So I've just recently started playing Neheb the Eternal and most of my games have end in either a draw (b/c of an X spell the does damage to each creature and player, including me) or I kill everyone but the life gain deck. Are there any gameplay suggestions or cards that you think would help?

I think this is a strange problem. Aren't you, by virtue of being mono-red, putting opponents at a lower life total than you prior to casting the spell?
I can understand how if you are at 10 life and your opponents are at 15 life you may not be able to win, but I find it very strange that you find yourself in that position so often.
Why is your life total so down?
Life gain will obviously be brutal for you. You can either play cards that stop people from gaining life or play around with something like Sword of Fire and Ice and deal 21 commander damage.
Sulfuric Vortex is your man. This nifty permanent will do upwards of 20-30 total damage per game by itself and solves your lifegain issue. Success!
Also, try to chain your burn cards for 10-20 damage bursts to each opponent. Doing so will give Oloro or whomever less time to buff their life totals back up. E.g. guttersnipe > flame rift, swing, post-combat earthquake.
so with Pentagram of the ages the last line says that it "does not prevent the same source damaging you again later this turn" this basically just means I can only use it once per turn right???
Not at all. The "tap, prevent all damage dealt to you from one source" does. If you can find a way to untap it, then you can use it on the same source later in the turn.

Actually, even a Rolling Earthquake or one of its friends still won't cause you to lose if you have Platinum Angel out. Immediately after the Earthquake resolves, state-based actions will first do one check, seeing that Platinum Angel has lethal damage marked on it and your opponents all have 0 or less life (you do too, but Platinum Angel says you can't lose), both the Angel and your opponents will die at the same time. At this point the game should do another SBA check, but because you're the only player remaining in the game, you win before that happens.
