, if you have the ability to get them back each turn.

The thing is that I'm already playing most of the above cards in my Niv-Mizzet Reborn deck, so finding slots for combos could be worthwhile, and in fact I might just make a separate list if we an figure out enough of them.

Can you use artifacts? If so, Saffi + Renegade Rallier + Phyrexian Altar
I couldn't find anything that works in place of altar to get infinite mana... You could instead include some sac outlet + a death trigger for the kill, but at that point I agree with darrenhabib that you should just go Aurelia / Brago instead of a 4 card combo.

As far as extending the idea of Saffi + Renegade Rallier..

Sacrifice outlets; Cartel Aristocrat, Falkenrath Aristocrat, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born, Maw of the Obzedat, Varolz, the Scar-Striped, Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter.

Payoff cards for creatures dying; Judith, the Scourge Diva, Deathbringer Thoctar, Catacomb Sifter, Reaper of the Wilds, Elenda, the Dusk Rose, Golgari Germination, Meren of Clan Nel Toth.
